temperatures today as the highs get down to about 5 # degrees. -- 52 degrees. still above average. rain pushes in going into tomorrow. another warming trend is in the forecast for us. but maryland's most powerful radar looks pretty good right now. we are nice and dry. we will stay that way heading throughout the day and we will see change in the forecast. but in the meantime, temperatures right now not so bad. close to 40 degrees instephenson and sykesville but we have the wind out there this morning. we have gusts up to about 25 miles an hour. and into stephenson and 22 in sykesville. let's check the traffic with angela. good morning how are the road this early? >> reporter: good morning. the roads are pretty good. had an overnight problem on 895. we have received word that all lanes are opened there. still doing maintenance at the tunnels but good to go elsewhere. the closure was near child street with emergency maintenance but as you can see here, on the live shot of 895 north of child street things are back up to speed and moving

pretty good. eastbound 100 in pasadena we have a left lane closed with the road crew between maryland 10 and catherine avenue but on i-97 you should be able to get through without obstructions. of course we will have changes and tweet them follow us all morning at maryland traffic. now back over to you. good morning. >> 4:32. a community is grieving this morning after a school shooting outside cleveland ohio leaving one student dead, four others injured. >> the shots were fired after 8:00 monday morning and abc2 news sherrie johnson has the latest. >> reporter: well, we have been working with our sister station in cleveland wews on this story to find out all new information. last night, a prayer vigil was held at chardon assembly of god church. it was one of several throughout the evening to pray for stewed ep, -- students, teachers and families. the community came together to support would be another in the -- one another in the time of

tragedy. around 7:30 police say t.j. lane entered the high school and opened fire in the cafeteria. 16-year-old daniel parmertor was killed. they say he was bullied because of his goth appearance but this morning many are trying to come to terms with the loss of their classmate. >> i accepted it happened but it has not hit me the full impact like what it is going to be like after this. and i am trying to plan my next move mentally with this whole thing. >> reporter: area clergy have planned another vigil for tonight at 7 at st. mary church in chardon saying it is time to pray and heal. coming up at 5, we will look at the family life of the alleged teen gunman. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. and new this morning, we are hearing from the student now reacting to two assaults on local college campuses. police are on the lookout for suspects after the weekend attacks. the first a female student at

the university of maryland woke to find a man touching her leg in her room. her roommate confronted the man who ran off. witnesses say they saw two men walking the halls jiggling door handles to see if were unlock. despite security, they are always -- there are always ways around it. >> they do that a lot if someone is behind you you hold the door open and that's dangerous. they are always warning us against it. >> the other incident was in d.c. near georgetown a woman was beaten and sexually assaulted while walking alone near a school. police say the two cases are not related. there's criticism this morning for baltimore city mayor after she announced a possible race in the bot -- raise in the bottle tax to pay for construction for city schools. the two cent per beverage bottle tax has not been in effect for two years and the mayor says she wants to more than double it. the mayor's bill came before members of the baltimore city

council and the five cent per bottle tax would increase the cause of a case of soda by a dollar. modern sizing -- modernizing schools would cost $3,000 and grocer says the mayor is targeting them. >> everybody knows the schools need improvement. my goodness what -- i thought there was money allocated for schools. where has that been going? >> both bills will be sent to the council taxation financial and economic committee. today in the house of approaching committee they will discuss the baltimore city school construction block grant and the transfer of pensions that hearing is going to begin today at 1:30. the bill would give existing capital funding to schools in a block grant allowing them to borrow large amount and finance the pay back later. time could be running out for the carousel in baltimore inner harbor. the baltimore velt corporation

customers evacuated a denny's. something from the bathroom had customers coughing. the restaurant was closed for two hours as hazmat crews were called to investigate the smell. test were trying to determine whether or not it was pepper spray. a 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in an attempted carjacking in detroit. it happened on sunday. police say 4 people were in the car and had stopped at stop sign when two people came up to the car and started firing. the driver was grazed by a bullet and the suspect turned out to be 15 years old. they are in custody and police say they were suspected in at least five similar carjackings. no one was hurt in a fire that broke out at fenway park where the red sox play but there was plenty of damage. some of the photos were ruined. there could be around 100,000 dollars in total damages. mostly from smoke and water. the boston fire department says the fire started near a light fixture and spread to papers and took about five minutes to put the fire out. and the character known

now good morning maryland. new details about a italian cruise ship that lost electricity. rescue vessels are on the way to the stranded coasta allegra this morning. 1,000 passengers are on board this vessel that's a sister ship to the costa concordia that ran aground last month killing 21 people on board. and police in thailand arrest another iranian suspect in connection with a series of bombs. he was arrested at a rental house where officers discovered a computer and cell phone. blast didn't kill anyone and police issued arrest warrants for five suspects and three of the five are in custody. the syrian government says the constitutional referendum hoping to invoke peace in the country passed with overwhelming support. nearly 90%. more than half of eligible reported cast their ot
