infections and just a couple of days but a new study has found it can increase the chance of sudden death in people who are at risk of heart disease. >> they found a slight increase in death from sudden cardiac failure and that's a worry. >> reporter: the study looked at oaf a half million medicaid patients in tennessee from 1992 to 2006. they found patients on the medication who were prone to heart problems were two and a half times more likely to die from cardiac causes while taking the medication than those on another medication. >> the risk of dying from taking it was 45 in a million. the chance of dying crossing the street are greater than from taking it. >> reporter: the lead author said he believes doctors prescribe it because of its easier regiment. last year they wrote 55.3

police raided the healthy life medical group. they believe the couple operated out of the healthy life medical group on york road. according to affidavits filed the clinic has been seeing about 80 patients a day and records show the patient was asked to pay as much as $350 in cash for the visits which didn't include much of an exam and were give endangerrous narcotics. a guilty verdict in the case of a former baltimore city cop accused of killing his neighborhood. he was charged after shooting his neighbor mark zander. a jury found him guilty of second degree murder and a gun charge. he will be sentenced on june 26th. tonight police are under fire for sending out a potentially racist e-mail with

department resources. we have this latest problem for the department. >> reporter: first came to the alleged misuse of police officers by county executive and a call for the police chief to step down. now another problem. they still make arrests, they still are sworn to protect. at a time when police have come under intense watch a e-mail is circulated with in the department drawing fire from the naacp. >> i saw it. very offensive to latinos and african americans. >> reporter: the president of the branch of the civil rights organization produced a copy. it calls calls getting rid of the president, closing the borders and make english the only language. it wants mandatory drug screening for welfare applications. the officer who sent it has 18

years. >> when you have someone sending out this kind of e-mail that's not welcoming to new officers coming into the department. whether they are latino, african american or if they are any any race. it's not a welcoming environment. >> reporter: it's also alleged that he only directed the e- mail to white officers with in the department. the police chief has ordered an internal investigation into the matter. >> it's -- the chief of police as well as the county executive to make a formal apology and to ask those -- this officer or anyone else to stop any type of e-mails of racism with in the department. >> reporter: less than a year ago complaint was in the department of a dispart in hiring and promotions prompted the naacp to call for a federal

investigation. >> thank you. both sides in the trial of a former presidential candidate john ed wars gave closing arguments and during the try ñn details about edward's cheating on his dying wife. the prosecution argued edwards broke campaign finance laws by masterminding a plan to have wealthy donors hide his mistress. the defense said he was trying to only hide her from his wife. the judge ruled the jury doesn't have to be convinced he only wanted to send that money to help his campaign to find him guilty. they just need to believe that protecting the campaign was part of the reason for the cover up. >> the instruction that -- will confuse the jury on what is really the single and most question of this it trial and that is when the third party makes a payment to a mistress is it a campaign expense.

that for about five months hundreds of homes have low water bills, they weren't supposed to and now residents getting incredible bills to make it up. the city said the two meter readers were just to lazy to pick up the plates and read the meters inside they made the readings up and now the city is trying to correct it and residents now getting bills three to four times what they are used to paying. they aren't happy about it. many folks say the error shouldn't be their problem but the city said they know it stinks but it's about fairness. >> you keep in mind, when they were over billing -- the city refunded the money and we have a responsibility by law, we have a responsibility, a moral responsibility to all customers to make sure everybody pays fairly. that's the most important thing. fairly and accurately. when you have a couple roads like this that -- that's it the type of situation that causes a

conditions, winds are light from the north. the overall pattern is an interesting one, again clear from the chesapeake west. clouds over the lower eastern shore and the beaches. of course we are watching this disturbance, this coastal system as it starts to develop off the carolina's. the movement on this thing expected to be slow and generally off shore. however, it can be unpredictable. right now will watch it. we -- we have a cold front and that should kind of keep this system just south and east and prevent it from running in to maryland before at least saturday evening and right now the trend bears that out. take a look and you can see what happens as we go forward in time. that area of unsettled weather starting to creep a little further north. then in the saturday, it gets closer, begins to kind of back
