check the forecast. you said it would warm up. >> it is. it is. it's going to warm up today as we go through afternoon time frame. but yesterday we had the temperatures tumbling. today they will rise charley. so cold but seasonable this morning. we are not in the low 30s like yesterday in the 20s. we are in the mid-30s to the upper 30s and even in the 40s in some spots. i will show you that in a second budget breezy and dry for now. temperatures 42 degrees right now in glen burnie. you can see we are a wit warm -- bit warmer than yesterday. chestertown 42. mountary 45. the temperatures are above average right now. and they will start to fall more before we cap the morning off. the wind are going to be a factor especially as we go into the afternoon. but continued of the northwesterly -- but instead of the northwesterly flow we will get the southwesterly flow bumping the temperatures up going through time. a next system is coming in and i will talk about that. right now let's check the traffic with angela good morning. are the wind going to stir up problems. >> reporter: let's hope not.

burglaries that happened in perry hall. linda so is here to tell us what this guy took from home. linda. >> reporter: six homes have been hit recently in all cases, the man took cash, medication and jewelry but one of the victims lost so much more. 81-year-old angela kuta had botengagement rings stolen one was from her first husband that passed away and -- and wanted to pass it along to her son. second is from the second marriage she had 40 years. the burglar took the rings and $100 in cash and outback card and drank a soda but left the empty can behind. next night police think the same man tried to get into a neighbor's house. >> the screen is broken into. and then the other night, we came home and the screen was pulled up the next morning. >> reporter: so far police are investigating four burglaries

it appears he will rule against it. there are two sticking points. one mandating you buy health insurance by 2014 and two allowing your children to stay on the health insurance until age 26. for two hours the court heard arguments on the biggest question. account government require americans to buy health insurance and impose the fines against those who don't. the court appears i did void. liberal justice are supportive but conservative members remain skeptical. >> i look back at the history and i see it seems pretty clear that if there are substantial effects on interstate commerce, congress can act. >> everybody has to buy food. sooner or later so you definite as food and everybody is in the market and therefore you can make people buy brockry. -- broccoli. >> reporter: coming up at 5, we will hear from a family and how the decision could be a matter of life and death for them. megan, back to you.

at 4:30. >> happening right now about 700 fire fighters from a number of states are battling a 7 square mile wild fire just southwest of denver. so far, it's responsible for two deaths. >> at least 28 structures have opinion damaged or destroyed. investigators trying to determine if the fire resulted from a controlled burn that reignited and lynette one of the problems they are facing is so many strong winds possibly fueling the fire. >> exactly. they had about hurricane-force winds about two days ago. and speaking of the wind, we are not getting it that strong but we have been breezy ourselves. we can see the current winds at 5 miles an hour in easton. 13 in dc, 10 in frederick and 7 in york and they will pick up into the afternoon and evening time frame like we have been dealing with a couple days ago. the moisture content is on the dry side. we can see the dew points are in the 20s in a lot of spots this morning. this will start to get a little bit moist as we go into the afternoon.

why did you do it. >> police say they believe this is an isolated case and they say looking at this as a hate crime is just one aspect of the investigation. news time 4:46. did you know an accident on the road can be caused by take your eyes off the wheel for 2 seconds. researchers at the university of iowa created a driving simulator to test reaction times when distracted. they say two seconds can mean the difference between a minor steering correction and anything longer could mean trouble. >> it doesn't take much time to have to have a substantial correction in your driving. >> it takes two seconds. >> two seconds before we see things breaking down. >> in 2009 more than 5,000 people were killed as a result of the distracted driving. a greyhound bus made a unexpected stop in california and caught fire and flames were shooting out near the back in l.a. all of this was yesterday. the bus driver says another driver saw the fire when they

again. so, the difference is instead of the wind being out of the northwest, like they were yesterday, the day before, they are going to be turning around to the south and west. we can see that now. gusting up to about 25 miles an hour even 30s into some spots this afternoon. right now, the sustained winds are between 5 and 15 miles an hour. the say theel light and radar we have cloud cover pushing in across the area. this is all ahead of a warm front and a cold front that's going to be sliding in a little later this evening. and what that will do is bring us a chance for showers scattered in nature and also maybe even a rumble of thunder. looking at future trend it goes into motion and there's the cold front that will be draped across the area, a little later this evening and there are the scattered showers that could come with that. as you head out and about, you might want to grab the rain gear just in case but this morning, we are nice and dry, but we are going to be dealing with a little change in the forecast in terms of temperatures once that front moves through. we will drop but for today we

at 4:30. a few minutes before five and in health news, richard norris thought he would never be the same until the university of maryland medical center surgeons took over. >> he became the second persons to have a complete face transplant. a gun accident in 1997 left him with most of his -- without most of his face and he couldn't speak. we want to show you norris six days after the surgery. he was in the operating room for a day and a half and doctors say it's the most extensive full face transplant ever. >> he put the mirror down and thanked me and hugged me which is a wonderful gift to give him. since that day, you can see that he will restore the 15 years he lost and making him a functioning member of society. >> doctors say norris is doing better than they he thought. the generosity of the donor's family didn't just give him a new face but saved the lives of five other people waiting for
