the dry conditions, the winds, that's a big issue. we haven't had rain. firefighters had their work cut out for them. exactly. it's not just for here, we are extending this in to pennsylvania, and even new york, del aware, virginia, getting in on the actions it is going to be a hair raising day. a wind advisory as well. cool, breezy and dry conditions, changing hopefully in terms of wet weather in here. here is the red flag warning i want to talk about. this is in effect at lv9:00 un 8:00 p.m. it's for the entire viewing area. looking at the pink shading, that's across the eastern shore. that's the winds advisory in effect at 8:00 until 6:00 p.m. this evening. lots to talk about here. we could see the temperatures not cold, on the cooler side this morning. columbia, westminster, temperatures in the 40s. close to 50s degrees. 13 miles an hour, gusts up to

30 to 35 miles an hour. i will talk about the rain chances coming up, now a check of the traffic with angela. a big tanker you've been talking about. >> overturned tanker truck on 695 on the inner loop approaching i-70. we have video taken not too long ago this morning of the accident situation, we are blocking two right lanes. on the inner loop, it's slow as you approach baltimore national pike to the accident scene on i- 70, outer loop, rubber necking delays. sluggish on our approach to security boulevard until you pass the scene. overturned tanker, it's leaking asphalt material, hazmat crews are on the scene as well. this was taken for you within the hour, extra caution if you are traveling in the area. the southbound side of the harrisburg expressway is what you are looking at, remains trouble flee and no accidents

to warn you about. moving well to the topside of the beltway. back over to you. breaking news to tell you about, live pictures from a brush fire in tabernacle, new jersey, near new york city. this is what charlie was talking about. crews are on their way to get a handle of the forest fire reported after 4:00 this morning. fire officials tell abc2 news that the fire charred 500-acres and now entering a neighborhood. wind gusts spread the fire and the gusts are expected to increase today, no word right now on what caused it. we will stay on top of the situation and keep you posted. speaking of fires and wind , the baltimore area is under a warning, that's because of the dry conditions. >> linda so is standing by with what is expected today and what some families had to deal with. >> 60 families evacuated because of the brush fire in joppa town, they were allowed back in after firefighters got

things under control. the brush fire broke out sunday, you could see smoke and black markings with the fire swept through. it took firefighters from several counties to contain the brush fire. >> we saw the flames coming out everywhere. it's far back in the woods. >> the smoke will keep fire crews on alert for three days, you are asked not to stat an open fire because of the dry conditions. this includes grilling, campfires or outdoor cooking of any kind. linda so, abc2 news. huge tanker fire in glendale, california. happened at a freeway and sent flames shooting in to the air. self-firefighters had to rush to -- several firefighters had to rush to the scene. no one was hurt.

residents affected by the jet crash in virginia beach may get compensation checks today. the navy says the payments are for housing, meals and clothing. there will be $2300 for an individual resident and increased for additional family members. a navy jet crashed in on the apartment building, dozens of units were destroyed. no one was killed. abc2 news plans to dedicate a special 60 minutes for mike wallace april 15th he died after a lengthy illness. mike had a long and successful career including four decades and correspondent with 60 minutes and won numerous awards, emmies and a golden globe. gas prices keep inching up and could be relief in sight. >> we have the latest numbers around the country and here in maryland. where to find the least expensive gas near your home. >> if wore you are one of the

can come to a compromise, lawmakers may be able to pass a final budget by midnight when the 90-day session comes to a close. at issue is how to balance the on going deficit. the house and senate yet to come to a compromise on a measure to raise income taxes. they may have to extends the session which would cost taxpayers more money. there are other high profile bills that hang in the balance. the bill to promote offshore winds power, raising the flush tax and gambling to allow table games in maryland. a lot to get done before the session adjourns at midnight. we will follow the developments and bring you the latest on air and on line. abc2 news. the attorney general's office is trying to block an award to an inmate's death. a jury awarded damages to the parents of philip parker junior who was stranged on a prison

bus by an inmate. they will ask a judge to reduce the award to $800,000. the state says that's the most they are required to pay. a hearing is scheduled for this afternoon in baltimore city circuit court. the outpouring of support following the death of trayvon martin continues today locally. a community discussion is happening on the perception of black men, held tonight, at the dc armory. in columbia the african american coalition of howard county is holding a vigil. u.s. senator ben carden is attending. it's held at st. john baptist church. starts at 7:00. tomorrow grand jury is set to decide whether or not charges will be filed against the admitted gunman. a special prosecutor could decide to bring charges prior to the meeting. neighborhood watch volunteer, zimmerman, claims he shot and killed trayvon in self defense and has not been arrested in this case. parts of oklahoma, they are trying to cope after a shooting

spree that left three people dead and two injured. two men have been arrested and facing a judge today. police are trying to figure out a motive for the shooting that targeted african americans. so far they say it's too early to call this a hate crime. they say one of the suspects may have been trying to avenge his father's death. his father was killed by a black man two years ago. all of the victims shot were african american. >> i think somebody that committed these crimes were upset with black people. both england and watts will be charged with three counts of first degree murderer and two counts of attempted murder. the victims have been released from the hospital. teen accused in the shooting near cleveland ohio is expected in court. three students died and two injured. a judge ordered a mentally

competency exam for tj lain, the judge says he will meet with attorneys to schedule the hearings and schedule a second hearing on whether lain should be tried as an adult. he has not yet entered a plea. jury selection begins in the trial of a man accused of killing three family members. william is charged with murder of hudson's mother, brother and nephew. she is expected to be in court everyday and on the 300 named list of witnesses to testify for opening statements which began april 23rd. rick santorum is taking a break from the campaign trail today to be with his ailing daughter, she has been the hospital since friday, with a rare genetic condition. it could be fatal. she was hospitalized this year with pneumonia. santorum and his wife are with their daughter right now. easter was yesterday, but the fun continues today at the south lawn of the white house.
