and we need that rain but all we are seeing right now is cloud cover across the area. that will be diminishing going to the rest of the morning. and these are high thin clouds and we will see plenty of sunshine in here as we go throughout the day. i will call it sun/cloud mix. let's check the traffic with angela. >> reporter: good morning. a check of the road for the monday morning drive. a couple hot spots in terms of congestion out there. we are seeing just one reported accident. that's up in harford county on pulaski highway and edgewood road. as far as congestion goes, we are okay for the most part around the baltimore beltway. not moving too bad in both directions as we loo live at green spring. -- we look live at green spring avenue. for those of you traveling through ellicott city on i-95, it's a pretty slow ride right now. you may want to consider 295 the bw parkway flowing freely and at a good pace between 695 and the capital beltway on 259. but you will tap -- 295. but you will tap the breaks on

95 heading -- brakes on 95 heading to ellicott city. things are backing up a little bit on the jones falls expressway. sherrie johnson is here with more on the lane construction. how is it going since we spoke last about 30 minutes ago? >> reporter: good morning. yes, traffic is still picking up just a bit. we are here on the jfx at mount royal and north avenue exit. and there's no major congestion here, but traffic has picked up a little bit. the left lanes at 29th street in both directions were shut down on friday for repairs. now the jfx is a heavily traveled road with 6,000 cars per hour during rush hour. now the lane closures are needed for emergency repairs to collapse drainage pipes underneath the expressway. so the department of transportation says you need the closures for safety reasons. the closures will mean serious traffic congestion especially during rush hour. and we talked to drivers who

mccullougha homes and was shot in the head. the victim died saturday morning from the injuries. members of congress are vowing to investigate allegations that president obama's secret service agents solicited prostitutes while making preparations for the president's colombian visit. 11 secret service personnel and five u.s. servicemen face allegation of heavy drink and soliciting prostitutes. the incidents allegedly happened days before he arrived in columbia. >> the security was compromised by the fact that the agents were in this compromised position where they could be blackmailed. >> the secret service members were sent home and placed on administrative leave. news time 6:34. some drivers around the country are seeing a little relief at the pump. imagine that. the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is around 3.90 down 2 cents from this time last week. now here in maryland, we are still slightly higher. we are at 3.96.

some 70s in some spots as well. so with that, we have the southwesterly flow those temperatures are going to soar. now our old record is 2002 and it was 09 degrees. i am forecast -- 90 degrees. i am forecasting 87. it could be easy to get that once we get rids of the -- rid of the clouds. temperatures at 58 degrees if aberdeen. more in bel air. clarksville at 62. and the winds are calm to light as of now. but again we still have the southwesterly breeze picking up at 5 to looking at more temperatures on the weather bug sites, we go to the eastern shore. centerville 62 there. the low 60s in galena and elkton this morning. fallston around 63 degrees and manchester at 62. and 65 degrees now in hanover and 65 is where we should be for a high temperature. so we are starting out on the very warm side. we look at maryland's most powerful radar as of now and we

are dry. we have all five sweeps on but need the rain. we are 4.72 inches since the beginning of the year. so we are well below. we have a severe drought going on along the eastern shore at this time. and we are well below average across the baltimore area. so we are hoping for some more rain, and i am going to tell outnext chance we will have a chance for soaking rein across the area. that's coming up in a few minutes. but right now, let's check the traffic with angela. good morning. >> reporter: good morning lynette. heading out the door for the monday morning drive, you could have some computing hassles ifyour drive takes you on the jones falls expressway. as we have been telling you all morning, the long-term repair project in full effect. lane closures around 29th street. be prepared for congestion approaching the 28th street interchange on the jfx. traveling around the beltway right my, you are in pretty good shape around liberty road where you see the heavy traffic in the outer loop lanes. also county police on the scene of an accident on liberty road. near rolling road and we are getting reports of minor delays
