remember the friend e died when he leaned out of the car to throw up. police say the car carrying him was making a turn out of the auto zone parking lot in the 8300 block harford road when i opened the door and fell out and was hit and keeled by another car. -- killed by another car. >> he drank one of those energy drinks with alcohol in it that all these kids around here seem to think is okay. and he needed to vomit and he opened up the door and fell out and was run over. >> reporter: no charges will be filed against the driver who hit michael e was a student at -- he was a student at parkville middle school and will be in touch with officials to see if grief counselors will be on hand when the students return to school. the trial of george huguely is on hold because of president's day but jurors are expected to begin deliberation on wednesday. he is accused of killing his ex- girlfriend cockeysville native yeardley love in 2010. his attorney acknowledged in

the request from the defense attorneys is now asking for documents disclosing eye depthities and locations -- identities and location of the victims and witnesses. closer to home, a man has been arrested for an unusual crime, stealing grocery store carts. it was happened in st. mary's county. a 60-year-old man was taking carts from food lion and trying to sell them for scrap metal. police found him with 11 carts in the back of his truck and has been charged with theft as well as burglary. in dc a report released on sunday shows the metro is giving out a record number of tickets all for consuming alcohol while traveling. 97% of the roughly 1200 tickets were issued from january through october of 2011. all for alcohol violations. officials say you can carry the items but drinking them can get you a ticket. days before ash wednesday a celebration was happening in rome this weekend in baltimore -- and baltimore had a reason to celebrate. baltimore is the home of the first archdiocese in america

and edwin o'brien was the 15th arch bishop and he became the 4th cardinal in rome. baltimore never had back to back archbishop and becoming a cardinal was a first. he prepares to vote for a new pope and baltimore waits to see who will be the 16th archbishop of baltimore. the catholcommunity is proud. parishioners said they believe that cardinal o'brien always has special connection to the city of baltimore. >> very proud that rome we have a presence in rome and that he was considered by the pope and it just feels very i think it's wonderful. >> i am sorry that we will lose him as our archbishop, but i guess no one is indispensable. i feel good about it.

so bad. they are above average but the fact is we do have the wind today. being see the gusts up to 20 miles oop hour into center -- miles an hour into centerville. joppa we have a gust up to 26 and ocean city where we are seeing a little bit of snow across the area, gusts up to 41 miles an hour. let's go over to angela with a check of your traffic. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. an update on the early morning accident on the beltway. it's a little closer to security boulevard on the inner loop. the good news is it's very light traffic volume out there. so even though we are blocking a right lane of 695, still no major problems getting by. in the meantime, here's a live look at traffic flow heading out on monday morning on i-95 just north of the beltway. all lanes opened north and southbound. and here's 695 at harford road. your off-ramp at harford is blocked. we will keep you posted as to whether it will reopen sometime during morning rush. now back over to you.

and they do -- i do believe they will get a inch to two inches in the area but mainly on the grassy surfaces. weather pattern brings high pressure in here as we go throughout the day. we will get the northerly flow around the high. so, we will be breezy and check this out. we have the area of high pressure but then we have the system that passed through yesterday. so, between that high and low, you're getting the difference there and that's why we are looking at a pressure gradient that's going to be on the wendy side for today. future trend picking up on the fact that nothing is going to be happening following that timeline there until tomorrow. we will see maybe few more cloud moving in but we will be staying dry until the latter part of the week and temperatures are going to soar as well. but for today, we will be right around 48 that's two above where we should be this afternoon. mostly sunny and breezy and it will feel chillier. and by tonight, 28 degrees mostly clear and cold and tomorrow's temperature comes in at 52 degrees and sun and some cloud and -- clouds and it will be a bit more mild.

ecuadorian authorities are investigating a bus crash that left he 29 people dead. bus toppled over a cliff. the driver died in the crash. initial investigators show the driver was not authorized to make the journey in the first place but a red cross official blamed speeding for the crash. to greece where things are getting violent and continuing so over the weekend. scuffles breaking out between protesters and authorities. a gas bomb was thrown at riot police and one demonstrateor was arrested. the violence spiraled from financial status of the

country. lawmakers hole to get a bailout to keep from defaulting on debt. if approved it will be implemented during the next three weeks. a prison riot in mexico left 38 people dead in northern mexico. officials say inmates took one of the guards hostage during ongoing clashes. other inmates set mattresses on fire. no word on why this happened in the first place. authorities have not said if the dead are inmates or employees. dos -- dozens of people gathered outside the prison many family members wondering who has been killed. an update on a prison fire in honduras. the death toll at 359. it's dubbed the worst prison fire in a century. the latest died of kidney failure as a result of burns to more than 70% of his fire. the guard failed to on the cells leaving hundreds to burn or suffocate. the jail was also double capacity at the time of the fire and the investigation is ongoing but early investigators show that it was a result of an initial mattress fire.
