closed for president's day but students from parkville middle school spent the day piecing together the events that led to the death of a classmate. we have more on the death of a 13-year-old boy and the alcohol that allegedly contributed to his death. behind the balloons, the teddy bears and candles, there's an outpouring of sympathy for michael truluck. memories of his life give way to the debate of the alcohol allegedly behind his death. >> it's an energy drink that's alcoholic. kids can't handle alcohol like that. >> reporter: police say michael fell out of a moving car on har fire department-- harford road. others hope they can learn from the death. >> the energy drinks are a no,

no. if he hadn't been hit by the car, he could have died from a heart attack. he didn't have his seat belt on. he fell out of the car and was hanging out. >> while some of michael's friends refused to assign blame. >> i don't think he died because of the drinking. >> it's not the driver's fault. >> it's in the the person who bought the alcohol. it's nobody's fault. he asked for the alcohol. >> reporter: others say police should not let this go eye hope they find who gave him this drink because it wasn't funny. the boy was only 13. god help his parents. >> reporter: baltimore county police say they're awaiting the results of a toxicology test on michael. only then can they determine in he has been drinking and if they can pursue who might have provided to him. jeff hager, website whoib news.

issue of gas prices rising faster and faster each and every day. oil prices spiked to a nine-month high. that has caused someplaces to she this jump to over $4 a gallon. someplaces it has soared 18 cents a gallon. some experts think the naggal average will be $4.25 by late april. we may be paying $5 by memorial day. >> a lot of the gas prices will be tide to the -- tied to the economy. >> another circumstance could make things worse. iran is threatening to extend an oil embargo from france to britain to other nations because of sanctions over its nuclear program. as for gas prices in our area are, the rice is $3.59. mid-great trough -- $3.74. it ease up 21-cents in a month.

another one of those beautiful february sunsets. temperatures today up above average. 44 degrees at bwi. winds are north at five. it is a dry cool breeze to finish out what are becoming one of those longer and longer periods of daylight. let's talk about some of the southern snow time lapses, pretty good coating. watch it melt off as more and more ground and rooftops are revealed in the february bright sunshine. still a little snow in richmond. lower eastern shore quickly melting off through the afternoon. no question about that. just outside of salisbury where they did get a good coating. baltimore itself, basically the story nothing but sunshine where we did not see so much as a flake fly out there last flight. if you did see one in the baltimore area you blinked and missed it. crystal clear, dry. that's going to hold up. tomorrow the mid-part of the

week. temperatures comfortable, mid-40s to 30s west. ocean city at 40 degrees. i just want to show you the humidity has dropped significantly, so very dry air in place. maybe uprun the humidifier. comfortable and a light north breeze will keep things feeling chillier than they are. tomorrow we'll warm it up more, increasing clouds but dry. glen burnie to about 54 tomorrow. mid-atlantic view showing not a thing. out to the east we continue to watch the back side of that storm system blow offshore well off into the atlantic ocean. behind it nothing in our immediate future. we stay clear for tonight into the day tomorrow. high pressure sitting up over upstate new york, western pa. that will keep the dry cool breeze coming in. as that shifts that will mean the winds relent. we're left with some good conditions to see a bit of a warmup. our trend shows really a clear night on the way.

perhaps tomorrow a slight disturbance just off the coast could perhaps spin out a new showers. it will be rain if anything down that way around central maryland, just the variably cloudy skies as we go into tomorrow and wednesday. i think the best chances for rain holding whoever until later this week. overnight 30, mostly clear and cold. 53, increasing clouds, breezy but milder but it will be breezy. tomorrow 36 under cloudy skies. the seven-day forecast, i mean the story of the sweek a spring like surge. jamie's getting into the banal fever already. 60 on wednesday. 67 on thursday. i think d.c. could hit 70 on thursday, talking about snow in d.c. last night. 70 a few days later. >> great winter. >> been that scribed of february. >> -- kind of february.

>> they're having a skate-a-thon march the 4th from 12:30 to 3:30. they raise their money with the skate-a-thon. very proud. way to go. hey, there's another restaurant week coming up. it's the fourth annual restaurant week in annapolis. it runs through sunday. 41 restaurants are going to be in it. east port, west annapolis along with others. two course lunch specials $15.95. two restaurants, mills shirley's cafe and metropolitan kitchen and lounge are offering breakfast special. it's geared at locals. >> it's a great time for the locals to revisit downtown annapolis. i think a lot of folks who live in the area are always scared of this because of parking issues.
