there is a major rally in miami today and appeal from his older brother. he wants what many people have been calling for. george zimmerman's arrest. >> reporter: protesters in miami came out to show support for trayvon martin. >> what do we want? >> justice. >> reporter: they are demanding justice for the unarmed teen shot dead in february after he bought a pack of candy. this man, george zimmerman said he opened fire in self defense after martin attacked him

punching him in the nose and banging his head on the concrete. trayvon's older brother told a miami affiliate he doesn't understand why the police and others accepted zimmerman's story as fact. >> it is baffling how people just take his word for it as if that's exactly what happened. and no question about it. >> reporter: the family points to this police video taken half an hour after the shooting. showing zimmerman with no apparent head wounds. a man who wants to be anonymous says the video doesn't tell the whole story. >> i saw george. he was banged up. his nose was swollen. >> reporter: miami protests follows one saturday in sanford. the floridwhere martin died. a candlelight vigil in fort lauderdale where his best

friend remembered him. >> reporter: trayvon's death has has demands across the country for zimmerman to be arrested. a family's worse nightmare came true. a father accidentally backed over his child while cutting the grass on his riding mower. the 9-year-old had her foot cut off. the girl is in serious but stable condition tonight at johns hopkins. they have not released the family's name. in baltimore county another tragedy. a 27-year-old army national guard member, who police believe served in iraq was found dead. he is a student at towsend and was found by his roommates inside his apartment yesterday. police don't know how he died but say it wasn't a homicide. state medical examiners office will do an autopsy.

another loss for the campus this weekend. a towsend university student is killed by a hit-and-run driver. 20-year-old ryan bailey was walking on york road near washington avenue when a car hit him and pushed him toward the sidewalk. investigators say he hit a grass embankment and tree root before coming to a stop. bailey was pronounced dead at the scene. incident happened before 2:00 saturday morning. by phone bailey's father said his son was a junior studying accounting. police are looking for an older model silver or white box-style car. a baltimore police officer shoot asman after he says he was threatened first. incident happened in the 2500 block of cattle avenue. happened around 1 11:00 saturday morning. officers started canvassing tire a yeah after a disturbance call came from the home a few

of the pork week. we have a warm up in store. cars and suvs have been blazing up the roads but not in a good way. federal officials are investigating reports of engine fires in the 2011 chevrolet cruz and jeep wrangler . so far the fires have not caused injuries but destroyed more than six vehicles. national transportation safety board received reports of fires beginning while the cars were moving. a major supermarket chain is slamming the breaks on shopping carts with a ban on double coupons starting today. it is the latest and biggest threat to what is being turned into a battle between extreme cow phone folks. onmiller has the story.

welcome to maryland spotlight. did you know there were 6500 marylanders battling multiple sclerosis? joining me to talk about the battle and what we can do is emmy burton. you are ambassador for walk ms. this is personal to you. tell me your story. >> my mother was diagnosissed with ms when i was 9 years old. ms has been a big part of my life. i have another family member. my aunt was diagnosed with ms when i was five years old. >> i have two friends my age diagnosissed with ms years ago. it is something that i think should be raised with awareness. what is it like living with ms? >> a big part of ms, for a lot of people, is the fatigue. you can't just go out and go!

go! go! all day long. i took my mother shopping the day after thanksgiving. we had to take bres. >> it is taxing on the body. >> it really is. >> you have to take bathroom breaks a lot. when you got to go you got to go. ms society thinks about that when they plan their walks. there are lots of restrooms and break spots along the way. they tailor to the folks. >> you have been involved with walk ms how long? >> the first walk i participated in was 1995. i brought a shirt with me from the first walk. i walked on and off since then. >> tell me how this affected your life as far as support from walk ms as well as the national association. >> i really like participating in the walk. i like doing anything that

helps the community. ms society helps so many people that live with ms. whether it is moral support or it is giving them a ride to a medical appointment or providing them with a wheelchair or any medical supplies they need. walk ms is a big fundraiser for them. >> you have a big one coming up in april. >> april 22nd is annapolis walk. i'm participating in that one with my team. i have been a member of the elite feet club for three years which is for walkers to raise a thousand dollars or more. every dollar amount help. we were talking about it earlier, even $50 can pay for something so significant as a cab ride for medical treatment. >> people don't realize every little bit they can donate counts. $50 can be a cab ride round trip to a medical appointment.
