harford county, there was a raid in a home. the deaths occurred in the same home on locker ri road where officers seized animals last year home to return them. >> reporter: count this dog has one of the lucky once. when officers raided this home on friday, they said they found a dead dog and cat inside and plenty of others that had to wallow in their own stench and feces with no food or water. >> there were 27 animals. on any given day we have 34 dogs in our shelter. that's a lot of dogs. for someone to have them in their home, it's unreasonable and unfeasible. it's not good for the animals. >> reporter: this beagle named dpaf foe dpil will remain at the harford county facility until i. the owner is no stranger to

animal control. >> we dealt with the last individual last summer in reference to beagles she had taken away from her. they were relinquished back to her. so it is a little disturbing. while shelters like this one last the resources to match pets with new owners, it appears her beagle rescue left it in need of rescue handle hoarders can love them to death. >> take someones who passionate about dogs and cats and they want to save everything they can where mentally they don't realize what they're doing. at that point it gets to the point they're not helping the animals, but hurting them. >> reporter: in harford county, jeff hager, abc2 news. >> well, the seized animals will remain in limbo at the shelter until an investigation is finished or the owner gives them up for adoption. nine dogs remain in pens, four

more than the county allows without a ken them in licensed. new development unless the death of a baltimore county firefighter last year the fire started in the kitchen and ultimately took the life of firefighter mark falkenhan. kelly swoope has more. >> reporter: the investigation revealed the number of secondary causes for the fire that led to his death but nothing to a direct calls. the 84-page report was compiled by fighters -- firefighters and union members. they looked at pictures, did interviews, even createdjf model tools outline what happened the night falkenhan died. the report outlines his final moments as he called emergency and said he was trapped on the third floor under heavy fire. recommendations included the need for crews to stick together and that everyone should carry a portable radio.

the hand of government in the marketplace and excessive regulation and larger and larger taxation, that he kills dreams and dreamers. >> reporter: she says at this point she's not sure who she will vote for. she's disappointed in all politicians. she wants someone who mr. tell the truth. the grandson said he wants the same but someone who will work for his future. >> still undecided, but he's personal personable -- personable, has a religious background, how capitalism is a good thing. >> i needed to come here with him because he's a die-hard republican. he wants to convince me that i need to look at the other side. i think he's trustworthy.

the events unfolded on spectator lane. it started out as a fight. a mother is recovering right now after police say her own son attacked her using a hammer. police said robert benscoter repeatedly hit his mom in the head and body with a hammer. she is in shock trauma. he is charged with second degree attempted murder. eight years ago a triple murder shocked a community. there are still delays in the retrials. two have been in custody since may of 2004. that's when three children, three relatives were found nearly beheaded in their home. the first trial ended in a hung jury. the second trial was overturned due to a mistake. now we're on our second delay of the retrial and still no word when trial will happen. an odenton man is under

arrest after hitting an officer with his vehicle. they pulled over davis. that happened near donaldson avenue in severn. police cased davis after he ran a red light. harford county teachers soon will be getting their bonus. we're told the first half will arrive in the coming weeks. the second half later this year. the harford county council approved it. teachers were supposed to get it at the end of last year but the deal was vetoed after the teachers tried to get more funding control. the wheels are turning tonight planning the newest elementary school in buccaneer bawfnlgt the new school will be now what's called mays chapel

lower eastern shore. that is diminishing. so we're done with the rain. still, a hazy overcast and some sun breaking through, but 68 at bwi. that's where we sit now. winds light, east at 7 but very little breeze. it's stagnant and humid. clouds holding tough in bel air. as we look at our weather cam, a nice run on main street, dry but definitely on the cloudy side. same thing in loch raven and towson. conditions running mild, relatively dry but obviously, quite cloudy. overnight into the morning hours we'll see much of the same. right now temperatures across the region, 57 at the beach and ocean city. not quite as warm has yesterday. with that sunshine in the afternoon we didn't quite get that in most spots.

winds are very, very light. the humidity levels are high, up around 90% in annapolis, frederick. this amount of moisture in t wie fog potential, patchy fog overnight and into the day tomorrow. dover at nearly 100% humidity. you can see where the fog impacted temps today, only in the maryland and southeastern pennsylvania, in new york where we were trapped in the 60s. look how hot in pittsburgh, charleston, west virginia in the mid-80s. nearly 80 in richmond. those areas had the sunshine. you can see where the clouds were holding tough, this section around maryland, including all of our state, tough to find the sun. as a result temperatures held down. all eyes shifting to the weekend. you can see tremendous rain, tornado reports across the deep south. that is going to be a very slow moving system. for now the south breezes

continue. mainly south of us. the main system you could see just really taking its time to cross the country but it does appear we'll continue to see a strong fetch of moisture out of the gulf of mexico. this could be quite a bit of rain as we move toward sunday. just a slow, slow mover. here it is for you, down to 57, mostly cloudy many your two-degree guarantee tomorrow, 74. patchy morning fog. watch out for that and humid has we go to the mid-50s. seven-day forecast, changes, some but, again, the trend is this, more active weather into sunday. that will bring in cooler air. 60s, sunday, monday into tuesday before we warm back up. >> 27 days we could have had for opening day that would have been perfect. >> the year of opening days. opening day style weather.
