you, that's not what they meant. this employee of season's pizza stepped out back for a smoke. a suspect approached him and asked for the cigarette. >> the suspect picked up an object striking the victim. >> reporter: another employee wases will takes his break and was -- was also takes his break and saw what was going on. >> i mean, when i got out of my car, they kept running. we called the police. >> reporter: anne arundel police caught johnson and a 15-year-old from baltimore city and a 16-year-old from bowie. police say other suspects are at large. witnesses say the teens were dressed a like but no indication

of a gang. >> it's too early right now. it's not clear with they were doing, whether a crime of opportunity or juveniles acting out. >> reporter: they hope the security camera will identify the others. folks here say they've never seen anything like this and they are hoping it's an isolated incident. >> shocking. could happen to any worker who comes out to have a cigarette. can happen to any of us. >> reporter: at this point police said more than half a dozen suspects are out there. they're a asking for anyone who saw anything to call police. here's the latest from kent county where it's all clear. it's not clear who left the bomb threat. there's a handwritten note left on the side door of kent cowed middle school saying bombs will explode at seven public schools

in the county today. that prompted state police to evacuate all 2100 students. nine bomb sniffing dogs went inside the public schools, went inside the public education building. no bombs were found but students were shaken up by this. >> it's kind of nerve-wracking. i agree. just staying calm is the best thing. >> i think it's really too bad. i hope it isn't true. if they're looking for attention, they need to find some other way to do it. >> one bomb sniffing dog had to be flown in from cumberland. schools will be opened as scheduled tomorrow. here's developing story out of baltimore city where police need your help finding those involved in the beating and robbery of a man that was caught on tape. we'll watch this closely. >> this was shot on a cell ten and shows the first victim

having his pocket picked and then getting punched and robbed. you can see the victim, a white male with a mountain dew shirt first get approached by two females who dance on him. then someone is trying to take something out of the victim's pocket. he confronts that person, is punched in the face and drops to the ground. others start digging through his pocket and pulling his clothing. they're talking about what to take from the victim. as you can see, the victim and the suspect can be identified. police received the video and are investigating. however, they need your help identifying the victim and the suspects. if you recognize the anyone you're asked to call

410-276-8888. jamie, back to you. first he called police and then a deputy said he started beating them. this is in charlestown in cecil county. frank roberts called 911 because he thought somebody was trying to break into his home. well, deputies get to the scene. roberts had his pitbulls in the yard and one of the animals charged at the officer who then shot at the dog. the deputy missed the dog but that set roberts off who turned on the officers. robert threatened the officers with an ax handle and they tased him. >> help ended up coming aflt -- he ended up coming after your officers. >> yes, he assaulted one and attempted to assault another one. >> so the cecil county sheriff's department said he is locked up

the sky. meteorologist wyatt everhart joins us from the weather center. >> what a line of storms in the lone star state. you can see an unbroken line of heavy storms that came through the dallas-fort worth area. some of it is still producing tornadoes more than likely wild weather in the south and lone start state. in maryland just a couple showers toward garrett county. even those are diminishing. 66 in easton. 72 in frederick. we're on our way to the low 70s. after this a pretty significant cooldown. we talk about that straight ahead. let's go voting, shall we? today is primary day. polls opened at 7:00. besides the presidential nomination congressional seats. for some voters it was important

to cast their vote. >> i've been trying to keep abreast with the politicians that's rung. i'm going for who will better serve us as a whole. >> voters got a jump on things. this is the scene at one of the polling places. voter turnout has been low, many say it's not a surprise. that doesn't mean candidates from both parties don't have a lot at stake. we have team coverage of both the democrat and republican candidates. christian schaffer is following the democrats. turnout is hovering around 5%. perhaps we'll get a late evening

rush. the weather is nice. some may be avoiding the polling booth. it is beautiful out here. senator ben cardin is trying to win his second term. he's facing a primary challenge from anthony muse. senator cardin is a big supporter of president obama. he says if he's able to get through the primary, he will be arguing for the president's policies throughout the summer and into the general election this november. >> got to create more jobs working with president obama, to improve our schools, to strengthen our environmental issues. that's what this election is about. whether we will continue to make this type of progress, protecting our seniors with medicare and social security. these are the things that are important and doing it in a

