letter he apologizes for the choke incident and says that alcohol is ruining his life and that it scares him. let's talk about the charges that the jury is considering much the main one, first-degree murder. that can get you 20 years to life in prison. the key to that charge is you need intent. you need to mean to kim someone to be convicted of first-degree murder and alcohol is a defense for that. the prosecution is pushing for second-degree-murder. you don't need intent. you do need malice. you need malice to be convicted of second-degree-murder. below that you could be convicted of vol manslaughter or in-- voluntary manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter. george huguely, remember, is also charged in a separate charge with felony murder, in other words, murder in the commission of a robbery.

that charge could also get him 20 years in life. the prosecution is saying that george huguely stole yeardley love's computer and this one act was one criminal act. so all those things in addition to other robbery charges, that's what the jury is talking b we're at seven and a half hours. a few minutes ago a judge requested an update is to see how they're doing. we're supposed to be hearing about that right about now, about 5:00. so we could be finding out just how much longer this is doing to take here in a minutes. that's the latest from charlottesville. i'm christian schaffer. tonight baltimore city police are asking for your help after a pair of armed robbers gunned down a pair of customers. jeff? >> reporter: police have released surveillance pictures of the two men who robbed the

royal farms store and shot a customer in the process. baltimore city police converged on the convenience store in hamilton responding to reports of a robbery and shooting. >> at least two robbers, one armed with a gun came into the store and robbed the store of money and cigarettes. at some point, not quite sure when, but the gun was turned on our victims. >> reporter: police have released these pictures of the suspects who ran out of the store and escaped into the darkness. word of the shooting spread today prompting some regular customers to have second thoughts about the safety surrounding the place where he grabs his morning coffee. >> i'm not from this area. i'm from the country. those kind of things are new to me. it's surprising and frightening. >> reporter: police say the robbers used a silver revolver.

with a stab wound to his leg. he said his mom stabbed him. jacqueline natalie smith is charged with assault and child abuse. a crash kills two people in owings mills. many folks say it was accident waiting to happen. folks who live on mcdonogh road say that stretch is a raceway and they want drivers to slow down. roosevelt leftwich joins us with more. >> reporter: abc2 news has learned that the traffic will do a traffic survey on this road. they say one of the things that's been going on is the county police have been pulling over speeders and on painters mill road trying to slow folks down. folks say they want something done to prevent another tragedy. two people died at star circle and mcdonogh road. three large housing developments

are off mcdonogh road. folks say you take your life in your hands when you try to make a left turn. cars are going well over the 45-mile-an-hour speed limit when they're coming over the hill. >> it makes me slow my pace down a bit so i can control it if i need to make a jump or nays move, but -- fast move, but you never know. >> i don't know if it's anythey cran -- anything they can do. there's already a light. maybe more patrols, more radar. set up radar traps. i don't know what else can be done. >> reporter: it seems the county has been running a lot of radars. they have been really out lear in the past 15 -- here in the past 15 minutes or so writing tickets. you've seen them write four or five tickets. this is the first one on

baltimore area but three will be short lived. right now temperatures 61 baltimore. 60 in dulles. easton at 57. those winds gusty as they were yesterday at least around baltimore and washington we're seeing a south wind around 14 sustained. the region looks quiet other than the wide lie scattered showers to the west -- widely scattered showers to the west. none of it is all that impressive. there's a little wintry weather toward the great lakes and as this comes through later tonight, certainly keep the breeze up, maybe spark a few showers but they will be quickly finished. as we look at our trend, the model picking up on scattered rain activity toward 10:00. wouldn't shock me if we don't see much. thursday we're clear, clear through the early part of the
