in pikesville they honored those who died in the line of duty. trooper hunter was added during the roll call of fallen heroes. when the general assembly finished their annual session they left the state with a dooms day budget. now the governor is calling them all bab to annapolis next week. don harrison has the details on the upcoming special session. >> i have called a special session that will begin may 14th. >> reporter: with that it became official, so now they must come back to work that out. >> to leave this budget incomplete, to leave this budget as it stands right now would damage the very forward motion that all of us together have work sod hard to achieve for our state. >> reporter: other leaders, speaker bush and president miller acknowledged the unfinished business from last

session. >> edge' very honored to be back here on another day to correct what needs to be corrected and move the state forward. >> unfortunately, it fell a little short on the final day of session, but i don't think that we can let those inactions go unaddressed. >> reporter: one thing is certain, the governor said tax increases were necessary to move forward. >> a cuts only approach would help no one and would harm all of us. >> reporter: those tax increases would be in the form of an income tax and affect about 16% of marylanders, those individuals making over 100 this or households making over $15 this but there will be no gas tax. >> investments and yes, revenues to support those important ongoingen vestments. >> reporter: maryland's leaders said the special session will last three days.

the governor also announced it will be followed by another special session later on in the summer to discuss maryland's gambling issues. in annapolis, don harrison, abc2 news. >> the special session will likely cost the state roughly $30,000 per day. the fbi has added to its 10 most wanted list, the mississippi man charged with kidnapping a ten sew mother and her three daughters and killing two of them. murder charges against the suspect. >> reporter: adam mayes has been on the run with the girls. this surveillance video is from a store in gun town, miss misand shows mayes three days after he kidnapped jo ann bain and her three daughters. after jo ann and her clerk were found dead, the clerk who told him cigarettes said he acted as

if nothing was wrong. according to the arrest warrants, teresa mayes helped her husband by driving the getaway car with the victims in it to the mayes trailer in mississippi. police say 65-year-old mary mayes heard her son digging in her backyard the night of the killing. >> i called the investigators on saturday because the statements she was making was a concern. >> reporter: police believe the two girls are alive with mayes and police are thinking that mayes has changed his appearance and cut his long hair. jamie costello, abc2 news. relief could be on the way for some struggling homeowners, bank of america has started mailing out letters to customers who may qualify to have their

home loans reduced. more than00,000 -- than 200,000 customers could benefit. only mortgages owned by the bank will qualify. those owned by fannie mae and freddie mac will not qualify. some twitter accounts may have been hacked. most of them are spam handled. there was a emergency posted online saying 55,000 accounts were come promeased. it also post lad link to a pasting site where it said the use are names and passwords for the account. twitter is looking into the situation and pushed out password resets to some of the accounts that were affected. a bus runs over a man in texas and it's caught on tape. we'll see how he's doing and what happened to the driver. plus, one, two, three --

some disturbing video out of austin can texas. the surveillance video was rolling. he was not seriously hurt. the bus company says the driver is on administrative leave and faces disciplinary action because all drivers are trained to stop at a yellow light. a man in new mexico took a man on a wild ride and decided to drive his truck around a horse track. officers had to make a bare ri cade. the suspect was apparently too drunk for a sobriety test and

passed out in the back of the patrol car. talk about a determined little kid, this 2-year-old in arkansas got his arm stuck in a gumball machine while trying to grab a treat. firefighters had to be called. they ended up taking the machine apart to free him. when it was over, he was still holding that gumball in his hand. the good news is he was in the hurt. >> lots of parents have saved and saved so their kids could go to college. we'll take a look at where to turn to keep that dream alive. hop went home on last night's -- who went home on last night's double elimination show of "dancing with the stars." here at the hutchison household but one dark stormy evening... there were two things i could tell: she needed a good meal and a good family. so we gave her what our other cats love, purina cat chow complete. it's the best because it has something for all of our cats! and after a couple of weeks she was healthy, happy, and definitely part of the family. we're so lucky that lucy picked us.

possible we could see thunderstorm and rain beginning to clear out moving steadily east. what we're watching are heavier rains south of the frederick area. as you go towards the richmond area this is moving north. more rain, a good bet. the state could use more even though we've already picked up in many spots more than half an inch. the coast guard cutter, 73. humidity is moderate to high and sunshine tough to find once again today. i know, another great day. brighter at times but still staying cloudy. that's for sure. tomorrow we may start off like this early in the morning but we expect more sunshine in the afternoon. our best chances for rain tonight into early tomorrow morning, boy, just an ugly day down at the beach, some reduced visibility. humidity is high, over 80% in hagerstown. ocean city we seat fog on the

camera high atop the plaza. you can see the cold front to the west with 50 in oakland. 59 in wen chester. warmest air in central maryland getting pushed out as we go through the overnight into day tomorrow. we'll struggle to get out of the 60s, a cooler dislai with that front pushing through. humidity is rather high across the area. i want to show you this. quite a bit of rain beginning to push in out of the south. we'll watch this carefully. right now if you look at the trajectory of this, much of this rain will probably skirt just south and southeast of baltimore, meaning more rain for the eastern shore, ocean city, salisbury, cambridge and easton. for baltimore west we'll get some of this rain. no question we'll get a round of showers. the heaviest will stay east of the chesapeake. it is a part of the state that needs it the most. that will work out rather well. the pattern is extremely active

and very, very wet. but drier cooler air is on the march and this is the weather that will replace the sort of ugly gray and wet conditions of tonight and tomorrow with a drier cooler condition by tomorrow night and especially into our friday and saturday. take a look at the trend. we look for more rain on and off and a lot of the rain will continue into the maybe early morning hours of thursday. overnight 56, more rain, gets heavy at times. your two-degree guarantee 70, a morning shower, maybe a thundershower. then we clear out. tomorrow night dry, 48. getting windy tomorrow night. seven-day forecast looking ahead. as we look ahead, you can see the trend is for drier and sunnier weather for the weekend. so that is how it shapes up right now. that's my story and i'm sticking to it. >> good news. hopefully the weather holds up for the tight walk are.

vice-president joe biden said he was comfortable with men marrying machine and women marrying women. the president said this has come over the course of several years. republican mitt romney isn't part of the day campaigning in oklahoma. when asked about this, here's what he said. >> states are able to make decisions with regards to domestic partnership benefits such as hospital visitation rights. benefits could be determined state by state. my view is marriage itself is relationship between a man and a woman and that's my own preference. >> reporter: upcan't overstate the importance -- you can't overstate the importance from what emerged from the white house. it is the first time a sitting president has thrown his support behind same-sex marriage. this issue is suddenly front and center in the debate. >> let's talk about the timing
