could we see an isolated shower or two this evening? it's possible. temperatures hover in the mid-80s. it is warm and humid east of ball. however, drier air moving in tomorrow. a big change as we cool off some 10 degrees, bring back the sunshine and the humidity will be low. we'll talk about how long this holds up. an update on breaking news out of odenton. a cloild was hit by a car -- child was hit by a car and is expected to survive. >> reporter: the child was taken to hopkins children's hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. he is expected to be okay. this happened on blue water boulevard in anne arundel county. the child was struck by a chevy avalanche. there is no crosswalk. the closest one is receipt at the school. folks who live here said there's a need to slow down.

drivers would go well over the speedily. the school sent out a letter to parents so they clan review safety with the child. >> it's a busy area in terms of traffic. about 600 of the students walk to school. we're constantly trying to remind parents of the importance of conveying to their children the common sense safety precautions that you would take when walking on busy streets. we'll be sending a letter home today to do that. >> they've also let parents know there is help available for their child. right now, police are still investigating and no charges have been filed. roosevelt leftwich abc2 news. continuing coverage in the case of monae turnage, the 13-year-old who was shot to death. one of the boys is going to a

juvenile center on the eastern shore for six months. the other will be monitored in a relative's harford county home. we spoke with monae's mother just after the sentencing. >> nothing. they just got away with it. >> i think there's a whole lot more to this. i mean, being a parent, left her out there like that, no, no. and the boy said that she was breathing when they put her out there. what kind of person would do that? >> we will have much more on the story tonight on abc2 news at 11:00. we have an update on the breaking news. we note names of the two men -- know the names of the two men arrested in catonsville after trying to steal copper. they were charged with burglary, theft of property. they were trying to steal copper

pipe. the state police sent a hazmat team in to get one of the men out because there's so much mold and asbestos inside. with the penn state sex abuse trial set to gain, jerry sandusky's attorney is asking for the charges to be thrown out. motions were arguing some of the counts were too vague. the judge has not ruled on the motion and still has to sign a previous motion to delay the trial. it's now fearchlt -- official. they are promoting the baltimore grand prix. race on will take it over. all right. we brought you the investigation right here last night as federal agents raided a suspected pill

mill in timonium. today new information as the healthy life medical group gets taken down. joce sterman last been tracking it for months. she's got latest on who's been busted. >> reporter: when drug enforcement agents raided this building, they broke up a suspected pill mill at healthy life medical group. we've been watching them for months and some of the feds, since last april. >> there was a lot of suspicious activity. >> reporter: what they found is an onslaught of patients as many as 80 a day paying $350 for prescriptions. a pharmacist sounded the alarm. >> how come i'm filling so many

prescriptions for people who don't live in maryland and they're written by healthy life. >> reporter: two of the operators have been arrested. records show that alina margulis, michael reznickov and gerald wiseberg ran the business. the investigation started here at 9607, right off reisterstown road. this building was the original home for healthy life medical group and for people who live hard here, having these guys as neighbors was a nightmare. >> i never the police in -- callinged the police in my entire life. >> reporter: after having people sleep on her lawn and show up hours before opening, she had enough of healthy light. >> sunday night they start arriving at 3:30. >> reporter: she hopes healthy life gives them the boot. >> i went down there.

maryland's special session ended with a tax increase. the fact that our elected officials needed an extra three days add -- at an added cost is really what had people steamed. >> it just doesn't make any sense to us. the point is it's about mathematics. >> as lawmakers throw around ideas of how to deal with our tax money, maryland voters had a few opinions of their own. >> it's frustrating. >> that seemed to be the general consensus. >> don't mind paying more. it probably would affect me. i don't want to -- i don't want the money wasted. it should be spent on roads, school and the environment eye

haven't seen an improvement, haven't heard about a lot of teachers. so i'm not sure where the taxes are going. >> it cost about $20,000 a day to hold the special session. that's $60,000 or more out of the stressed budget. they have a 90-day session, leading some to question the extra time and expense of a special session. >> i don't understand why they can't -- in the business world you have a deadline and make it. it's time government workers wake up to the real world and meet the deadline. >> reporter: if or a one of those us from -- if you're one of those frustrated, there's another session to discuss gambling. don harrison, abc2 news. >> let's talk about that $20,000 a day for the special session. it's to cover expenses like

their food, lodging and administrative costs. millions of college students are about to graduate into a very shaky job market. many new grads are turning to credit cards, but the wrong decisions could end up haunting them. abc2 news karin caifa has tips on staying on the right financial track. >> reporter: for many members, the dream job and the dream salary won't come right away and some may turn to credit to bridge financial gaps. credit standing can affect things from apartment leases to char loans and in some cases job applications. getting off to a solid start could be really simple. >> when this comes to credit, i think the most important thing when you're starting out, yes, it's fine to goat a credit -- get a credit card but pay that

boy, that beach getting ready to get a lot more crowded. would' getting into -- we're getting into peak season. you can see not a drop of rain. we're crystal clear. we expect to stay dry through the end of our preakness weekend. into the west you can see cooler air knocking on the door in oakland. a lot of low 80s. winds are light. humidity is high from annapolis eastward but you see the difference from the harbor west. some drier air working its way. even though we're tracking a line of showers to the north and west, see the line over ohio and pennsylvania? it will encounter that drier air that's locked up to the west of baltimore. as it encounters the drier air, the rain showers will fizzle out. we'll stay rain free the rest of the evening. there's nothing behind that weak

front. it's more dry air. this is the weather we'll be seeing for our preakness weekend. black eyed susan friday. humid air hanging on for eastern maryland. some of that will be pushed offshore. interesting because maybe a slight chance of a shower the rest of the evening, less than 10%. as we go into thursday, extremely bright, blue conditions. there is a bit of a scenario where we get a disturbance brewing. it will stay out will, cluster of showers and storms. friday looks good. preakness looks good. perhaps it could drift more in our direction toward the second half of the weekend. clearing skies. the winds turning northerly. tomorrow 75. this will be much more seasonable.

by tomorrow night much more cooler has we go to 47. let's look ahead. again, just about as we've been predicting all week, we think sunshine starting tomorrow and lasting through the big people's party on saturday. lots of sunshine on tap and after the last couple of years, i guess we're saying i'll have another sunny preakness. you like that, jamie? i just came up with that in a matter of seconds. i don't understand this "dancing with the stars." we have a couple out there with a perfect score and they're off the show. can you believe that. maria menounos and partner derek hough were sent off the show last night. now they said they're proud of how far they've come but they're des apoint they've come -- disappointed they've come so
