from fire officials. >> reporter: the largest fire in harford county is contained but it's still burning. fire officials said people should still refrain from burning. they are returning daily to put out hot spots. they liken the red flag warning to tornado or hurricane warnings and encouraging people to hold off on their backyard barbecues at least for now. >> the biggest thing that will help us is rainfall. even if we get a little bit of rain, that's not going to curtail the conditions. it's still going to be dry. we need a good soaking rain that lasts over a day or two. >> reporter: the state fire supervise said the conditions in maryland are like throws in new jersey. a wildfire spread across 1,000 acres. each spring and fall maryland
