too. >> taxed enough already. >> reporter: about a dozen people came to protest the proposed tax increases, a couple of them got in trouble for it. they were handed a 60-dollar citationn. maryland you can't beep unless it's necessary. those protesting think the opposite. >> the companies didn't think this is an emergency. i tell you, it's a tax emergency. >> reporter: the debate continued inside. house members opposed to the higher tax complaints, there aren't enough cuts in the budget. say this isn't the time to raise taxes in maryland. >> this is the worst economy, in 75 years. yet all we are doing is raising taxes, we are finding unique ways to raise taxes. we have to stop. >> reporter: others in the house feel the poor economy is the reason we need to raise taxes because more marylanders need help. >> the people who rely on their neighbors increases, in a

staying effective at the same time. the fire department is looking at closing three fire companies with a savings of almost $2 million each. it doesn't mean fire house who be close bud house that have one or more engine company inside. they are also negotiating to increase the workweek to 56 hours a week and offering firefighters a race to do it. the police are eliminating 16 unfilled positions and merging the 911 center with the city call center. they are hiring new officers and working on ways to keep ones they have. they say the other jurisdictions trying to get their hands on police officers to keep their it own costs low. it could also race costs to the city. >> reporter: when we loose an officer that is already out in the field and we madely hire there is a lag time. by the time we hire and train

citizen's eviction gathered at the wells fargo location on east monument street around noon members of occupy baltimore -- they were on hand as they protested the east baltimore location before having their share of try and evict the bank. >> i just went in there with a mess teenage message that we are tired of watching them not pay taxes while we pay more than our fair share. >> reporter: they were escorted out of the bang. they tried to evict the bank of america branch. a day after romney visited, the co chairman for gingrich said he is going to drop by. the republican presidential candidate will visit annapolis and plans to visit the state house and meet with business owners there on main street. the visit is scheduled for tuesday, a week before maryland's primary.

barts. baltimore city firefighters had to fight an early morning fire in west baltimore that gutted a three story row homet. start dub it spread from the empty home to two homes next door. nobody was hurt. police have arrested five young men in a fight with multiple stabbings. it all happened tuesday afternoon. one of the victims is in serious condition at this hour. one of the others was actually release from the hospital and is among those arrested. he is a 20-year-old ronald williams northwest baltimore. he and a 19-year-old and 18- year-old and a 21-year-old and a 20-year-old, they have all been charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder and assault. all of them are being held without bail.

the aclu is frustrated tonight that the county's chief of police won't testify before the county council. he said that -- he said he won't respond to the subpoena because i call itself invalid. the aclu said he won't take a suspect to tell the council and the voters what the chief knows about the supposed enemy list the executive had. police keep about possible candidate that may run against them. the aclu said if he can't do this he can't preform the most basic function of his job, which is to enforce the law and if he is afraid of his responsible responsibility he has no business being the chief of police. we are at that meeting and will have a report for you tonight at 1. > and state police are reminding everybody of a law requiring drivers to move over.

hagerstown. winds are light, east variety for the most part but not enough easterly to -- cooler air rather off the waters of the atlantic and so -- things are warm and humid. humidity levels now again up over 60, 70, 80% in dover. this is one of the reasons we have a real recipe for more nothing. this is looking at the current humidity plot if you look closely -- northeast maryland. that could mean the densest fog could be in that part of the state. the trend across the area partly cloudy skies and a couple of showers way west of us toward charlottesville virginia, here is the overall trend quiet in the east. web somewhat sunnier weather just west of us will shift over us tomorrow and that will mean decent sun, as high as 80 or so after the fog burns off. this main weather maker, crawling across the center of

the country, bringing heavy rain, heavy rain bands to alabama and tennessee. timing wise for us, this will take its time coming in and as it has for all week long. no impact, just a warm south breeze ahead of that front. that could mean that -- temperatures will push 80 or higher tomorrow. then the clouds thicken up saturday, chances for hit and miss showers through the day. best chans on sunday as that main system arrives, again a ball of wax just crawling and in fact the cor may not get out until monday. this will be a long system. overnight down to 55, fog develops, watch for that -- friday morning drive. warm, 80 tomorrow and tomorrow night 56, dry not so much. once we get in to the weekend. sunday with a better rain chance, then into monday still showers could linger around. behind that storm wrap in cooler air, you say that almost tongue in cheek.
