see it along i-495, if your travels are taking you that way to the south, you are seeing heavier rain around white oak, more along i-95, again, it's going to be slick this morning. also, it is going to be on the foggy side. just lake we had yesterday, visibility is reduced to one mile in baltimore, three miles in easton. we have delays this morning. now, let's get a check of the traffic with angela. slick roadways and foggy conditions, not making for a good commute. not a good combination. dealing with the fog this morning. it could be a slippery commute out. there live to a picture, to show you, this is what it is looking like in queen ann's counties u.s. 50, very, very low visibility in the area. we are seeing westbound delays on 50s to the chesapeake bay bridge, folks are taking their time. this morning, a very slow drive on southbound i-95s heading towards the capital beltway

this is a live view, through columbia, prince georges county. southbound 295ing the bw parkway, maybe a better bet this morning. we have new information for you this morning, developing story, about a 17 year-old african american male who was shot and killed near his home in florida. the man confessed to the shooting has not been arrested. we are learning new information in the case. sherrie johnson is here to tell us what the latest details are. >> this is the case that's gained national attention. a lot of people are talking. new this morning, federal prosecutors and fbi have opened an investigation in to the killing of 17-year-old trayvon martin, the justice department will send officials to florida to investigate and address tension in the community. martin was shot and killed by a watch volunteer, while walking back to his father's house from sanford. the parents say they believe race was a factor in their

son's death. family members say the police have shown blai tent disregard for justice. this weekend 911 calls were released on the tape, you can hear someone yelling for help, a voice analyst will be conducted. the operator told zimmerman not to follow trayvon but he didn't listen. neighbors called 911 to report a fight. when police arrived, trayvon was dead. he was carrying a bag of skittles and an iced tea he brought from a convenient store. there is a hole in my heart for my son. he was a baby. he was my baby. i don't understand why somebody can just take his life. >> zimmerman has not been charged. he told police he shot the teen in self defense. police have no evidence to

westbound delays on u.s. 50, slippery conditions for those of you traveling on i-95, pretty much from to 495, capital beltway, you are going to hit the brakes on southbound i-95, suggest the bw or southbound 29, as alternate routes this morning. flags lowered in honor of a soldier killed in the line of duty. o'malley ordered u.s. and state flags be flown half staff for major robert martianty, he was killed in a government building in afghanistan. martianty will be buried with full military honors happening at arlington national cemetery. we are expecting a news conference in annapolis. it's about the tobacco tax. a 25-year-old believes chewing tobacco caused him to develop oral cancer and asking lawmakers to raise the taxes on smokeless tobacco like cigars

as well. he is scheduled to speak at a x÷ news conference today. advocates say lit stop children from using tobacco. baltimore county school board wants to build a school on a site off of padonia road. sherrie johnson is here to tell us what they are upset about. >> a lot of different opinions. tonight the school board will vote on this proposal overcrowded schools have been an issue. the board came up with the plan to help relieve overcrowding in the area by building the school at the park. more than 200 people showed up at a hearing to voice concern, right now the playing fields and walking trails are used by people who live close by. an elementary school would take up half of the site. some worry that's too much. the school system does own the

land. administrators have always planned to put a school here. parents who attend overcrowded schools in tow zonks lutherville and timonium agree with the proposal. >> once again , the board will vote tonight on the issue. back to you. education partnership between maryland and italian schools is going to be renewed today. the superintendent is headed to washington to sign mar referendum on this. this will come as no surprise, teens love to text. the research center found 63% of all teens exchanging text messages everyday with people
