we finish out the month of february. in a sense a little out like a lion because we have more active weather to the west with severe storms the cluster that will mainly bring rain. we think potentially two thunderstorms and you can see that next round already up over west virginia, tracking east, it'll arrive later this evening in the baltimore and across maryland. you can see where the watches and warnings are. extreme western maryland. we have severe weather warnings up for eastern tennessee. this evening 40s. a few storms to the southern and western part of the state. we will talk more about how it develops in to thursday, big change there coming up. >> thank you. >> tonight the latest on a developing story. police in hartford have stepped up patrols in a belaire community after a man exposed himself to a pair of girls on a playground. we have the latest. >> reporter: families on todd road are concern that the pervert picked a time when

buses were dropping off children to expose himself. it was here in a playground surrounded by townhouse complexes where two 13-year- old's saw a man with his pants dropped down watching them. >> it's not like they aren't watching the kids, how would someone have the nerve? >> reporter: the girls ran back to it their homes and told their parents who then called police. they were able to provide a detailed description of the man. >> the individual is 35 to 40- year-old miracle, white. >> reporter: monica of the hartford county sheriff's office offers tips for parents x&ioia>!c$juvápml7@>éb$

take a cell, call the police, let them know where you are seeing this, if you can keep a distance and watch them, try to do that but if the individual flees give the deputy the idea of what direction they fled in so we can locate them. >> reporter: as long as the suspect remains at large families here say they will remain just as vigilante as the deputies who stepped up patrols in the area fearful this incident will not be the last. >> i know my children feel comfortable with their children here but i have to tell them again no area is comfortable. you can't be -- you can't relax. >> reporter: two days before the incident near the playground a similar incident happened a short distance away in the 1600 block of rolling road. at this point police can't rule out it may have been the same suspect. >> thank you. now developing story, a 22-year- old is in custody accused of

killing his own daughter. police say he beat the 5-year- old after she soiled her pants. >> reporter: city police have charged matthew karr with first and second degree murder along with felony child abuse for the death of the 5-year-old. it happened in this house on calloway avenue in northwest baltimore late monday night. police say they got a 911 call from the home saying the daughter was in the tub and not breathing. she was taken to the hospital pronounced dead. police say doctors found injuries on the child which lead detectives back to the father. >> she had trauma to most of her body, doctors found fractures in the face, several ribs were fractured, and we needed a suspect. the only person that was home with her at the time was the father. with that said homicide detectives brought him down, interviewed him, quite

extensively. after which they came to the conclusion he killed her. >> reporter: this is a picture of the man. police have charged him with first degree murder, child abuse, resulting in death. assault anden dangerment. he was arraigned this morning in district court and is held without bond. >> thank you. the latest on a shooting of a sheriff's deputy tonight. the sheriff's office said the deputy shot in the arm and was taken to the hospital. deputies say he was shot while on a task force in cambridge. police say officers were working a barricade situation, the man was taken into custody. now to severe weather tonight. homes and businesses were divide overnight as a string of storms went through the midwest . in missouri authorities investigating the possibility that a tornado may have touched

mountain and do you see the couch that's there? that couch is from that hotel about a third to a half mile away. the national weather service has been busy. today they did damage assessment. they are looking for indications of how strong the winds will be. they say it's a tornado t will be a ef2. winds 120 to 130 miles an hour. kelley, they are saying at this is maximum it was four football fields wide. this was a massive storm. there is a lady that lives here on this mountain. they 81 and has never seen a tornado strike up on branson but it was a massive storm in this city, surprisingly there was not one single person killed, just a lot of injuries and a lot of clean up. >> all right. thank you so much for that. you be safe out there. the website is your source for everything that happens in

the south. you could almost make out the mildler area ridge over the lower part of the state with the highs in the low mid50s. i still look mainly for rain with this. there could be a few thunderstorms, the severe weather threat looks to stay to the west and its been a significant one for kentucky and west virginia. we will look for the next round of rain, one through, another coming through in the next several hours. lower pressure, cooler air and mild air just south of us. once again i think we will be cut off from the main warm air supply. once they clear we are looking for a mild surge. should push our temperatures up into the 60s. mid60s tomorrow. quite the warm up there as we go into friday a new rain system. this could bring showers in as we go into early saturday. we will see on that. overnight 45, scattered showers ending, late -- clearing, breezy tomorrow, 65, yes,

the sheriff's office is still looking for the man and is trying to see if this latest incident is related to one a few days ago. a 22-year-old father facing murder charges accused of killing his own daughter. police say matthew karr beat the 5-year-old to it death inside a home late monday night. medics responded to the call from the home and found her in a bathtub. they took her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead and doctors say she had fractures to her face. the death toll from those severe storms that hit missouri stands at nine. branson a town known for its county music there were reports of a tornado going up to the main road. hotels and theaters suffered damage and more than 30 people were reported injured. in illinois at least six died in the town of harrisburg after a storm leveled much of the town. nothing around here search voluntary severe to talk
