an ohio prosecutor says the 17-year-old suspect in the deadly school shooting yesterday didn't target his victims. at his first hearing today, t.j. lane admitted to firing 10 shots at chardon high school. three were killed. he is being held for at least 15 days. following that school shooting in ohio, roosevelt leftwich took a look at some of the cell phone policies at local schools to see what parents might experience if they try to reach their kids in the event of an emergency. many follow a no see no hear policy. some say it's a disruption but leave it up to school staff. a university of maryland freshman said she woke up to find someone touching her leg and going through her things. we'll have much more coming up at 6:00.

the base realignment brought new jobs to harford county. new a new study suggests building a convention center could help the county benefit even more from brac. >> reporter: 5800 workers traveled down interstate 95 at the new job at aberdeen proving ground. >> every event we've had, they have all been oversold. >> reporter: a new study suggests building a convention center would help double tourism over the next decade. the county must build up its marketing, its businesses and hotels to attract tourists. that's why the consultants are calling for a hotel tax.

center would pale in comparison to the baltimore convention center. a new study by the american water works association found that the u.s. drinking water system is in serious need of a very expensive overhaul. that could mean higher water bills for you. the researchers say the cost of the work would be about a trillion dollars and will continue through 2035. right now the average household water bill is about $335 a year. according to a nonprofit focused on drinking water. many could see water bills double or even triple over the next 25 years. experts say putting the water work off could end up costing us more. the federal housing administrations will knownals fha is raising premiums for homeowners. it would increase the cost of

known for public service but also their headline grabbing lives. abc2's jamie costello has more on the latest kennedy to end up in hot water. >> reporter: this is weird. this should be one of the happiest times of his life but douglas kennedy's wife gave birth to a son but the surveillance cameras captured what the nurses claim is a violent act by the kennedy. when they saw kennedy headed for the elevator, they tried to stop him. on the video you see his leg raised and one of the nurses falls. kennedy said he was trying to take his son outside for some fresh air. >> you ever hear of a two-day old being taken outside because they want fresh air. >> reporter: the nurses have

hired an attorney. the attorney said he has two other eyewitnesses to support his claim. the nurses said kennedy was acting strange, although nobody can offer any proof. >> more on that to come, i'm sure. monster trucks are supposed to crush cars but not like this. coming up why this truck driver is now facing charges and one teenager is emotionally crushed. a trip to the convenience store left one girl covered with cuts and bruises after an unexpected encounter.

employees at a 7-11 had to run for their lives as an suv came crashing through the convenience store. it went through a window and didn't stop until it hit the counter. the driver was charged with driving under the influence and also driving without a license. a florida man was arrested over the weekend accused of driving a monster truck right over a 16-year-old's first car. he flattened the toyota corolla while the crowd cheered him on. the teen didn't know what happened until someone told her.

it's all about patience. his focus is on next weekend's super tuesday states. he's aiming his attacks on rick santorum, hoping to be the conservative alter intive to former massachusetts mitt romney. you can probably expect all of these candidates to come out and explain how they believe the race goes on. things are getting heated between romney and santorum. romney may queuing him of playing dirty politics in michigan. tell me what's going on there. >> reporter: this is getting really nasty on voting day. michigan has an open primary. basically what that means is republicans and democrats can both vote. so you have santorum's campaign using robocals to try to get some of -- robocalls to get some of those democrats to vote for him.
