>> now the violent storms in texas. abc2 news jamie costello joins us with the latest. >> the national weather service said about a dozen tornadoes hit the area yesterday. today we're hearing amazing stories of survival. some homes were destroyed while others were still standing. >> oh, wow. oh mi goodness. >> according to the national weather service more than a dozen tornadoes pummeled the area. >> please take shelter immediately. >> reporter: a news helicopter captured one twister's fury. >> look, look, look, huge trailers, these huge rigs, the back ends of tractor-trailers are being thrown hundreds of yards. >> reporter: but tornadoes tore

blowing. as we go into the day tomorrow and opening day temperatures will be running cool. we'll talk about that straight ahead. >> thanks a lot. a body was found in the roads on bengies road last night. baltimore county police are investigating and saying the body is being taken to the medical examiner's office for examination. the body was discovered about 7:30. a series of home burglaries last week have authorities in harford county concerned. 10 homes in kingsville and joppa were hit. tonight there's a community meeting to get some of the neighbors involved. >> reporter: what authorities are most worried about is the fact that they happened while most of the homeowners were home. the homes were hit in the late evening hours. no one was injured but the

some deadly diseases are changing hands but not in the way they should. that's creating shortages and price hikes. senator barbara mikulski wants that to stop. there was a round table discussion today. they're trying to deal with the drug shortage problem. it's believed some fake pharmacies are buying certain medications and transferring them to wholesale companies they own and selling them at a prompt it's a prob -- profit. it's a problem for some patients like josh who needs the medicine. >> the prognosis depends on how fast the tumor shrinks. we shouldn't have to live with

severe storms tonight. unless you're traveling well south you're looking good because most of this weather will remain confined south of us. you can see the stalled out frontal boundary south of baltimore. that's holding the showers to date. much more active weather to the west and particularly southwest where that same storm system that rips through texas will continue to impact places like louisiana. by the way, we're blogging about that, some wild video at abc2news.com. just check out the weather blog. in any case showers continuing this evening and some storms and severe weather as close as norfolk, virginia. then through thursday you should see the boundary keeping maryland in the clear or active weather south of us could be a big weather delay in say atlanta tomorrow afternoon and early friday. friday looks clear. this is a good setup for opening day. however, we will bring in the north wind with the clearing.
