getting you up to the minute a man accused of impersonating a police officer has been charged twice for the same crime. derek propalis' case dates back to 2002. he said it was role playing. we'll follow the latest case. one of the jurors who found george huguely guilty is talking about the case. ian glomski said the hardest part was looking at yeardley love's body. the smell of an oil like has made its way to harford county. it has leaked from the refinery in new jersey and has caused issues in three states. it was looking like we may have had another spring like day on our hands but unfortunately,

that did not happen. we're taking a look at harbor cam, kind of a gross day but will we be getting anything better for the weekend. let's check in with wyatt everhart. the good news is the high thunderstorm activity in southern maryland just about done. they had warm weather that helped fuel storms in southern maryland and on the lower eastern shore. we can see the last remnant of the storms are off of ocean city, a little bit of activity but central maryland, just a few rain showers, one toward bel air. watch for extreme southern maryland and some warnings toward worcester county. temperature wise, you can see what happened, mid-50s for baltimore and d.c. 76 in sals bury and in fredericksburg in the 70s.

high wind advisory. you cay gusts up around 30 to the west. they will invade and overspread the state. windy and foggy. 50 for now. much colder for the weekend. we'll talk about that straight ahead. the search is on for three men who attacked a couple walking to their car at the westfield annapolis mall. don harrison explains what police are looking for and how people feel about security at the mall. >> reporter: it's something thousands of people do every day at the westfield annapolis mall, walk to their car in the parking garage. yesterday that simple act turned into a nightmare for one couple. on the way to their car, the man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s were approached by three men. >> one of the suspects attempted to take a box from a male. that contained his laptop computer. he successfully got that away from the male. >> reporter: this was a

different outcome when it came to the woman. >> he tried to take her property but was unsuccessful. >> reporter: all the men took of into a bmw and took off. officials at the mall did not return hour phone calls. >> it happens everywhere. >> reporter: that's the typical response. some feel it's the sign of the times. >> they don't care about people the way they used to. the way the economy is, they're going to take it anyway they can. >> i haven't had any issues at all. >> reporter: she works at the mall and feels secure. >> i know after the holiday security is usually really good. maybe they should stick around a little bit longer so we can avoid this happening in the future. >> reporter: anne arundel police and other agencies are still on the lookout for that stolen car. in harford county police are

still investigating a deadly pedestrian accident involving a train. investigators say the train hit a person just after mid-night on old post road and low wis lane -- lois lane. the irs has $22.5 million waiting for maryland taxpayers who did not file a return in 2008. the money believes to about 24,000 of you. if no claim is filed within three years that becomes property of the u.s. treasury. for more information check out the full story on our home page. a new report from the piewp internet and american life project found people are getting more savvy when it comes to their privacy online. that includes restricting their profiecialtion taking people off their friends list. 44% of people surveyed said they've deleted comments up from

a georgia bus driver who was recently stabbed trying to break up a fight has been suspended. a surveillance video caught the argument.

when the driver tried to step in, one of them stabbed him. the passenger was arrested and the driver has been put on paid leave. two sisters had an incredibly close call with a train in delaware. a surveillance camera was rolling as the sisters turned on what they thought was a road and got struck on some train tracks. two men passed by and managed to get them to safety. she told one of her students to go back to mexico, but a california teacher is getting her job back. and forget the oversprayed updo and that uncomfortable gown. we'll tell you which app can make you feel like you're part of the oscars even if you're at home in your comfy pj's.

a teacher who was suspended last fall for making racial remarks to an eighth grader is being allowed back in school. supporters say she was under a lot of stress when she told the boy to go back to mexico. >> that's very disturbing. >> school officials say that teacher will no longer be teaching the same class. school officials in fresno, california are investigating a plot by students to poison their teacher. teaches ages 10 and 11 put rat poison in her coffee but had a chance of heart and knocked the coffee over. we didn't see any snow today but in iowa they got blanketed. lots of schools ended up closing

visibility. in the last hour we've improved the visibilities from what was really one mile to some more significant visibilities up to two, three miles 10 miles would be normal. you could see mid-40s. 50 in easton. 61 still in ocean city. 61 still in charlottesville but just to demonstrate or show how close that very warm air came, you can see places like fredericksburg, virginia to 70, and ocean city even about 60 degrees. all right. here's the overall situation. still some scattered showers around for the rest vive the evening. more significant thunderstorms possible for extreme southern delmarva. as we look out across the entire east coast things still pretty active. the wind and the cold, that's what's set to arrive next. you can see the area of low pressure spreading across the tennessee valley. our warm sector south of us.

at this point in time this looks like it will not make it much further north than it already has. the cold front coming through over the next few hours will ramp up the winds. we'll be looking at gusts and gusts could get over 50. here's our trend. scattered showers diminishing through the overnight and cloudy and windy conditions overnight and into the day saturday. our high wind advisories do expire at midnight. the winds stay high through your saturday, rather breezy. finally the winds let up. here it is for you overnight. we'll dry things out. we'll taper off the rain. but 38, turning colder. again, with the wind it will feel colder. definitely bring a fairly heavy coat. tomorrow 48, much cooler and, remember, we'll see some sun into the afternoon.
