southeast of jupe lip, missouri -- joplin, missouri. you remember the deadly tornado there in may. >> we will stay on top of that situation. and let's talk about the weather and get to meteorologist lynette charles. >> good morning. yes, we have been monitoring the situation. so i have the radar up right now. and you can see some of the boxes here. these are tornado watches and this threat is pushing off toward the east. so we have tornado watch proportions kentucky and also in to tech see-- tennessee and illinois. we are looking at another tornado warning across the area. so this active weather severe weather will continue through the morning and this after --the good factor is we won't be involved in the severe weather throughout the day. once again, here at line of thunderstorms that sparked everything this morning. and it is pushing off toward the east. we have a vast storm system we are dealing with but the part we are going to go in on is mainly rain and you can see the rain back off toward the west.

this will move in as we go later into the morning hours and maybe around 10 we will start to see some of the rain and feel the rain falling from the sky. but once again, for us, no type of severe weather. maybe a rumble of thunder your run of the mill thunderstorms but not the severe level going into the afternoon. right now, temperatures are on the mild side. and in the 30s and cockeysville and more of the same in columbia. let's get a check of the traffic with angela. good morning how are the road. >> reporter: very busy out there. as a matter of fact, the wednesday morning commute turns out to be sluggish for a lot of people. we are used to seeing heavy traffic pattern on the west side this time of morning but in addition to the volume, we have got an accident taking two left lanes at frederick road on outer loop. and it's creating a major headache for those of you making that drive right now. here's a live look at 695 and baltimore. national pike down to a crawl for the most part. you may want to take the jfx or take 95 anything to avoid the west side of 695. as we look live at liberty road, you can see making your way through the stretch will take you at least 15 maybe 20

passed the general assembly. maryland marge alliance will fight to preserve marriage in maryland. governor o'malley plans to sign the bill tomorrow and it would go into effect next january. 56,000 signatures are needed by the end of june for a referendum to be placed on the ballot in november. the democracy 2012 politics and mitt rom any celebrating big -- romney celebrating big wins in arizona and birth state of michigan. >> we didn't went by a lot but we won by enough and that's all that counts. >> what is enough? the numbers show romney won in michigan with 41% of the vote. rick santorum not far behind with 38%. and ron paul was third with 12% and newt gingrich finished fourth at 7%. not nearly as close in arizona. mitt romney with 47 percent of voters support. rick santorum 27 and newt and ron paul with 8% of the voters support. next tuesday is the big day. super tuesday. 10 states voting in all.

one person is dead three people missing following a u.s. coast guard helicopter crash that happened in alabama. the helicopter was on a training mission when it went down in mobile. now two helicopters and the boat are conducting a search right now looking for the missing crew members. no word on what caused the crash but we will keep you posted as more information becomes available. a bizarre story in georgia. a deer attacks a young girl at a convenience store caught on surveillance video. the 11-year-old is a matha irons and her 8-year-old -- samantha irons and her 8-year- old brother were leaving when the deer came. >> i seen glass go everywhere and then i realized i am on the ground but at that time didn't realize what hit me. felt like a car. >> no doubt at all. she has a slight concussion and cuts and bruises. otherwise, though, she is expect to be okay. when a marine went to las vegas for a training session he got more than a mill dare --

now. and arkansas tornado warnings. for those little pink boxes, that's where you are getting tornado warnings across the area. here at home, we are going to be dealing with rain as we go through the remainder of today. but, the fact is we will be getting wet. it's going to be a chilly day. this morning, not dealing with so much and we still are dry right now. we are waiting for the batch of rain to move in and say about 10. let's check your traffic now with angela. good morning. >> reporter: good morning a. our biggest traffic problem continues to be the accident on the west side of the beltway. let's give you the particulars. it's on the outer loop at frederick roadblocking two left lanes with emergency vehicles and the accident vehicles and this is what it looks like here at baltimore national pike. now it looks like a parking lot more so than the west side of the beltway. the collision is occupying the two left lanes. give yourself extra time this morning if you need to take 695, from 795 to frederick road. this is also causing major problems on area roadways trying to access the beltway. eastbound i-70 southbound 795,

and westbound i-70 as we well eastbound i-70 southbound 795 and southbound on the harrisburg expressway. that delay up to 30 minutes. now back over to you. police ruled the death of a 5-year-old girl in baltimore city a homicide. abc2 news linda so is standing by with the latest details. >> reporter: we got our hand on the court documentsch the person of interest police had in custody has been charged in the case. according to court records, he is 22-year-old matthew carr charged with first and second degree murder child abuse resulting in death and assault and reckless endangermentch the 5-year-old was found -- endangerment. the 5-year-old was found dead. a 911 caller reported the girl was found unconscious in the bathtub. police were investigating the death as suspicious. last night it was ruled as homicide. a neighbor says he saw police take the man into custody. a preliminary hearing has been set for march 27th in district

court. linda so, abc2 news. 6:46. the latest this morning on the deadly shooting in northeast ohio. now a third student died after monday's shooting spree outside cleveland in chardon where we find josh booth live with what's happening today. since last we spoke so much has changed in this ohio community. >> reporter: yeah, you know, it has charley. thanks for having us again. here's the latest information. teachers are actually returning to school today. they will be arriving shortly. it's part of a process actually that will unfold over the next several days. students not returning until friday actually tomorrow they will come but be beyond by their parents for an abbreviateed stay at school. certainly when you hear the superintendent speak local law enforcement, politicians and the focus really is on the healing process here going into the next few days weeks and months down the road. it's been a short time since

maryland. the head of security for prince george's county schools has ideas. he is the former deputy police chief and says adults and students have to have an exit awareness plan by being familiar with the building. if you are stuck inside, he says while it may be tempting to hide in the bathroom or courtyard stay away from confined spaces. today panels of lawmakers in the house and senate on several bills will be designed to alter how the state levees fees for the -- levies fees for the support of transportation and operation. several bills were prohibited from making changes on toll rates without the approval first of the general assembly. other measures would increase the amount of state collects from other things like buses, light rail and subway. a senate panel that helps guide state spending will be discussing the big budget balancing measure. it helps balance the state budget but transferring money and taxes and fees and eliminating tax credits and exemption one more contentious
