history in 2000. three tornadoes tore across rural southwest georgia and they practically bulldozed dozens of homes leaving behind scattered debris. 20 people killed and more than 100 injured. all right. let's talk about the temperatures this morning. definitely playing a big factor on whether we are seeing the rain or snow out there. right now, into baltimore right around 35 degrees we are seeing the freezing point at frederick and winchester. every where else above freezing in easton 36 and dc close to 40 degrees this morning. we have some dry air. so lots of what you are seeing on the satellite and radar this morning not really reaching the ground around our area. you have to go well to the north and points back towards the south and west to get in some of that snow action. and it looks like it's going to be heading our way pushing off towards the east as we go into the afternoon. but by that time, temperatures will have warmed up. so what we are going to get we could be seeing some rain showers across the area. and take the rain gear as you head out and about for today. and as we look at future trend,
6:54 am
not a lot to see. and we will have lots of clouds out here. the cloud will be an important role once again and the winds because the winds will be out of the south with that wind that southerly wind it's going to warm things up. and with the clouds, it's going to keep the temperatures a little bit at bay. so, the 48 degrees i am forecasting for today will be a little bit higher but we have the clouds. and unfortunately not a whole lot falling from the clouds so future trend goes into motion right now. and follow the line here the time stamp because not a lot of change in the forecast comes until we head into thursday. we will dry out nicely for the most part on wednesday. and by thursday, though, we have the next chance for rain showers. no type of snow in this. we have to wait until the seven- day forecast to see the next chance for snow. but for today, the neighborhood forecast into wood lawn coming in right around 47 degrees brooklyn park at 48 degrees. and again, lots of clouds around the area. and we will have a chance for some rain showers. big plans on the valentine's
6:55 am
day. so, as you head out this evening, well this is what it looks like. 34 degrees mostly cloudy skies and we will try to break up the clouds a little bit. but again, still a few showers in the forecast. and you are make the dinner plans and make sure to put the umbrella in the car with you as you head out and about and then by tomorrow the forecast looks much improved if you like the warmer temperatures. coming you in right around 52 degrees and we will have the sun cloud mix and it will be a bit more mild. we should be at 44 degrees for this time of the year. and we are looking at 52. we like that. at least some of you do. here's seven-day forecast for you. once again for today, on your sweety's day around 48 degrees and 52 as we go into wednesday and dry, and then the next chance for showers to work their way in here as we go into thursday and then sunday, that's a slight chance for rain- snow showers. look at this video. you can see drivers in southern missouri are having a tough time getting around because of wintery weather. snow made the roads slick in springfield and tow trucks were out in full force as cars got
6:56 am
stuck or not side of the road. we are definitely not dealing with that here today but speaking of the road let's go to angela with your traffic. how is it out there? has it been busy. >> reporter: it's been busy. we cleared most of the problems but we are going to go back to a problem we mentioned earlier. on the key bridge traveling on the east side of the beltway, we mentioned they had reopened the lanes and they reopened the outer loop lanes. inner loop lane at key bridge all lanes are shut downch the problem is we had a -- down. the problem is a trash truck and it lost a lot of trash on the bridge trying to clear that so we have shut down the inner loop lanes on the key bridge from peninsula expressway. traffic is stopped. now as you can see right here on maryland 29, u.s. 29 i should say maryland 108, southbound on right of the screen very heavy. west side outer loop no accidents but very heavy there as well as you can see here at old court road. that's the outer loop on the right side of the screen. >> okay. you remember when we were in school and gabe valentine's outto our school friends and because we don't want to be
