the shooting is under investigation. crews spent the day cleaning up after a massive fuel spill. fire officials say a train -- tank ruptured on the track just before about 9:30. authorities say the spill isn't a danger to anyone but it disrupted rail traffic. the department of the environment is handling the clean up as well as the investigation. realtors net annapolis rallying against a plan that would cap mortgage interest deductions. the cap is part of the budget proposal to reduce income tax reductions for high income earners. they argued it would just make it harder for existing homeowners and discouraged new ones. and a piece of legislation called the rat control bill was introduced. it was asked so consider banning other states bringing rats into maryland. some other states have put laws that don't let rats be killed

or released sot bill prevents them from ending up here. tomorrow in annapolis, the governor is set to sign the same sex marriage bill into law. it would go into effect next january but there is already an effort underway to fight it. a group called the maryland marriage alliance said it'll collect the needed 56,000 signatures to force the measure to a vote on the ballot coming up this november. taking a look at the storeys around the nation, not only was it a cheap one but a worker at a fish market in kansas said someone left a tip that was offensive. a customer left two cards on the restaurant's counter reading you have been paid a friendly visit by the kkk, should we pay you a real visit? the owner was shocked. >> they have a right to feel how they want to. we have no right to take that but just keep it to themselves.

plus hours jamie has been hanging out at the hospital as this year's batch of leap babies welcomed in. how many you got? >> reporter: we have four. four babies have been born on this leap day in 2012 and two more are still in labor. we don't know if they will deliver tonight or wait until tomorrow but it's a long -- a long process here. it all started here this morning at 2:33 with quite a surprise. a woman had to call the police when her water broke. she is delivering daniel and guess who is the life safer? her mother. her mother was on the phone with the police getting coaxed, told what to do. she followed instructions and laid a emotional kiss on her grandson. she is the one who is the hero here and after diedra delivered

at home she brought her in to the hospital so she is the first, daniel is, the first baby leap year baby of 2012. now listen to this. daniel, his brother was born on christmas eve, his other brother on new year a day and his sister was born some day in april. we have had a baby born to a mother who had a birthday today so now we have back to back leap days, and then tonight we have a lot of women who have already checked in and -- i would call it like leap year phobia, they don't want to deliver today. dads we had a dad come out and just broke down, crying emotion, hugging his mother and mother-in-law and father and father in law. broke down in tease. we will show you that and then we walked back and it was funny because the nurse was coming in with the baby and said do you know how to change diapers and

he said no. he will learn. it's a lot of emotions as you can well imagine. four babies, four babies born, two more waiting, could happen tonight we will be here for the duration as we look at the leap year babies born at the hospital. >> all right. thank you. great work out there. as we celebrate leap day and leap year, some researchers over at the university think they have come up with a way to get rid of it. they have a new calendar that basically makes every 12 month period the same to the one before it. if christmas is on a sunday this year, which it does it would be a sunday forever year to come. the calendar would give march, june, september and december 31 days. all others would have just 30. you can't get rid of leap year. people look forward to that.

. all right caught obtain tonight a police officer in china jumps into action to stop a mother from jumping off a bridge with her baby in her arms. drivers called the police after seeing the woman on the ledge of a bridge with the child. the officer goes up on a bike and up to the woman and just like she is about to jump he rushes in and pulls her back toward the road. the mother and child were taken to a police station for questioning. family problems sparked the attempt. a horse in a sticky situation. a mom and her daughter were riding along avalon beach when the horse started sinking. it's a race against time to get him before the tide came in. they had it sedate the horse th

through the overnight, we will get the precipitation out of here, the triple points. the core of the storm system will pass over. mild air will still be poised to move in and we look for a significant warm up. here is the timing. rain on and off through the evening, tapering off to showers by 11:00. the heart of the storm system, could be breezy by tomorrow. a rapid warm up and then tomorrow night a cold front comes through, dry, that will mean a cooler friday and then friday night into saturday. another system could bring showers into the first half of the saturday. we track that closely on the weekend forecast. 45, with scattered showers ending out there tonight. tomorrow the two degree guarantee, 65, again quite the warm up from today's numbers and then tomorrow night, cooling off as the wind shifts out of the north and west. here is the seven day forecast looking ahead and we find the numbers bouncing around here. 57 on friday, 60s as we go into
