from harford road to providence. over to you. new developments this morning in the case of a washington state man who killed himself and his two young sons in an explosion. john i don't know is here with more on the newly released 911 call. >> reporter: west first 911 calls before sunday's explosion why josh powell killed himself and two sons in washington state. the 911 calls include the caseworker who just dropped off powell's sons and he locks her out of the house and she called 911. you notice the sense of panic bullying by the social worker. she senses trouble but can't seem to convince the dispatcher of that. take a listen. >> how long will it be? >> they have to respond to emergency and life-threatening situations first. the first -- >> this could be life- threatening. he went to court on wednesday and he didn't get his kids back and -- i'm afraid for their

forecast for you. temperatures in the 30s and cloudy and chilly setting up for the storm that is moving this afternoon. the winds out of the east at five to ten miles an hour. and the satellite and radar picking up on the clouds out there right now and we can start to see some of the storm push nothing ohio and also into west virginia getting some of the rain there and that's what we'll start out with as we go into the afternoon. and it will mix over to snow by 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon. and it will be a dicey commute home. so speaking of the commute home, let's talk to angela right now. and she has a check of your traffic. we got to get out this morning. and if you're heading out, normally you take ricetown road and you're going to have trouble this morning. and we're suggesting owings mills boulevard. and we have a closure on ricetown road at straw hat road with wires down. in the meantime, around the beltway, we're looking at our morning congestion out there for the rush hour. this is harford road and the north side deslay is going to extend over to providence road.

and if you travel through pikesville and wood lawn, some slow spots making the past liberty road. and this is live at howard and martin luther king, jr. boulevard. supporters of proposition 8 which bans same-sex marriage they're going ask the supreme court to overturn the ruling from the supreme court. gay marriage can't resume in the state till the deadline passes for supporters of the ban to appeal. and an attorney for a christian legal aid group they hope to defend the band and no court should presume to redefine marriage. governor o'malley said that the ruleing is a victory for same-sex marriage. and he hopes that will be influential to maryland's house of delegates. it failed in the house here last year amid religious and

family value concerns. outrage over anti-gay flyers sent home with thousands of high school students. linda is here with what the flyers say. this is sparking a lot of controversy. >> reporter: here is what the flyer looks like. and we posted a link on our website. it says that no one is born gay and that homosexuality is a choice and students should not label themselves or others at a young age. they were sent home with the students from einstein high school last week. the group believes that homosexuality can be cured and it encourages students to seek help if they have unwanted same sexual tractions. they say they have the right to send home literature fewer times a year. and -- a few times a year. and the parents and students

appalled. >> my reaction was to tear in half and throw it in the trash. >> and the flyers were distributed at four other high schools. 38,000 flyers -- about 8,000 flyers were sent out. authorities in harford county said they have found a baby in a dumpster. they got a call last night on the 800 block of sable wood road in bel air where a mother gave birth to a stillborn baby. they did find a body in the dumpster. there's no word on whether the police have found the mother. opening arguments are expected today in the trial of a uva lacrosse player accused of killing his ex-girlfriend. there are 28 potential jurors and they're expected to return today in the case of george hughley. and there are 12 that are expected to be chosen with three alternatives. george hughley has pled not guilty to murder.

it stems from the may 2010 death of yeardley love, a native of crockesyville. you can find all the latest information on our website, abc2news.com on the home page. a hospital employee convicted in the stabbing death his supervisor in suburban county is scheduled to be sentenced. the supervisor was found stabbed to death in the basement of the office. sherrie johnson is here following the latest developments on the penn state sex abuse scandal against jerry sandusky. >> reporter: new details this morning in the penn state sex abuse scandal. pennsylvania prosecutors are asking that jerry sandusky indo bail condition. prosecutors say that several people have seen the former penn state coach watching children in a schoolyard from the back porch of his home.

jerry sandusky is charged with molesting young boys and is under house arrest right now. and his lawyers say that safety concerns are totally unfounded. and in annapolis, senate bill 140 would make is a criminal penalty to not report child abuse. the conference starts at noon today at lawyers mall in annapolis. supporters of the bill will speak at today's news conference, including a prosecutor and mother that talk about people not doing anything even if they know about sexual abuse of a child. the archdiocese of baltimore is fighting the white house in offering berth control and now the white house may be willing to compromise on the mandate for schools and hospitals to offer free birth control. they are working on ways to address the issue and respect religious beliefs that ban contraception. they have not released any detail on it yet.

concerned with. we'll see refreezing as we go into the overnight. take it easy out there. and we're looking pretty good as we start to see more sunshine in the forecast. in the meantime, you want to know what is happening for today in terms of the snow totals. i have them for you. i'm thinking about up to an inch of some snow around baltimore even into the city that is possible. and then the further to the north and west you go, could you see maybe two to three inches, plus in those areas and down south around the eastern shore, mainly just plain rain around the washington d.c. area. maybe a wet snowflake missing n but we'll see rain across that area. 38 for today and tonight, the temperature coming in around 30 degrees. and we'll get the gradual clearing. tomorrow's temperature around 48 degrees and we will see your seven-day forecast that brings us colder air as we go into the week. and now a check of your
