charles "pete" richter is charged with shooting and killing his neighbor mark xander. the state has charged him now with 14 conneds of child -- counts of child porn. a preacher is behind bars accused of sexually assaulting a young girl. frank small served as a backup pastor at bay city ministries in havre de grace. it appears no one knew that small was on the sex offender registry for prior child sex offenses. >> i would have never thought about that. small delivered the girl to her home and pleaded to her not to tell anyone.

environmental problem that has parts of the patapsco river being shut down. the sewage overflows the patapsco pumping station. abc2 news don harrison talked with neighbors who have to make changes because of this spill. >> reporter: since sunday afternoon sewage has been spilling into the patapsco river on annapolis road. >> it's not good. it's not healthy. >> reporter: the health department agrees. anne arundel and baltimore county posted signs like this along the patapsco river warning people not to go swimming or have contact with the water. the maryland department of the environment closed the mouth of the patapsco for shellfish harvesting until they feel it's safe. that could be awhile with the sewage spilling into the river every day.
