accident activity off to the side as you make the drive towards 695. traffic getting by without any major delays. new information on breaking news that we have been following all morning long after a raid on a house in france the suspected shoot freer the jewish school shooting that happened earlier. sherrie johnson is here with the new detail. i understand that you got brand- new information. >> reporter: that's right. we have -- we've learned that france's interior minister said that the gunman expected in the wave of killing has stopped talking to police and that authorities actually have been monitoring him for years. and we're just getting this information in. that raid is going on in france there. it's underway targeting that gunman. he's suspected in three shootings that killed three jewish school children, a rabbi and three paratroopers in recent days. the man has thrown his handgun out the window but he has other

weapons on him, including an ak- 47 assault rifle. judicial officials said that the suspect's mother, his breath and a companion of the brother were detained for questioning. and the mother was brought to the scene but they say that she was of no help because she is of no influence to him. we're being told by france that a gunman suspected in the wave of killings has stopped talking to police. back to you. calls continue for an arrest this morning in the man that fatally shot a florida teenager but has not been arrested or charged. a march is planned in new york city. and greg black brings us new

developments in this case. >> reporter: outsage steam in the trayvon martin case with a rally in sanford florida and a march for justice in the state's capital, tallahasse. the teen was fatally shot by george zimmerman last month. zimmerman said that he fired in self-defense. and the police say they have nothing dispute his claim. >> we want george system man arrested for -- george zimmerman for killing trayvon martin in cold blood. he had a 9mm gun and trayvon had a bag of candy. where is the self-defense in that? >> reporter: more than 700,000 people have signed and on line petition to get zimmerman prosecuted. a million hoodies march in new york city has been organized in facebook. and the goal is justice for martin who was wearing a hooded

a second man was found in the house by paramedics. there were reports of gunfire. but there are no reports of anyone getting hit by gunshots. no arrests have made. we'll keep you posted. later this morning, state police will hold a news conference to discuss maryland's move over law. they stay two recent incident results in injuries shows there's a new need for public awareness about this. a reminder to drivers to move over when emergency vehicles are working on the side of the road will be painted on police cars. an suv slammed into a pump and burst into flames at this gas station. the driver pulled out in front a yellow hummer. and she ran into the gas pumpp, it caused a fire. she managed to escape. no one else hurt. and no charges are expected to be filed. a four-year-old girl is getting hailed a hero this

this story is abuzz in tennessee. tommy was heading out for breakfast and he found thousands of honey bees nesting in his car. he didn't want to kill them. so he drove about 60 miles an hour down at highway. but that did not work out. so he decided to call a bee keeper using a box of honey. and bill hughes tried to lure the bees out and it worked. but the bee it's not stay. before he could transport them, they swarmed into a tree. >> all the bees came out of the tree again and got back in the engine of the car. three or four pounds of bees, 20, 25,000. >> by the next day as suddenly as they appeared, the bees were

good wednesday morning. i'm megan pringle. a lot going on this wednesday morning. sherrie johnson previews the mayor's budget that will be unveiled this morning. and linda so is live where gop mitt romney makes a stop by our state today. and we have angela getting a check of your morning commute and then we'll go to lynette charles with a look at your forecast. dense fog advisory is the big story again for today. it's in effect till 10:00 a.m. and we had it for frederick county and points south and even in southern maryland. we'll deal with the dense fog.

there. we have breaking news this morning. french police officers have exchanged gunfire with a man they believe is in involved in the killing of three children and a rabbi at a jewish school. we learned that according to french interior minister, the gunman has stopped talking to the police and we know that the authorities have been monitoring him for years. the suspect threw a handgun out the window but said to have other guns. he said that he'll turn himself in this afternoon. the suspect claims that he does have connections to al qaeda and wants revenge for the killings for children in the middle east. they have the suspect's brother, mother and companion of the man in custody this morning. time for democracy 2012 news. with 54 delegates at stake in illinois, mitt romney will take most of them. he has claimed victory in that

state. but rick santorum will take some of the delegates. he followed romney with a close second. then newt gingrich is continuing to focus on the conservative south. the next primary is in louisiana. romney is hours away from speaking in maryland where he'll visit voters in a town hall style event. that is where linda so is. >> reporter: that town hall meeting is expected to start at 3:30 this afternoon. and it's open to the public. so everyone is invited to attend. this is romney's only stop in maryland. earlier in the week, the campaign said would he stop in annapolis and frederick. but those were canceled. this is ehrlich's hometown. romney's visit comes two weeks ahead of maryland's april 3rd primary. maryland has 37 delegates up for grabs. if you plan to attend at 3:30

when it begins, you're advised to get here early because space is limited inside the american ledger. live, linda so, "abc 2 news." maryland's primary is scheduled for april 3rd. early voting begins on saturday. if you one more information, visit abc2news.com. baltimore city mayor, mayor rawlings-blake will release they are 2013 budget. >> reporter: in a couple hours, mayor rawlings-blake will introduce her preliminary budget plan at the board of estimates meeting in city hall. the mayor is trying to reduce a $48 million short fall. there will be less taxes for ús and pensions and how much of the cost be passed on to the city and health okay the city is reduction health care by $20 million. and it is important to note that the police department is fully funded. there is a plan to hire hundreds of new police officers

and fully fun the city's obligation public schools. it will permanently close three fire companies and could shut down several recreation centers. the mayor will submit her budget proposal to the board of estimates at 9:00 this morning. and it will go through several committee meetings and public hearings. the board of estimates could vote on it in june. and it would go into effect july 1st. the maryland state senate and house of delegates should be at -- are at odds what should be cut. the house's version raises tax cuts. maryland senators are hearing testimony on a bill that would require hospitals and abortion providers to

report the number of pregnancies they terminate. they would collect the information of the woman that have abortions. and it would have to include the prior pregnancies that the patient had. it will not consider the patient's name and neither will it be considered public record. about 165 kids each day end up in the emergency room because they got into their parents' medication. experts do recommend that you lock up all medication and lock item in one place and buy child resistent packaging as well. doctors at the university of maryland medical center have completed a facial transplant. they completed a 36 hour operation yesterday. the hospital is the second in the nation to perform this type of facial transplant. more details about the surgery and the 37-year-old patient that underwent the procedure will be released in a news

conference happening sometime next week. safeway announced it will no longer sell ground beef that contains meat filler known as pink slime that is waste trimmings that undergoes the process to separate muscle from fat. safeway cited considerable consumer concern. 70% of ground beef in the united states contains pink slime and the trimmings are approved by the usda and at the do not have to have a label listed warning consumers. officials in frederick are taking the next step in conduct a hotel and conference center. they are meeting today to discuss the criteria choosing the site. they expect to have the issue requested in may informing property owners and the developers about. >> t we'll keep you post -- about it. we'll keep you posted on the story. how would you like to own a

that region. children from henryville, indiana will be going back to school. time for a check on the weather what is going on? it's good that indiana is try for today. but back off in the west, there's a big plume of moisture. and the big plume will slide off in the east. and could reach us as we go into the weekend where we have the chance for more showers and thunderstorms. we zoom in around the carolinas and also virginia. that is what is popping up there. but closer to home, we're dealing with lots of fog. and that will be scenario as we go through the remainder of the morning and early afternoon. so visibility is reduced four miles in baltimore and dealing with one in a lot of spots this morning. so take it easy on the roadways. future trend picking up on a couple of isolated showers in the afternoon, especially if we get more sunshine a little early.
