find a lawyer to protect me. they don't protect me. >> reporter: if the legislation does pass any of the medical marijuana bills, the governor said they would veto them. in annapolis, don harrison, abc2 news. first anne arundel county executive john leopold was indicted. last night the fire chief john robert ray received the same treatment. the vote came down 396-14. the union said the effort had been planned long before leopold's indietment. they said the main issue is staffing and there are 60 unfilled positions leaving working firefighters at a potential disadvantage. ray responded saying i have proudly served the citizens of anne arundel for 34 years and

frigid winter. >> you know i don't like surprise. all right. moving on to democracy 2012, unemployment has been a huge topic on the campaign trail as candidates fight for the presidential prize. emily schmidt joins us from washington with the latest on the intersection of jobs and politics, emily. >> reporter: the question is which party are you in? president obama likes this, 227,000 jobs created in the month of february. republicans are focused on an 8.3 unemployment rate. they are pointing out that's unchanged. it's definitely creating a lot for them to fight about. president obama spoke at a manufacturing plant in virginia touting the new jobs report that his policies are working. >> our businesses have added nearly $4 million new jobs. last month we added 233,000

private sector jobs. the economy is getting stronger. when i come to places like this and see the work that's being done it gives me confidence there's better days ahead. the republican national committee was quick to respond saying today's job report is another reminder that far too many americans are out of work and the situation is clearly not improving. millions of families continue to feel the pain of the sluggish obama economy. some of the republican candidates were sharply critical. >> the only reason it's down to 8.3% is people have quit looking or dropped out of the workforce. >> see that more jobs, less debt, smaller government. that is what we want and that is not what we've got. >> reporter: this shows all this red, all the jobs that were lost first under president push and then under -- bush and then under president obama and then
