repeal the law if elected. let's check in on democracy 2012. one of the men struggling in the race to become the republican presidential candidate stopped in annapolis. don harrison tells us more about newt gingrich's visit to the statehouse. >> reporter: former house speaker news gingrich made a visit to maryland's senate chamber today. he picked a good day. first graders were there singing. >> reporter: mike miller paused to thank gingrich for stopping by. after a brief tour, gingrich spoke with the media. he has based some of his campaign on promising to get gas down to $2.50. he showed his displeasure with the addition to the gas tax.

a 9-year-old florida boy was on his way from school when the bus crashed, ending his life. most of the kids were belted. investigators don't know whether he was wearing one before the crash. >> appears the bus was making a left turn to go on to mid-way road and made a left turn in front of the tractor-trailer. the driver of the tractor-trailer had minor injuries. the bus driver is still in the hospital. police plan to charge him. this is an unbelievability scene in new mexico. the wild police chief was caught on scam ra. dozens of officers were in hot pursuit of the suspect. the tires started to shred as road spikes blew them to pieces but that doesn't stop them. a state police officer fried over and over to ram the bus in an attempt to get it to pull

over that. didn't work. the officer ended up with a blown out tire, too. that's when another officer takes over. the bus finally slams into a medium. he faces three criminal charges. several business in palm beach county, florida, were robbed by people looking very presidential. surveillance cameras captured the robbers dressed in a president obama mask. they have yet to get a picture of the people underneath the masks. it's a bright sunny scenario. just a little bit of wind, but overall good looking weather. 55 degrees at bwi. humidity is very low, very dry air in place. ocean city, a sunny scenario. waves not up as high but just a

the 7 to 12-mile-an-hour range. a relatively clear sky. it will mean another rapid cooloff. we think conditions are warm enough where the overnight lows will not drop much. even if we were briefly get to 32, a frost is only a concern if we go at or below freezing for an hour or two. to the north and west, a few clouds pushing in. we'll probably see a couple of passing clouds. high pressure sitting over the mid-atlantic states, kind of pushing off shore now. so that's the other reason we won't be as cold. to the west there's warmer air. this will briefly surge in before we get a cold front dropping in tomorrow afternoon and evening. that will eventually mean a slightly cooler day on thursday and friday. right now temperatures, you can

see across the northeast, 40s and 50s. just to our south and west all the way back up to des moines in the 80-degree range. all we have to do is get a taste of this warm air and we'll easily get up to 70. it shows the timing of the front. we'll stop it at 6:00. we will be edging through. it's ahead of the front we'll get the warmup. so a little cooler but not dramatically so. looks like pretty nice weather to finish off the week. less frigid overnight. two-degree guarantee tomorrow 70. some spot cost make it into the low to mid-70s with clouds increasing, chance for a few showers. tomorrow night 50 or so. breezy and mild. your seven-day forecast looking ahead and finding, you know, pretty good stuff for late march early april. temperatures hovering around 60 and a significant warmup.

stocks dropped today. the dow fell about 44 points to close at 13,198. the s&p 500 fell fur points to close at 1413. if you're thinking about buying a bigger home or jumping into the housing market for the first time. home price dropped for the fifth month in a row in january. the average home in january lost value, some of the lowest since 2002. if you're planning a summer trip, it got more expensive. southwest airlines are raising ticket prices to compensate for the higher jet fuel cost. it's $10 per round trip. others are doing the same thing. congress is now taking up the debate over what to do about the u.s. postal service.
