their lives today. last night we had deadly accident in harford county. we lost three people. all siblings. they were riding in a single car together. state police are telling us that david bauguess and his younger siblings, ashley and joey died when the chevy cavalier crossed the center line side swiping another car. >> i told mi wife it was an accident she thought the kids had hit something or something. when they told her all three of her kids were dead, she lost it. >> look at the car split in half, making it difficult for investigators to determine who was driving. two people riding in the char that hit them are expected to survive. during last night's rescue in harford county, a medivac helicopter had its engine caught

fire. it illustrates the need to upgrade the state's aging choppers. as rosie leftwich live tells us, the delivery of the first new choppers has been delayed. >> reporter: delayed changes could mean the fleet will have to stay in the air a little bit longer. when you see a maryland state police helicopter in the sky, you know that somebody's going to get the help that they need. last night when responding to a multiple injury crash in harford county, one of the choppers had a problem has this was landing. >> initiated emergency landing procedures while he was doing that, a warning light lit on the cockpit dashboard. the crew landed safely a regular landing. when they exited the aircraft they saw one of the engines appeared to be on fire. >> reporter: the engine could be

safely transported by am blafnlts a second chopper was overhead and could have assisted. patient care didn't suffer but it brings back a big issue. the state's fleet of choppers need to be updated. they have an order in for the ones used in worldwide rescue and currently used by the new jersey state limits the first two to be delivered in maryland are on hold for now. >> they're in the process of negotiating that with the manufacturer. if that -- not if but when that is finalized, they then, as i understand it, it's a modification to the outside of the airplane. as to go to the faa for certification. that could cause some delays. >> reporter: the chairman of the house group says the state police wanted the modifications to help make the new choppers safer and work better for their

driver of a and the passenger of the ford explorer got out to exchange seats. the driver in another car said something. the driver of the suv and confronted the passenger from the other car. the passenger from the other car pros sudbrook started stabbing the driver of the suv. the driver sufficient the suv drove after him and they both crashed. the suspect held sudbrook down until police got there. he was treated at shock trauma charged with first degree assault. police are trying to figure out why a car crashed into a kentucky fried chicken. a bmw drove off the road, through the glass windows of the restaurant right during dinner time. they believe the driver is the person who lost his life but several people inside the store were hurt. a bill that legalizes

same-sex marriage is on the way to the senate. the judicial committee voted. they expect a final vote. last year the senate passed a similar measure 25-21. lawmakers want annapolis to talk about domestic violence and what they feel the government could be doing to help. lieutenant governor anthony brown testified before the senate finance committee in support of legislation that would provide unemployment insurance benefits for those who have to get away from a domestic violence situation. this will join 32 other states and d.c. that have similar laws on the books. jurors in the george huguely murder trial have had three days to deliberate. they will return to deliberate tomorrow. he is accused of killing yeardley love. he's facing six charges in all.

just head to abc2 news/health. >> two cancer drugs have short you isly. the agency is temporarilily allowing for a replacement to treat ovarian and other can serps and children with a type of lou keel ya. the fda says there are 280 drugs in short supply. a new study focused on plastic surgery found out that surgeons can tell a patient how many years younger they're going to look after a given procedure. the results were published in the journal archives of facial plastic surgery. the results aren't supposed to serve as a sales pitch but have -- help patients have reasonable expectations. look at this. we're on the roads, traffic moving nicely. let's check in with wyatt everhart to see what's in store.

14, gusting higher. take a look at the wind gusts. we have one or two and dover at the airforce base. zoom in a little bit and get an idea of what's coming up tomorrow, mid to upper 50s. we're talking probably 58, 57 federal. further south how about annapolis, one of those days if we get a breeze off the water we'll be a degree or two cooler. all right. take a look across the region. it is clear right now. nothing. some active weather that tried to come through really never got rain on the ground. just a little bit of ver garks rain evaporating. all we saw was cloud cover. there are some winter showers up in upstate new york far from us. they're whipping clear out of new england. i hesitate to call it a cold front. you sought temperatures will likely be warmer by late tomorrow afternoon than today.

the baltimore rotary club. they have been donating to schools for rears -- years. today mayor stephanie rawlings-blake joined in thaiz -- and thanked them. >> how important it is to have a dictionary at home. >> schools across the city benefit from the rotary club's donations each year. >> they highlighted the needs for better services for the disabled. they also wanted to thank the governor. part of the money raised by the tax is supposed to be used for the additional services. after the rally the group met with legislators to make their goals quite clear. i remember the days before copd.
