arrested george zimmerman, the neighborhood watch leader who says he shot the 17-year-old martin in self-defense last month. police say they have no evidence that disputes the self-defense claim. the lack of action sparked outrage. an on-line petition demanding an arrest gained over 980,000 signatures. sanford commissioners sound off about this case. >> i am embarrassed because of this national chain. >> we need to gain trust in our community. >> according to the police chief contract even if he was fired, since he's only been with the city 10 months the city wouldn't owe him much of anything. it states he can be terminated any time or fired for any ethical violation that constitutes a breach of public trust. mitt romney will be in washington to meet with congressional leaders. yesterday the republican frontrunner was in arbutus. at an event organized by former

governor ehrlich. romney was at a town hall meeting in a jam packed american legion hall. in his 45-minute speech he focused on gas prices, the economy and health care. and did a little q and a with the audience. you probably saw his first tv ad on the air. he'll be spending almost $250,000 leading up to the april 3rd primary in our state. two of romney's rivals are pulling out an oldie but goody from the toy box, an etch-a-sketch. romney aides said he's set for the fall campaign. he's talking about the general election. rick santorum aides tweeted the etch-a-sketch. saying romney plans to run as a blank slate come the fall. >> remove all trace of any kind of marks and be able to draw a new picture. maybe of someone that when he

run for governor of massachusetts, not as a conservative. >> and louisiana's newt gingrich had his own etch-a-sketch. gave it to a toddler telling her one day she can have a career in politics. animal control officers in harford county took dogs and 15 cats from a home in street. they found the animals in the house on lochary road. police say they found two anima the cats and dogs' owner theresa lambbrick runs a beagle rescue and had animals taken last year but were returned to her with the understanding she would find most of them new homes. >> you take someone that is passionate about dogs or cats and want to save everything they can save and it gets to a point where mentally they don't realize what they are doing. at that point it gets to a point where they are not helping the animals at all, they are actually hurting them. >> the zoning regulations limit homeowners to five domestic animals in harford county

unless the owner has a kennel license. she had no such permit the family of the murder victim and family of the accused killer started to fight in an ohio courtroom. kevin james had been taken out of the courtroom when the yelling began. a woman sitting with her family appeared to start the scuffle with a member of the victim's family. however, sheriffs' deputies quickly jumped in before things got out of hand. a louisiana man has been thankful he escaped without a scra scratch after a tree fell on his car. robert stalls was almost home from work when his car was flattened by a oak tree. he said he didn't know - he climbed out the back window. he was checked out by an emt but never had to be taken to the hospital. >> i finally got out.

welcome back. in health news, new guidelines are out on cervical cancer screenings. our health reporter linda so is here with the new changes and what it could mean for you. >> reporter: the most surprising change is women under 21 now don't need to be tested. the guidelines call for women ages 21 to 30 to get a pap smear every three years. for women 30 and over pap tests should be combined with hpv testing every three years. the pro-ventive services task force and american cancer society still came out with the new guidelines but women should

still see a doctor every year for a annual physical. >> many women will think that means no annual exam. not so. we want them to come every year to talk to their doctor about all kinds of health issues. >> reporter: pap tests are not recommended for women 65 or older. especially those who have had three consecutive years of normal results and no abnormal results in the past 10 years. linda so, abc2 news. researchers say they found a biological clue to male pattern baldness. they say there's a gland called the pgv2 that is more plentiful in the bald areas of the head. they are also involved in the construction of smooth muscles involved in the control of the inflammation and body temperature. doctors think if they find a way to block that gland from behinding to a -- binding to a receptor on the hair follicle they could stop the baldness. the senate is expected to

program. the nfl handed down the punishment after finding players were rewarded for trying to hurt their oh poantsz. the team has to pay a $5,000 fine and the defensive coordinator greg women williams has been suspended indefinitely. the head coachler suspended for several games. punishments against the players haven't been announced yet. tim tebow will be putting on the new york jets jersey. in exchange the jets will send two picks, a fourth, and sixth rounder to denver. the move comes a day after the broncos signed peyton manning to a five-year $96 million contract. when the clouds are low to the ground and difficult to scour out. that happened yesterday. today i think that we can scour them out a little quicker and that is why we'll see more sunshine in the forecast. but once again we still have that easterly flow. that easterly pattern and that keeps lots of moisture coming in off the water. so, future trend will bring us the chance of showers, isolated in nature, maybe a couple storms this afternoon. your hour by hour forecast brings us up to 74 degrees and once again, i've been saying it all week. if we get more sunshine that temperature will be higher but if we don't get more sunshine, we get more clouds that temperatures could be a little on the low end. here's a quick check of the 7-day forecast because we will get slightly cooler as we head into next week. let's check traffic with angela. good morning. >> fog, fog and more fog. that's what i say. the good news is, behind the fog we don't have major accidents to report on the key routes but we have fog warnings at all the area bridges, bay