responsible way. >> reporter: anthony muse grew up in baltimore, went through 11 foster homes before catching on with a meth disminister who cleaned him -- methodist minister who cleaned him up and showed him the way. of course senator cardin, as the incumbent enjoys the benefits of an incumbent. live in northwest baltimore, christian schaffer. here's state senator nancy jacobs. she is running for congress. she was at several polling locations greeting voters, encouraging them to vote for her. now for republicans, the goal is to continue the momentum that they got two years ago and trying to unseat more democrats

in congress. jeff hagueer joins us -- hager joins us from cockeysville. >> reporter: if you live in a blue state like maryland, if there was ever a time to be excited, it's with this late primary coming in maryland where the republican race for the presidency is still up for grabs. delegates still out there. yet, upwouldn't know this by the -- you wouldn't know it by the turnout at warren elementary school. there are more people lined up at rita's italian ice than here. we spoke with congressman harris. he was hopeful the primary would energize support for gop candidates throughout the state. >> with regards to the congressional race we have to deal with our debt and deficits. we have to overturn the president's healthcare act.

button. in about eight years we'll see people swimming and fishing in that water. wyatt will be up in his full forecast in a couple moments. new guidelines are out about how often women need to get a pap smear. abc2 health reporter linda so reports certain groups of women don't need to get them at all. >> reporter: the new guidelines are good news for most healthy women. two leading medical organizations say pap tests aren't necessary every year. the recommendations have changed for when women should start getting screened for cervical cancer. >> anyone under the age of 21 does not require a pap smear regardless of the debut of their sexual activity. >> reporter: the new guidelines also recommend women between the ages of 21 and 29 get a pap smear every three years if they've had normle results. women age 30 to 65 will undergo

screening every five years. >> they will undergo whales called cotesting with the human papilloma virus testing. >> reporter: getting rid of annual pap tests is beneficial. >> by increasing the screening interval it's a better thing for women. we're going to not see as many false positive pap smear tests that can lead to unnecessary biopsies, procedures, costly visits to the doctors. >> reporter: and stress for patients. no more screening for women over 65 unless there are certain risk factors. there is a certain glue should continue to get tested. >> if you have a recent history of hpv infection, abnormal pap smear or cervical cancer, you will not be a candidate. >> reporter: women should still see their doctor every year for their well checkup.

year's contestants. all right. big congrats on that. hey, take a look. most of the boats are in port. getting more spring like and 69 at bwi. we top that at 70, warmer than expected, almost no humidity in the air. radar continuing to scan. bel air all sunshine. that certainly was the story throughout the day. a few thin clouds late in the afternoon but not much. ocean city, jamie, look at the people on the beach. it's getting to be that time of the year. water temp up to 60. we're getting there for this time of the year because of the warm march. rehoboth beach they're out there. winds are light and variable. almost no wind to speak of.

right now temperatures about the highs of the day. 70 at inner harbor. 60 at the naval academy. humidity almost nonexistent. this is very, very dry air. as we look at the overall pattern you're getting more active. in west virginia, some scattered showers president the movement of this particular batch of rain looks to be south of east, so at this point in time anticipating a lot of the more active weather will stay to our south tomorrow. not to say we couldn't get a hit or miss shower but i think the best chances for rain will be from virginia southward, a weak boundary pushing through should help get us into the low 70s by noon tomorrow. there's cool air wrapping around the northwest side of the weaker area of low pressure. that should funnel in for thursday and friday dropping us to 60 or so and huge storms flaring in east texas, reaching

into mississippi and louisiana tonight. so rough wild severe weather across the deep south but none of that in the mid-atlantic states. as we look at the trend, you can see the positioning, movement of the rain maker. it looks to be south of the norfolk area. at most a couple of stray showers may work their way into baltimore. thursday the big difference will be the change of temperatures as winds go northerly on us, sweeping in chillier air. it should mean a day on thursday where we spend the day in the 50s. not as cold. your two-degree guarantee 72, maybe a little low. some spots like annapolis could get to 75, slight risk of a couple of stray showers. tomorrow night we're dry and not as cold. a north breeze will begin to kick. that northerly breeze will have an impact on thursday. optimistic we'll warm up on
