smoke, there's fire. >> reporter: community and faith leaders gathered in annapolis to push for a tax on smoking. they want to include cigars and chewing tobacco. the proposed increase would be more than a $1 or more on cigarettes and in an increase from 50 to 60 cents on other tobacco products. >> it has broad popular support. >> you have some i.d.? >> reporter: it may not be a good time for francis keller. he said the tax is already too much of a burden. >> the total rough the bill is $922. the tax collected between the feds and the state is $405. the amount of tax they intend to increase, it would put me out of business. >> reporter: dwight wilcox has been coming to the smoke shop

babe bib -- baby and a woman drove erratically passed her and flipped her off. not only was smoke pouring out of christian's ears but she noticed black smoke coming from the jeep. 33 seconds later there's the woman's car and the tree and both on fire. the woman was on fire struggling to get her burning car out of the -- her daughter out of the car. >> i told her to get out of the car and roll to get the fire off of her. >> reporter: even though the woman gave christian the finger, christian gave her a hand to save her life. christian said she doesn't consider her a hero but hopes it inspires others. keep your hands and fingers to yourself. >> definitely will lesson learned there. there are heroes every day

>> an oregon man has two brave police officers to thank. they ran to a car that hit a utility car, flipped over and burst into flames. the officer found the driver still in his seat. >> you got one person in the car, unconscious, unresponsive right next to a huge fire. >> eventually the officers -- >> hey, are you okay? >> eventually the officers crawled through the passenger side because the driver's side was too close to the fire but they managed to pull the man out to safety. firefighters in massachusetts got an early start battling a huge fire. the fire started around 2 a.m. more than half a dozen people are homeless because of the fire. at least one of the buildings

actually partially collapsed. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. police are looking for the person who stole this school brush and crashed it into a parked car in philadelphia. this was the second school bus stolen this week. the last was hot wired by three teenagers who took it for a joyride and they are still out there and have not been caught. a lot of people have problems with their neighbors but one michigan neighbor is trying to figure out how to deal with a turkey. it's huge, weighs 35 unders -- pounds. edna says every time she leaves the house it attacks. she has used an umbrella and broom. your collection of ipads may be growing. now the extremely popular tablet is going hd.

race even though romney is claiming he's picking up the most delegates and the one who's best in place to clinch that nomination. >> looking ahead to the next couple of weeks and next couple of states, who stands to benefit from the primary calendar? >> reporter: kelly, this is totally different, especially when we start talking about next week in alabama and mississippi. you'll have rick santorum and newt gingrich really duking it out in those two states. santorum's campaign said they're planning to spend about $1 million in tv advertising in the next three states to vote. this is interesting because santorum himself has not asked for gingrich to drop out but the super pac is afraid the two candidates are splight the conservative vote and making it that much easier for mitt romney.

millions of college grads will be heading out into the workforce in a few short months, but the job market is really a tough one. when it comes to wages, young people are getting hit hard. we have the details. >> reporter: despite signs of improvement, young adults are feeling the paint average income for those between that 23 and 29

have been declining and the losses since the recession have been more pronounced. entry level wages for male grads dropped 11%. wages for female graced dropped 8% according to a new report from the economic policy institute. these numbers are adjusted for inflation, so this really show as strong downward trend. in terms of actual dollars men with a college degree makes about $21 an hour. women make less under $19 an hour or $39,000 a year. it takes people much long tore pay off their student loans and it limits their spending which in turn hurts the economy. plus, their ladder to success is taller, meaning it takes long tore get the pay they want. while the trend is not favorable for college graced, these are still good salaries. the government said the average hourly wage for all workers in
