and live streaming video in the palm of your hand. to the developing story out of arundel, a jury indicted leopold, he is indicted on charges he misused his protection squad. leopold had officers drive him to parking lots, he would have them wait for him while he got in to another car to have sex with another county employee. leopold needed an officer to work overtime to prevent his girlfriends to run in to his live in partner. christian schaffer is talking to leopold and we will have more tonight on abc2 news at 11:00. arundel count pli police solve a rash of home burglaries and another one pops up in the same area. daniel hackly was the last of accused burglars to be picked up last night. they were responsible for daytime home burglaries in the

glen burnie areas. another one popped up last month in severn and handover. there have been 8 daytime home burglaries with the thieves broke in and stole jewelry and electronics. police have yet to develop leads in the crimes and asking for your help. >> we don't have information on a suspect or whether the suspects are using a particular vehicle. we need assistance from the public. we want to hear from them. >> police say they are adding patrols in the areas of the latest crimes. one person was burned in a house fire on longwood in southwest baltimore, firefighters say they had trouble with the fire because of what is called heavy debris in the house. the person burned was taken to the burn center, a cat did not survive this the fire. the cause is under investigation. seminary avenue is closed after a water main break in the area between charmless and delayny valley roads. the repairs will go through rush hour. no word yet on how long that

will take to repair. 24 days and counting, we end up paying more and more for gas. this year, there is a 10% rise in oil cost. national average $3.74 a gallon. gas prices have never been this high at this time of year. that fact makes it harder for lawmakers to consider the governor's gas tax sales proposal. don harrison is annapolis and talked with the leaders to get their take that is at volatile as the gas prices themselves. >> reporter: the president of the senate, mike miller, the same-sex marriage issue has been handled in annapolis, issues like the gas tax will be moved to the end of the session. legislators can wrestle with a budget that has a gaping billion dollars hole. if they can't add to the budget, they have to subtract. >> strong possibility of more cuts. we have alternative of cuts to

higher education, public education, medicaid, if we can't find revenues, then the cuts are going to go in place. >> reporter: as the price of gas is increasing, the possibility of the gas tax seems to be decreasing. >> close up to $5 a gallon. i don't think there will be an appetite for it. >> it's walking in to a nightmare that working families are experiencing throughout the state. >> we will call ourselves swim tax season. >> reporter: she has her kids here for a swim meet with travel to practice and games, any increase in gas hurts. >> i understands the state's economic constraints, but i think the timing is bad with the uncertainty and the expectations that the gas prices is going to keep rising significantly. i think those two events make it an impossible time to raise the tax as well. >> reporter: the gas tax may seem in doubt, legislators

as it stands, the same-sex marriage law is set to go in to effect in january. police officers in baltimore are not allowed to ask people about their citizenship status. rawlings blake issued executive order today stating that. the order bans the use of city money to investigate or question anyone suspected of violating federal immigration laws unless required to do so by the government. this is days after immigration and customs enforcement said it would be checking on the immigration status of people arrested and booked in local jails in baltimore. >> making sure that people know that our police are doing their job to make our cities safe, when we are not immigration agents. >> mayor rawlings blake says police officers will work with agents that want to make the city's policy clear. mayor did not respond to

million in overtime over the last four years. the majority of the overtime went to school systems police force and temporary employees. the president of the board is quoted as saying the profession could not be considered a 9-5 job and needed to look at jove time cost because of the tight financial times. $10 million at sparrows point could become idle. union officials say market conditions are to blame. workers were given notice before christmas and the company is laying off 720 workers. operations started this year, no word on the future of plans. we want to update you on the story we first brought to you last month. people living on coon hunt court trying to get the county to training the street's name complained it has offense icon notation dating back decades. the county will take up the

through. we had a few storms rolling through our area. mainly down to the south. rain is coming through. most of it is sprinkms at this point and city of baltimores you can see off towards del aware, that's is we are with seeing storms floating through. this was the fist round of storms we still have a second round of storms and there it is, really scattered in the area. then south just to the south in to dover, off the eastern shore, that is where it's a little bit more heavy at times. we are seeing picking up half an inch in some places, we do have flood watches up we will be talking about, coastal flood advisorys for baltimore and to the south anywhere off of the bay, really, that's where the coastal flood advisory, stays until 7:00 a.m., we have flood watches. that's to the west, central maryland, western maryland, anywhere from montgomery county, and howard county to the west and through virginia and the shenandoah valley, flood watches up until tomorrow

morning as well. now, temperature as little bit cool outside, if you are headed out, you are going to want to wear the jacket. chilly rain, 46 degrees, humidity is up. 93%, visibility down to just about half a mile. if you are headed out, make sure that you keep your eyes on the road, because with the rain out there, you are making the drive in treacherous commute. annapolis, see the rain moving in, the heavy clouds started off as a dee decent day. here comes the rape, and just as quickly as it moves in, it is moving out. we have a second round on the way for tomorrow morning. right now, temperatures down to 46 degrees in baltimore, 45 dels. 43 winchester. cooler air western maryland. humidity up, of course with the rain coming down, anywhere from about 90-100% humidity.

the highs today, we made it in to the 60s yesterday. not quite today. we made to it 52 degrees, to the south, we have a warm front that is going to lift up through the north, that provided us with moisture and that's what got some of the storms going here in our area and the rain going in our area. there is thunderstorms moving in to the atlantic, that was the first round. seeing scattered light showers now. second round out to the west, that's the same round of storms that left over 50 tornados through indiana, through kentucky and tennessee, four confirmed deaths. this is the line of storms coming through tomorrow. it's not going to have the gusta once it gets here tomorrow morning. we could see severe thunderstorms, thunderstorms coming through, but i don't think we will be severe as it gets here tomorrow morning. everything is out by 7:00 or

8:00 a.m. we will see breezy conditions. there is the rain there, future trends showing 6:00, everything moving up to the north, and to the east, then as we head through tomorrow, 10:00 a.m., a lot of stuff to the south and east of us, clearing on the backside, we will see sunshine as we head in to tomorrow afternoon. we cloud up once again in to sunday. overnight, 47, rain showers, few thunderstorms, as we get through tomorrow, two degree guarantee, 52 degrees, late day clearing, in to tomorrow night, 34, partly cloudy, colder and much breezier and that will set us up for sunday. we are looking at clouds through sunday, temperatures going back up to 60s. they drop next week. high pressure building in, with sunshine. cooler temperatures towards normal. we will have more on the tornados in the midwest on world news tonight at 6:00. >> absolutely. the ravens made a big move this afternoon designated ray
