that means we are scanning the skies looking for rain because we need the rain. unfor unfortunately, it will fall on the weekend. visibility is the issue this morning. so as you are out and about getting ready to head out the door, be treepped for five miles reduced did-- prepared for five miles reduced visibility. and darleen says in middle river there's some fog across the area there this morning. temperatures takes take a light jacket. 47 in centerville and 46 in emitsburg and easton. let's check the traffic with angela. good morning. i know you've been seeing patchy fog. widespread, though. >> reporter: we have been seeing fog and one of the areas frederick is where the accident occurred. the tractor trailer fire. the good news is we reopened all lanes eastbound i-70. still, a little difficult getting through a lot of traffic is in the area. but hopefully we will recover from that. in the meantime, on the harrisburg expressway, onlooker delays passing timonium road. here's a live look at the beltway where we are in great

shape for the friday morning drive moving well without delay all the way around toi.-95. -- i-95. on i-95 traveling through howard county, it's going to be heavy. southbound making the drive through elk ridge make are way past maryland, 100. charley. an arrest in a 21-year-old cold case when a howard county woman went missing in 1991. her body has been found and her husband has been charged in the death. christian schaeffer has details. >> reporter: cindy fryer lives next door to the home robert jarrett shared with his first wife christine. >> she would call me and confide in me somewhat. you know enough to where i knew there were problems. >> reporter: then in january of 1991, christine jarrett vanished. cindy fryer immediately suspected robert had something to do with it. >> he waits two days and comes knocking at our door going have you seen chris. we are like no what do you mean

have we seen chris? >> reporter: the jarretts had two young sons and neighbors say the shed in the backyard was there before christine's disappearance but they say it was after the disappearance that he laid down a concrete slab inside it. >> we said she is under the shed. >> reporter: police suspected robert jarrett as well but without evidence they couldn't search the home. >> there's been a number of times throughout the two decades where we followed up on leads, but untimately we are not able to get enough proper cause or evidence to -- probable cause or evidence to prove the case. >> reporter: until last night they went into the shed and found christine jarrett's body under the concrete slab. >> we saw them bring it -- we saw them bring her out last night and that was really hard. >> reporter: robert jarrett remarried. the home he shared with his second wife and their daughter has a sign on the door that reads no trespassing no media. a bitter sweet day for cindy fryer. >> a little part of me wished she stayed alive. >> reporter: 21 years of

suspicion now confirmed the nabs say robert and christine jarrett's sons are now almost 30 years old. >> her sons will know that she didn't abandon them, that she loved them and you know she wouldn't have left them. and i hope that they come away with peace knowing that. >> reporter: robert jarrett is cadged with first and second degree murder held at the howard county detention center without bond. christian schaeffer abc2 news. some grandparents and parents in illinois are upset over a field trip with kindergartners and where they went. they were given a tour of the hillside police department lockup. school official didn't inform they will the lockup was included. a letter from the school described a trip to the library and i will haveage hall which is attached to the police -- village hall which is attached to the police department. >> what are you saying? this is the ultimate future? this is your outcome in life? this is what we expect of you? >> the family say a trip to the lockup is part earth district

it's 6:38 and this somebody along the eastern shore a big effort in the fight against breast cancer. inaugural race for the susan g. komen race for the cure, the 5k run/walk and lenor joins us one of the organizers with this. good morning. >> reporter: good morning -- good morning. >> you are getting ready for the inaugural race and this is one of the first inaugural races you have had in sometime isn't it? >> yes. our hunt valley race is going to be celebrating the 20th year in october. this is our first second race in ocean city. >> did you have to pull out the old notes and say how did we start one of these again? >> actually, yes. none of us have ever started the race and it has been in existence before the staff have been around. some volunteers have been around since the beginning but it's been interesting. >> and you said the hunt valley race is going on for a number

alarm fire in reisterstown. look look at this. this happened around -- look at this. this happened at the reserve at owings crossing apartments behind the future care cherry wood nursing home. these are spectacular flames. right now, we know two people have been taken to the hospital. no word on the extent of the injuries. the cause of the fire is under investigation. crews are still on the scene. in other news, george zimmerman could be free within hours. he has a bond hearing for nine this morning in sanford florida. he is the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot and killed trayvon martin in february. his attorney believes his client will be released from jail leading to concern about zimmerman's safety. if released, he hopes to keep court documents sealed. >> this is so much animositybuilt up in the case so far that people who get the information may want to act on it prematurely like addresss or witnesses. and that's a concern. >> now assuming the judge makes the decision, this is a new

judge presiding over the case. we will let you know the results coming up on abc2news.com. once again, it's expected alittle after nine this morning. it's a little more than six months ago we were talking about the east coast quake that shook our area and much of the eastern seaboard. today towson is giving their kids a chance to get nonet action for their benefit. this morning sherrie johnson is there to explain why. what's going on? >> reporter: hey, charley, we are here at towson university where they are preparing for operation stat. this is a mock earthquake disaster drill to educate people on what to do in case of a earthquake. they are going all out. we have hundreds of volunteers that are coming out. we have many of them that are already here in fact. and they are here and they are doing mock triage here to show what people can do. now this morning, i have dr. marchese winestein the associate dean of college of health professions. good morning. thanks for joining us. why is this mock drill so very important? >> thank you. it's so important to us

becauseit provides students in the health profession was a wonderful learning opportunity to really be involved hand on in the kinds of experiences they might face as first responders or people in trauma situations providing care for victims. it's a really important goal of ours and the university that our students be engaged in community based activities like this and that all our students have thischance to ep gauge in the activities. in addition to our nursing students who you will hopefully are seeing right now, who are learning their role with regards to this, we have health care management stewed hoarnts are learning how to hand -- student who are learning how to handle inventory track and occupationaller that pi students providing mental health assessments and screenings. we have center for adults with autism and several of the adults on the autism spectrum are here with -- or will be be here with mentors and we have
