i will show yaw that in a minute and maybe a -- you that in a minute. and maybe a afternoon rain. unseasonably cool. winds will pick up and warm and wet weather by the end of the week. in terms of your wet weather, maryland's most powerful doppler radar not picking up on anything. we can see blue here to the north. there's snow showers into northern pennsylvania. but then as we look towards the west here, we are looking at the blocks of blue. we have a winter weather advisory into virginia and west virginia. for those areas they could get 1 to 2 inches. and we could get k4reu7d as the- - clipped as the clipper system comes through. but now a check of your traffic with angela. >> reporter: good morning. roads are looking pretty good despite the fact we are starting off with an accident. an arundel county police say youshouldn't have too much trouble getting by the incident. traffic flow is not too heavy. so it shouldn't be a problem

traveling in that area. traveling through the city, overnight maintenance operation in effect until 5 this morning at the harbor tunnel. but you should be able to get through the two-way traffic pattern on 895 with no delay and here's first look at the beltway this morning. all is quiet on the north side of 695 making your drive past green spring avenue. megan over to you and good morning. it's 4:32. today the families of two women killed on april 16th, 2007 in that mass shooting on virginia tech's campus will be -- will be in court. they will request university official and police under oath. the families had two students known about the gunmen they would have died. the university did not notify students immediately of the situation and a jury is expect to be seated in the case today. we have new information in the developing story after a 13- year-old girl was found dead in northeast baltimore on sunday. >> she was found in the backyard of a home and sherrie johnson is here with all new details this morning.

>> reporter: we have learned the 13-year-old girl's name was monet turnage an autopsy will be performed and the body was found a sunday around 6 in the -- in the 1600 block of cystview avenue. -- cliffview avenue. her body was covered with plastic trash bags in the backyard of a home. she had signs of trauma but they are not saying exactly how she died. she was pronounced dead at the scene and family members reported her missing about 1 a.m. on sunday. she said she was going skating but she never returned home. >> at this point, we don't know whether or not she made it skating and that's what detectives are interested in finding out. we want to talk to whoever she was supposed to be with. whoever left her there figured they could hide the body there. and that's where we located her. >> reporter: if you have any information on the investigation, you are asked to call the baltimore city police at 410-396-2012. coming up at 5:00 a look at

another child killed near that same area. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. and new details, a 3-year- old harmony was picked up by her father after being left behind at chuck e. cheese shewept up to a employee asking for something to drink and noticed she didn't have anyone watching her. she was left behind around #:30. we called harford -- 8:30. we called harford county and her father was on his way. police think a large group came in and forgot and left a child behind. police are investigating three shootings that happened early sunday morning. officers were called to the 4500 block of marl hall road around # -- marble hall road around #:306789 they found -- 2:30. they found terrance joyner. police are investigating the shooting in the 1,000 block of north gay street and 600 block

of at that poemic treat -- potomac street. five men were stabbed during a fight just before midnight on saturday. the men told deputies they were walking from a gas station on hanson road when men attacked them. all the victims are in stable condition this morning. in howard county a police officer is recovering after being hit by a drunk driver during a traffic stop before midnight on friday. officer terrance shepherd stopped the bmw at route 29 when the cruiser was rear ended by a keya and pushed the bmw he pulled over. the driver of the keya was arrested and charged with dui. today more fallout could come from the indictment in anne arundel county with the executive john leopold. >> it could a put the police chief on the hot seat as well. and linda so is standing by with what is expected for today. >> reporter: well, we have learned the fraternal order of police will meet to decide if

police chief should step done accused by some not taking enough action after learning of the allegation of the county executive. leopold was indicted accused of misconduct in office. state prosecutor says leopold use the executive detailed funded by taxpayers to drive foo into parking lots and wait while he got into another car and had sex with another employee e made security drive into location to steal campaign signs in 2010 in the enindictment says the security complained to the superiors including the police chief. >> it's my understanding the drivers their supervisors and others went to the chief himself, they went to others in the chain of command and they were reporting this behavior on a consistent basis and waiting for some relief. >> reporter: now the police chief released a statement saying "i have no intention to resign and i am going to continue to serve anne arundel

on sunday bringing the death toll to 39 people now. in alabama, the governor toured the damage there. and offered words of support to residents who are cleaning up and rebuilding. >> one of the things that the lord doesn't give us the ability to foresee the future and that's kind of good. we have to be prepared. and it's so nice to see all the wonderful volunteers out here today and i am thankful to see how the people in alabama care about each other. >> a lot of stories to tell you about the storms state tuned for g. and we will have live reports from indiana. that tornado throughout alabama remember the toc cay lose cay -- tuscaloosa tore nato. -- tornado. >> and it's so hard to sea and you have to fill in they have to clean up and we have snow in the areas. so some of the hardest hit

bedroom. national sleep awareness weekends with the start of daylight savings time this weekend. remember to spring forward. more on that throughout the course of the week. your children's sleep is a hot topic. new studies shows kids who snore will have other sleep related breathing problems and behavioral problems later in life. researchers surveyed the parents of 11,000 children and parents were asked to track a child's snoring. by # years old children withsleep disordered breathing were 20% more likely to exhibit behavioral difficulties later. >> for adults when you've bad night's sleep you don't function well the next day. this is true for children and adolescentsp when they do sleep well, they do support in school which may translate to poorer controls of their behavior.

worst side effects include strokes and blood clots. cbs says the pre-- cvs says the error is a rare occurrence. you can see him locked up look in the rear of the video and officials say it was to protect himself and others. 18-year-old matthew shipe was arrested on practicing medicine without a license after officers say he lied to get a job at amedical senter. portland man was pulled from a freezing river and a good samaritan credited with saving his life. you can see him jump in and pull the man to safety. rescue crews say hypothermia could have set in if the good samaritan didn't respond. the man and the rescuer are expected to be okay. dozens of volunteers went under the raiser to raise money for great cause part of the fund-raiser which benefits families dealing with childhood cancer. more than 90 people showed up.

let's get to business right now. there's lots to talk about. right now, you can see the temperatures are cold enough to support some snow. if that happens, we are at the freezing degree mark into baltimore. and 30 degrees in york pennsylvania. 34 coming in easton along the eastern shore and dc around 33. and you have a better chance of seeing snow showers because that's going to be staying to the south for today possibly. so the winds will be another big factor. not so bad right now. you can see it out of the south and west at 5 miles an hour. easton at 3 and these will be picking up as we go throughout the day. and they will switch to the north as well. the satellite and radar shows what's going on. not a whole lot right now. but you can see the clipper system back off towards west. lots of snowfall into west virginia and some into virginia right now. so the virginia is getting slammed and they have a winter weather advisory in effect there one to two inches of snowfall. now the big deal is whether this system stays to the south of us or if it just tracks

about 50 miles to the north and yes we will get snow in here going through the morning and possibly as we go into the afternoon mixing in with rain. but here's system. we have the upper level trough and you can see the purple dotted line. once this swings off towards the east this has to get out of here. that will keep the chances for some snow in the forecast for today. high pressure will build in behind it but before then, yes, we have a chance for snow across the area for this morning. so i will put this in motion and you can see it slides to thesouth this model tries to keep it into southern maryland but again, once again if that tracks to the north a little bit, maybe about 50 miles we could see snow as we go through the morning hours. this gets out of here and we will see lots of sunshine in the forecast as we head into the tuesday. and even into your wednesday. but for today, here's the temperature for you. it'sing about to be cool. 46 and mostly cloudy and breezy and it will be chilly. let's check the traffic with
