earlier. julie reporteded that but you are drying out. i appreciate the report. and this is starting to slide off around denton and easton. in care line county you are getting the -- caroline county you are getting the rain. things will improve out there. things are going to be looking up and we will get more sunshine in the forecast and temperatures will begin to fall. i will have more of that coming up but right now let's check the traffic with angela. good morning how are the road because of the wet weather. >> reporter: good morning. the road are actually doing okay. we had a couple incidents overnight. had an accident in owington and got that out of the way cleared the pole down patuxent road has reopened. but we are moving pretty well especially on the major roads right now. as we look live at 895, this is north of charles street heading to the harbor tunnel shouldn't be delays in the southbound direction. heading to 695, on the harrisburg expressway, not bad as of yet in the southbound lanes. and here's a live look at traffic on i-95.

just north of maryland 100 we are moving well especially getting busy in the southbound lanes heading towards prince george's county and a quick note for mta commuters, rail service on time this morning and no major bus delays or problems to report. back over to you. new this morning, hundreds of thousands of homeowners could see deeper reductions in the mortgage principles and for -- than first thought if bank of america gets it to go through. deal with the u.s. government is separate from the foreclosure settlement. "new york times" reports the bank hopes it will reduce the amount of money it owes in penalty under the settlement. paperwork could be filed as soon as today. early tax filers may wonder where the refunds are. the irs had glitches with the new computer system and that delayed some payments for weeks in some cases. the agency changed systems to combat the identity theft and the irs official cleared the backlog so filers could be seeing cash soon. but, if you filed electronically and haven't got your money yet, head to irs.gov

and click where's my refund to check on the status. to a developing story this morning. for the second time a robbery at a royal farms store involvesgunfire. federal agents believe the same man is responsible for both crimes on harford road and on west 41st street in hamden. sherrie johnson joins us live in hamden with more. sherrie. >> reporter: well, yes, i have been on the phone with the fbi trying to learn more information about this case. and actually we are standing right in front of the royal farms on 41st street in ham den. -- hamden there. has been police presence all morning at times officers are sitting outside the royal farms or even driving by checking on things. the fbi is involved after a robber shot one victim at point blank range. take a look at this video of the suspect. captured on camera at royal farms store on west 41st street, a hooded figure entered the store in the wee hours of the morning. he demanded cash at gunpoint and steps around counter to

grab the money and fires a warning shot as he leaves the store. all of this in less than 60 seconds agents say he is the same one who robbed a royal farms store on harford road two weeks ago and shot a customer who resisted giving up his wallet. word of this robbery put businesses on guard. >> i am here a lot by myself at night. doesn't make it comfortable when you have this. >> reporter: now if you recognize the robber or have information to help police call the fbi violent crimes task force at 410-265-8080. and you know you could be eligible for a $2500 reward if you place that call. so again, officers are recommending if you know anything, go ahead for a reward. reporting live in hampden sherrie johnson, abc2 news. looking at news around the nation this morning, pittsburgh

mayor says a gunman who opened fire in the lobby of a psychiatric hospital at the university of pittsburgh was armed with two semiautomatic handguns. two people died including the gunman's and 7 others injured. this happened yesterday and police have not confirmed if an officer is the one who killed the gunman. still not clear what sparked the deadly event at the clinic. governor o'malley says the hbo film "game change" chronicling the 2008 campaign of mccain and palin brought in $27 million and created more than 1200 jobs while filmed here in maryland. it what dc premier last night at new seem. >> it's almost like working on a independent movie where you have no budget and 30 days to shoot it. i exed the ground -- expected the ground to shift and it was reliable for me. >> the movie has been criticized for focusing on a two chapters of the book.

now "good morning maryland." 16 minutes before the hour and mississippi supreme court upheld the controversial pardons from former governor haley barber he granted on his way out of office. linda so is here with more on the outcome. >> reporter: the vote was 6-3. justices ruled the pardons may not be voided because the final decision rests solely with the governor. barber pardoned 214 inmates before leaving office in january. four were convicted murderers who worked as trustees at the governor's mansion. the state's attorney general challenged the pardons because no proper notice was posted in newspapers as required in the constitution the state. also some argued victims and their families were not notified before the inmates were set free. >> although we were prepared for this verd being i guess or decision -- verdict ies guess or decision i -- verdict i

guess or decision it took the wind out of my sails. >> reporter: the lawyer for the remaining inmates in prison says they will be released sometime today. linda so, abc2 news. an update on the lottery winner we told you about yesterday who was still on food stamps. turns out she was cut off she won a million dollars but continued to use public assistance. state officials found out and stopped the benefits. in michigan, what she did technically is still legal however lawmakers have intoe duesed a bill to change that this session. new this morning, police in washington, d.c. right now are trying to determine who is sending suspicious envelopes to schools and restaurants in the area. police say that two were found this week and they both contained a white powder substance inside. the letters are not addressed to anyone in particular. they are working right now to determine what exactly that substance is. turns out that one elementary school in southwest dc did receive an envelope yesterday and it was found before the students arrived to school. >> it could be a serious thing

anything could happen in this day and age. >> turns out fbi agents are investigating the possible link to close to 20 letters found at the schools and restaurants from here in dc to dallas and alabama of course. they say new york city received some similar type of substances and they have tested that and they tested it and say it came back harmless. 5:47 and new a poll showing if same sex marriage were on the ballot it would be a close race. the poll commissioned by marylanders for marriage equality shows 52% of respondents would probably or definitely vote for the bill. 44% would probably or definitely vote down the measure. governor o'malley signed it into law last week and opponents to the new law are working to collect the needed 56,000 signatures to put it on the ballot come november. >> today maryland law makers will start debating several bills on medical marijuana.
