in nebraska. the weather is expected to move towards the east affecting nebraska, iowa, and possibly as far as texas. flood watches are in effect for much of oklahoma through wednesday. good morning maryland. i am sherrie johnson in for megan and charley. we have information along due to fog. queen ann's county school will be on a 90 minute delay. no a.m. kindergarten because of fog there. let's head over to meteorologist lynette charles. seems like fog is causing a bit of a problem this morning. >> yes. we have foggy conditions out there. i will show you the numbers in just a second. but as we look at maryland's most powerful radar, we are talking about severe weather across the middle of the nation i don't believe we will get in here today. we have a chance for isolated showers or thunderstorms to pop up in the afternoon. but all in all, we can see the complex trying to dive down into west virginia as of now. it's going to miss us. we get more sunshine in here. we have the chance. temperatures right now, mild and they are above average. manchester coming in at 52

degrees. good morning hereford 50 and woodbine at 46. now we look at the visibility this morning. it is reduced and we have an update in baltimore. four mile visibility and seven in easton and take it easy on the roadways. speaking of the roadways let's go over to angela whow a check and that's the -- who has a check and that's for the weather and roads. >> reporter: the big story of the fog and we talked about how quickly things can change on the roadways just as we got an accident on the bw parkway. police are trying to reopen a right northbound lane 295bw parkway at maryland 450 and we are getting reports of heavy traffic as folks are slowing down to get around that incident. here's a live look at bw parkway and baltimore beltway increasing in volume but moving at a pretty good pace. see the foggy conditions. a live look at wilkins avenue making the drive through catonsville increasing volume foggy conditions as always. we advice you extra caution and courtesy on the roadways.

frederick douglas high school. check out the website for a list of events in honor of youth violence prevention week. and texting and driving has become a serious problem. especially among young people. today the national organization for youth safety is teaming up with at&t to teach student at mount st. joseph's high school about the dangers. the students will watch the documentary the last text which shows the people whose lives have been impacted by texting behind the wheel. things look normal in downtown baltimore this morning, but that was not the case on st. patrick's day evening. hundreds of teens and young adults went running from the inner harbor to street. look at this video here. now we aren't sure what led up to the chaos so we do know it started around 9:30 saturday night and lasted until about 11. police were called in from districts all over the city to help. we know at least one person had

to be tased. and police are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who they say left a construction worker he hurt on the side of the southbound interstate 95. it happened saturday morning. the worker was hit just before the caton avenue exit. police are looking for a silver or gold colored sedan with front end damage. the construction worker was laying concrete when he was hit and anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-537- 1209. and police are still investigating a crash that sent five special needs adults to the hospital on sunday morning. the crash happened in arnoldch the van carrying the special needs adults collided with the car near the intersection of college parkway and peninsula farm road. 7 people were injured including both drivers. all of the injuries are said to be minor. in garrett county, two kids and five adults are hospitalized this morning after being hurt in a crash at a cardboard box derby. -- derby. you can see it in the video.

cabanach the pregnant woman died at the scenech the driver was seriously -- scene. the driver was seriously injured. a mother is charged for allegedly watching her 17-year- old daughter strip at a club. she complained to the media a few months back about the club hiring her underage daughter but surveillance video shows her giving her daughter money. authorities say the woman encouraged her daughter to strip. and an 83-year-old west virginia man is waving up behind bars -- wake up behind bars accused of murdering three people. police say two women were found shot to death inside a home in fayette county. a third man was found outside the home trying to crawl to a neighbor's house and later died. authorities say howard curry is charged with those murders. time 5:40a couple delays to bring to you. kent county school is on a 90- minute delay due to fog and queen ann county school is on a 09ment delay because fog. and coming up, what causes people in some cities to be upbeat and positive than in

time is 6:47. in consumer news, the national average price for a gallon of gasoline rose again this weekend. prices rose to 3.84. that's now only about 7% below the record high of 4.11 back in july of 2008. in 7 states, the prices are already more than $4 a gallon. the spike in prices led to speculation that the u.s. and britain may release strategic oil reserves in the next few months in order to help boost the supplies and lower crude prices. the white house has denied this. and in the wake of the pump increase, bp reported a unit trip and system shut down at the more than 400,000 barrel per day whiting indiana refinery. it's located in the northwest part of the state and the incident took place sunday afternoon. authorities say it led to nitrous objection side sulfur dioxide and there's no -- emigs and there's no word how it

about we talk about fogp one big cloud at the surface. we have the visibility reduced this morning. baltimore coming in right around 4 mile visibility. and easton is 4 as well. this is gone down and we are watching the eastern shore this morning. and we have some school delays because of the foggy conditions. right now, temperatures are above average but they are cool. hereford at 49 degrees. and the reason why we are cool while we are getting the bay slow influence this morning, that eastern flow, so northeast feels like 46 degrees and is 46 degrees this morning. and chestertown 45. rock hall 46. so what i suggest is grab the jacket as you head out and about this morning. also, you might want to grab the rain gear, too, there is a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the picture. this is what it looks like for this morning. looks like it will stay away from us. but going into the afternoon there is that chance for the showers and thunderstorms to pop up around us and maybe even move into the area. no type of severe weather for today. and here's the hour by hour
