commute. heading to montgomery county it is going to be a wet commute across that area. we're also dealing with patchy fog this morning so we do have reduced visibility. 6 in hagerstown and winchester coming in around 3:00. we'll talk temperatures and we'll talk when this rain finally gets out of here. how does it look this early? >> well, as you know we are off to a rainy start and we do have a water main break to tell you about in baltimore county. that's going to block all but one lane of westboundúrs3 now u'ut r that outer loop all the way up to 83. and if you are traveling through the fort mchenry tunnel, everything up to speed. if you are using the jfx do be aware that all that construction is taking place blocking one lane in both directions at 28th street. that construction is progressing very well. i think they're going to be finished a lot earlier than expected. >> cha is not usually what you hear when it comes to road construction. >> not at all.

it's caused terrible backups every single morning so it's going to be quite a relief. >> we've been on top of this since that first became an issue. they are a bit ahead of schedule. we're live with a report on how things going. >> well, they oar not done with the work just yet but the good news is the road work is about halfway completed. this is a live look here at interstate 83 this morning. the city says that barring unforeseen problems the work could be finished a little earlier than originally thought. the roadway repairs had to be done. if not, the ground underneath the roadway could have dropped the whole thing. from six lanes to four makes for congestion along one of the busiest stretches of the roadway. now, good weather has allowed crew to get ahead of the game. >> so jfx in the morning and evening b isn't as bad as we ex%ed it to be but we would like people to continue to use those alternate routes until the jfx is back to its normal lane openings. >> all right. so if the weather is good, the department of trfgs says we

could see things get back to normal as soon as june. all you have to do is click on the traffic tab and click on live traffic cameras and you can see some of the different ways that you can maneuver around until this whole thing is comp. some other traffic concerns to warn you about in preparation for this weekend's g 8 summit. they or now closing route 77 from prior road to tower from 9:00 a.m. friday until 9:00 saturday. cunningham falls state park will be affected. stay close for updates for a look at the most up to date detour traffic . today annapolis the senate could pass the proposed tax increase which is aimed at restoring funding to state services including education as well as public safety. a tax increase that would affect

individuals who make more than $100,000 and couples that make more than $150,000. on monday union workers came together in support of the proposal. coming up, we'll hear from republicans and their supporters who gathered to protest the proposed increase. the special session is only scheduled to last until wednesday so stay with us and we'll keep you posted. leaders and members of the labor unions will meet to return for a special second session. they oar going to discuss why they think it's important for the state to change the gaming laws. and pit bull owners are heading to annapolis today as well. the charm city pit bull project is pushing for courts to take action. they don't believe pit bulls are an inherently dangerous breed. they'll protest for about six hours. the owners are being asked to

leave their dogs at . a mandatory federal program to crack down on illegal immigrants will go statewide today. it's called secure communities. when police book a suspect and check the fingerprints against a federal database it will then detain the person if immigration tells them to do so. critics say it will lead to the deportation of people who don't pose a threat and will also destroy families already in the country. democracy 2012, the gop race has become largely an afterthought. mitt romney's only remaining rival in the race says he's leaving the campaign trail but not dropping out of the race. ron paul said in a statement monday he would no longer actively campaign but continue working to secure delegates for the state convention. and president obama will appear today on the view. according to the website the host will discuss his recent

severe weather in our area. but texas dealing with showers and thunderstorms. that's the rule once again. also dealing with some flooding across that area. here at home we have our own concerns with the rain. we need the rain, no type of flooding whatsoever but grab that rain gear as you head out the door this morning. let's get a check now with traffic. >> we are off to a rainy start and we do have a water main break to tell you about right in baltimore county. it's blocking all but one westbound lane of liberty road so do watch out for that traveling in the area. no concerns on the belt ware. here's a live look at liberty road. everything up to speed. you are are looking at an 11-minute ride from 795 down towards 95 and it will remain clear in the parkville area. harford road you're looking at a quick 9-minute ride from 95 up towards 83. the northeast corridor will also be clear traveling through white marsh and if you are using the

causing the overhead awning to collapse. police had to shut down a full intersection for a number of hours to investigate the crash and also fix that hydrant. >> well, nothing like that, that's not the kind of wetness you're going to see here today. this one is going to soon stop coming from the sky. >> we have one more day. so we have today and also some showers in the forecast for tomorrow. so as step out the door don't forget the rain gear. you can see some heavier rain now around montgomery county. also howard county and even frederick county this morning but that's not the only thing that we're dealing with. reduced visibility out there. only about 3 miles in york now. good morning to you and 5 in d.c. 6 in hagerstown and cull pepper coming in around 7. you know i believe it will start to go downhill as we go through the morning so monitoring the situation for you. right now temperatures are quite mild. look at the 60s all across the

board. so these temperatures are well above average. you don't need the coat this morning and you won't need it as you go into the afternoon because temperatures are going to be warmer than what we were yesterday. now, the rain gets out of here nicely as we head into portions of wednesday, but then as we go into the afternoon another little cold front looking like it's going to slice through and bring us some more showers across the area. if you want the dry air and you want the warmer temperatures, thursday looks good. but for today right around 76 degrees and once again this is what we're looking at. first pitch right around 7:05 and that temperature coming in at 73 degrees with some showers and storms. let's get a check of our time saver traffic and how are those roads? >> well, as you mentioned we are dealing with quite a bit of fog so we do want to expect reduced visibility. we with do have a water main break to tell you about in baltimore county and it's blocking all but one westbound lane of liberty road.

with this brand new traffic system it allows me to monitor the traffic flow. on the beltway we are in the green. it will turn yellow and when it does become heavy it will become red. no concerns on the beltware. that east side nice and clear. this traffic system also has live looks of the main lines so here's a look just west of 141. everything up to speed. you are looking at a quick 9-minute ride on that outer loop all the way up to 83. that is a look at your time saver traffic. >> next week when the red sox come to town, street teams will be at it again warning pedestrians on the roads to use caution. they started this process last night during the yankee's game. it was all about sharing the road heading to the game. game 2 tonight at camden yards between the orioles and the yankees. could be some rain in the forecast so it could be similar to the monday night's meeting.

sexual assault against another officer. williams teaches police tactics at the training academy. a female police officer says he touched her inappropriately after a police prak tigs session. we'll keep you posted on this one. and two inmates recovering after being in a car accident yesterday afternoon. it happened yesterday on route 40 in wood lawn. the men were part of a road crew when a truck sideswiped the trailer the inmates were working on. time now for news around the world. an american astronaut, blast off today. they're headed to the international space station. they're relieving the current crew aboard the space station that's been there since last december. a final push to find an agreement on forming a government. if no deal can be reached elections must be called for next month. the political uncertainty has
