psychiatric evaluation. he intended to go on shooting rampage at 1:30 today at the university of maryland mall. it left many students unsettled. >> i don't think anything is going to happen today, but obviously, somebody felt driven to kill people on campus, at my school and that's very sad. >> police said they recovered his laptop but no weapons. brian kuebler will have much more on the investigation and why police believe song planned the attack. that's coming up at 6:00. demand -- a man is in police custody accused of stabbing his girlfriend's son to death. police said officers were called to pyxwood drive around 10:00 after the 28-year-old man took himself to northwest hospital where he died a short time later. so far, no charges have been filed. the judge overseeing former

penn state assistant coach jerry sandusky heard arguments from the defense attorney. they're asking for more information about the information from sandusky's accusers to help prepare for trial. sandusky, who remains on home asanement did not lay tend the trial. >> charged with 52 counts of very serious offenses, even if you're convicted of a few of them will likely put you in prison the rest of your life. >> the trial is set to begin in mid-may. >> tonight we're learning more why the late joe paterno was fired. the former coach failed to follow up on sex abuse allegations, citing a failure of leadership a -- paterno said a

a deadly school bus crash in indiana. one child was killed along with the driver of the school bus and two other children in critical condition. police say the bis was headed to a charter school with about 50 children between the ages of 5 and 16 onboard when it crashed into a bridge abutment. >> going to be a difficult day. i have small children. i have grandkids a hard thing if' got kids the -- i've got kids the same age. you can only imagine what the family is going through right now. it's just a tragedy. >> police say witnesses didn't report seeing anything out of the ordinary before the crash. a spokesperson for the fire department said investigators were also looking to whether the driver had some type of medical emergency. in washington state a school bus with 39 children onboard

left the road and ended up rolling over. a medical helicopter was brought in for three children. police say the driver was not injured and no other children were involved. >> the suburban mother of four accused of running a prostitution ring was back in court. >> she is being nicknamed the madam mama. now prosecutors say she made millions of dollars running a broth them and should have to pay for an aattorney but one woman came forward saying she worked as a high priced call girl for gristina. her thorn said she charged $2,000 an hour. >> anna gristina is portraying

these last days of winter looking like they'll feel like anything but. it was plenty of blue skies, lots of sunshine. kent island, a gorgeous shot over the mighty chesapeake. the weather is holding up. what about ocean city. so very few people out there in this part of early march still. maryland's most powerful radar, any active weather, some yes. we're tracking a line of showers pushing into deep creek lake just a slow moving line that will diminish somewhat overnight. not that we couldn't get a couple of showers but i think the better chance will hold off through the day tomorrow and especially as we go into tomorrow afternoon. right now of temperatures 0 at dulles. 62 patuxent river. 68 in dover. 67 in hagerstown. winds are from the south, southeast. for the most part it will be a

steady flow out of the south keeping things warm. so far we don't have the humidity but we think the humidity will increase as we work into the day tomorrow. that will help a couple of thunderstorms. right now we don't have much thunderstorm action to the west. as this line centers over hoyer state, temperatures shoot up to the mid-70s. we are certainly in a very warm air flow, and there is going to continue even after that line of showers potentially moves through the day tomorrow. we still stay warm. this is not going to be a true cold front passage until at least the end of the week. take a look at the trend here. timing wise any precipitation should wait until morning. a few hit and mills showers. the better chance is we'll stop at 6:00 picking up with the inhouse computer model an a line of showers, thunder showers, so we will be watching for that tomorrow afternoon but for now it will be quiet.

with aspirations of becoming designers. students are on the right path. this 7th grader wants to be an illustratetor. >> so i can exdevelops my talent and i can't be afraid. most people at this school have the same ideas. >> people like me come here to learn how to design clothes and how to do stuff like great art and it's going to help them in the future oar here the baltimore design school focuses on three specific areas of design, including fashion design, architecture and graphic design. students learned the foundational skills in their classes. >> this is the first school in maryland to focus on design. educators want to give them every opportunity to succeed in life. >> we have so many kids who are creative, love to draw, paint, design. giving them an opportunity, they

19-year-old alexander song was arrested sunday morning. police say he posted his intentions on two websites. investigators were able to trace the ip address, which led them top song's dorm room. song intended to go on a shooting rampage. police said the warrant was at his parent's home and they recovered his laptop, but no weapons. police are investigating after shots were fired at businesses on main street including the u.s. tae kwon do academy. vandals may have used a sling slot.
