>> we have light snow be a rain coming down as of now. the air is really dry so it looks like it's hitting the ground and maybe a couple flurries. i will show you that in a second. but it's valentine's day and we will return above average temperatures through today. throughout the week, and then we will get another dose of unsettled weather and the weekend outlook rain or snow is the big question. but here we go on maryland's most powerful radar as of now. we can see some snow into northern harford county as of now and back into western maryland. but most of the action coming down the further off to the north that you go. so, we are not getting a whole lot of snow this morning. the air is too dry and i will detail that later. right now it's cold out there. bundle up as you head out and b let's he check the traffic good morning. yesterday, things were happening a little early. what about today. >> reporter: yesterday we were busy at the top of the newscast and, of course, this morning things are pretty much normal for the most part. we had an overnight accident a half-hour ago on northbound 95. but police say they are clearing that out of the way.

today marks day 7. yesterday, they heard from the medical examiner who gave a detailed report of yeardley love's body with a wrap-up on yesterday, everything that happened and a peek at what's happening today, here linda so. >> reporter: well, when court resumes this morning, prosecutors will continue building the case. we are expecting to hear from experts on brain injuries andforensics. yeardley love's mother stayed out of the courtroom and there was testimony from the medical examiner who perform the autopsy. prosecutors presented autopsy photos showing bruise on love's legs, arms, hands and massive bruise on her face. george huguely kept his head down and avoided looking at the photos. >> the prosecutor has a tremendous burden to prove there was a murder. not just an act of passion that resulted in someone dying which is what the defense's argument is going to be a manslaughter conviction is what they are hoping for. >> reporter: prosecutors are expected to call more forensic experts this morning specifically those who can talk about the evidence collected

so, she was very believable. >> norwood never confessed but she did begin to contradict herself. video from the apple store next to lululemon is being -- is also getting some public outcry and that's because it shows the apple store employees listening to the assault and did nothing. norwood was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. in other news a man is charged with molesting a middle schoolgirl. charles shelly told the 13-year- old he could help get her into a good high school but he he was never part of the city schools mentoring program. the girl says shelly picked her up from school and molested her. when she got home she told her parents and shelly is charged with sex abuse and also assault. jerry sandusky will be allowed to see his grandchildren a judge ruled he can see his grand kids while awaiting trial on sex abuse charges. the catch is he can't see all of his grandchildren.

no further details are released that the time. and an attorney for the former penn state athletic director timothy curley filed a motion to have the charges dropped. official say he misled a grand jury. it stems from a report that he received a graduate assistant who says he saw jerry sandusky showering with a young boy. today the baltimore county council will hold a hearing on gender identity protection bill banning discrim initial based on sexual orientation and gender. four of the counties 7 council members are sponsoring the bill. according to governor omalyea vote on the same sex marriage bill could come as early as this week. supporters of the bill gathered yesterday at thurgood marshall's statue to lobby withlegislators. >> this is about equality. it's about treating our families in the state of maryland with dignity and

in two states today and focusing on the western u.s. rick santorum has two stops in idaho and today newt gingrich has been quiet as of late. he is out in the golden state of california. two national polls in the race now show the republican presidential nomination appears to be a tie between mitt romney and now rick santorum. the latest tracking poll shows 32% of registered republicans favor romney followed by santorum 30% and newt gingrich trailed at 16% and ron paul 8%. both surveys were done after santorum won the contest in colorado, minnesota and missouri all of this last week. as president obama watches the gop race closely, he is defending his budget. he unveiled the nearly 4 trillion dollar budget yesterday. the budget pushes new tax on individual who make more than 200,000 dollars a year. also, there's some new spending on education and energy. president hopes that will boost the economy. and closer to home this

morning, baltimore city mayor stephanie rawlings blake is going to focus on property tax cuts. she outlined a plan yesterday during the state of the city address. and she is also looking for ways to bring in more cash for the city. one proposal is a three cent tax to the city's bottle tax. >> i am embarrassed by the physical conditions of some of our schools. our kids deserve better. [ applause ] as a mother, and as mayor of this city, i am not going to stand by and do nothing about it. >> exact details of the budget will be released in a few weeks. all right. now we learned overnight if you have jury duty in maryland you may not have to return to work the same day you are called intoserve. the maryland senate passed a bill now on to the statehouse. under virginia law bosses can't force workers to return to their jobs if they spent 4
