like. >> you know what, we are starting out on the wet side. but we will get gradual clearing. we have a few showers and we will be dealing with gusty winds this morning and the temperatures will be dropping off going into afternoon. as of now we can see wet stuff basically to the south of baltimore as of now. we go ahead and zoom in on the areas around annapolis. you are getting moderate rain there. and along highland beach all this is sliding off along the eastern shore. graysonville moderate rain showers. heading out to morning. make sure to have the rain gear. you will need it in the areas. we are looking at a little rain sliding up to the north and east galena getting a shower across the area. we will talk about the rain and when it gets out of here. that's coming up. but right now let's check the traffic with angela. good morning. how are the roads because of the wet weather. >> reporter: good morning. actually not too bad. dealing with one incident so far. it was not -- it was an

overnight accident and police say we should be out of there shortly. trying to clear a pole out of the roadway in owington between 5th and the pole down as a result of the overnight collision. hopefully it will be gone. we are not too bad for a friday morning. traveling through the city on the inner -- interstates both moving well. we are looking good on 695 at poff dense road. all lanes -- providence road. all lanes opened except with the ongoing two-way operation on east side at curtis creek draw bridge. baltimore city police brought town a major gun ring. >> they worked with agent from homeland security making the bust and linda so is here with more on how police uncovered the ring. >> reporter: it began when wit handgun and that investigation is what led them to the major busts. police in the eastern district confiscated 16 firearm handguns and semiautomatic weapons. they found 8,000 dollars in

cash and ammunition and two bulletproof vests and raw heroin. police searched three homes in the city, one home in baltimore county and one storage unit in the city. three suspects have been arrested. they face federal charges. >> it goes with the commissioner's plan with getting the bad guys with guns off the street and repeat vilen o-- vile nd offenders. the guns are take lives. >> reporter: the police were able to obtain the search and seizure warrants for the homesand storage unit afterwiretapped jailhouse conversations. officials are asking the judge to keep a gun law permit in place. the motion was filed yesterday after a judge benson leg ruled the requirement residents show good and substantial reason to carry a handgun as unconstitutional. state is asking him to clarify the plan to issue an injunction barring the state from denies permits base on that

requirement. two people are dead this morning seven others injured following a shooting that happened in the psychiatric hospital in pittsburgh on thursday afternoon. police have not confirmed but they believe one of the two people who died is the shooter. it happened in the lobby of the clinic part of the university of pittsburgh medical center. a post to the hospital twitter account says there may have been a second shooter but that's unclear. police are investigating this morning. services for a teen shot in northeast baltimore will begin tonight. her funeral is set for tomorrow at the southern baptist church on chester street at 11 in the morning. the viewing will be held at the same location tonight. police say the two boys were playing with a handgun or a rifle rather when the 13-year- old monet turnage was shot. after the shooting, police say they hid her body behind a house and buried it under trash bagsch the boys have been charged with involuntary manslaughter. new for you calvert county

sheriff deputies are look into the death after a -- of a newborn. deputies say family members of the owner of the car were cleaning the inside of the carjust after 6:30 last night when they found the baby's 3w0dy. the -- body. >> the cause of the baby's death is under investigation. also this morning, for the second time, the robbery of aroyal farms store involves gunfire. >> federal agents believe the same man is responsible for both crimes. sherrie johnson is live with more. sherrie. >> reporter: all right. we are here live in hamden in front of this royal farms. we had an officer sitting outside of this royal farms so we can already see some added police presence here this morning. now the robber has already shot one victim at point blank range and then the latest incident he fired a warning shot. fbi is pulling out all the stops to try to catch him. look at this video.

see if you can recognize the person. this royal farms store on 41st street is the second store hit in the middle of the night. now police say the suspect isn't afraid to use the gun when demanding cash. agents have the violent crimes task force believe suspect shot a customer two weeks ago at a store on harford road who refused to give up his wallet. >> that means they are more dangerous and violent and they need to go off the street before somebody really does get killed or hurt or they shoot a child that's innocent. >> he is standing there just watching. >> reporter: if you recognize the robber or have information to help police, you were are asked to 410-265-8080. you could be eligible for anaward of over 200 dollars and you don't have to give your name and you can anonymous but you could be eligible for a reward. sherrie johnson, abc2 news.

in a bad strain of the flu. earlier in the week we told you about the family members in calvert county. this morning the surviving members of the family are showing improvement. now experts say that the flu strain was complicated by a bacterial infection. governor o'malley spokesperson said on thursday he would likely veto legislation to legalize medical marijuana. she says that because of a concern over whether it would stand up in a federal scrutiny maryland legislators will begin to debate three medical marijuana bills in house today. maryland health secretary is expected to testify that his agency cannot support any such bills. and other health news caring for millions of americans with alzheimer's will cost about $200 billion this year. that's according to the alzheimer's association. that number is expected to jump by more than a trillion dollars by 2050. medicare and medicaid pay 70% of the costs. one in 8 older americans will have alzheimer's disease.

charged with sexually abusing -- abusing several boys. the mississippi supreme court upheld the pardon from a former governor that he granted on his way out of office. the ruling came on thursday in a 6-3 vote. remaining inmates will be released from prison today. four of the convicts were pardoned and were in prison for murder. they worked as trustees at the governor's mansion. >> come to mississippi and commit crime and get out of jail free card. we don't -- the justice system works in mississippi. the sent ns he got for the crime he did was right. it was not -- sentence he got for the crime he did was right. it was not harsh. he did 17 years what message does that send to the people that are -- it's okay to kill your wife or your girlfriend or kill somebody that's or try to kill somebody that's made you mad. if you can get to the governor's mansion, hey, you know, they are going to let you

go. >> stay tuned this morning at 5 and 6, we will have a full report and hear more a those personally affected by the pardons in mississippi. a school spokesman and chief of the campus police from virginia tech testified in a civil trial yesterday about the 2007 shootings on that college campus. several families are suing the school for wrongful death. they say the school didn't do enough to protect the campus after the dorm room homicide earlier that morning. 33 people were killed including the gunman. miami high schoolteacher is out free on bail after being accused of drugging and molesting a student. police say the jimmy vega drove a 15-year-old female student to the lake near the school. investigators say she told her mom vega a gym teacher asked her to spoke marijuana and that's when the alleged sexual abuse took place. vega has been reassigned to a job away from children. school district says school board meeting. it's 4:52.
