joe biden visited the area and said president obama has a real shot at taking the state even though it has voted blue in the last 60 years and that candidate wasn't president obama. so what is different this time? democrats hope they can bank on the growing latino population in arizona. they accounted for 16% of the electorate in 2008 and it has been a stronghold for the obama campaign. stwowr it didn't work for the obama campaign. the nominee was the senator from arizona, john mccain who introduced mitt romney today in front rough the rnc, really a sort of passing of the torch. >> so some big fund razing events as -- fund-raising events. could this turn into another billion dollar election, similar to with we saw in 2008? >> reporter: the way things are going it almost definitely will.
