traffic. official say gas prices are dropping. however, pain at pump is is a drain on your wallet. so when you fork over about $50let's say you want to make sure you are getting what you pay for. no doubt about it. but are you? abc2 news investigator joce sterman is putting local pump to the test. take a look. joce. >> reporter: there are 40,000 gas pumps at 2000 gas station across maryland. a lot of ground to cover but the state checks everyone and so did week looking at inspections for every station in the baltimore area. our abc2 news investigation focused on 724 gas stations in baltimore and baltimore county and anne arundel harford and howard county and looked at the last 4 inspections and found more than 4,000 pumps rejected or condemned. now of those more than a thousand were flagged because of problems that could impact what you pay at the pump. >> the bottom line is we want the complete transaction to be valid for the consumer and on both parties make sure there's

now "good morning maryland. >> 35:44. the count down is on-- 5:544. -- 5:44678 the count down -- 5:44. the count down is on. sherrie johnson has more. >> reporter: well, all eyes will be on wall street this morning in anticipation of facebook's first day of trading. it's one of the biggest initial public offerings ever. and it brings the company's value to $104 billion. he has gone from dorm room geek to nasdaq diva. the worth is 20 billion dollar after the stock trades at $38 a share. for the little guy, big time investors snatched up everything in the initial public offering. some will try to sell the shares for a profit at 2 or 3 times the opening price. but you know what, people who never bought stock before are excited. >> i read things that say you should invest in companies you

like or know and i know this company very well. >> reporter: now in order to get ready for the day, facebook employees stayed up all night having a hack-a-thon trying to brainstorm the next big idea. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. health news this morning. we are coming off a special session where taxs are going up and now law makers are considering adding another tax for your weight. a study says 20% of fat tax would improve public health by taxing food as well as beverages. this is not just maryland. there is discussion worldwide. the study publish in the british medical journal says that unhealthy food and drinks need to be taxed and that we should get breaks on healthy food. researchers out of missouri say a study found you can tell if someone is depressed by watching what they are looking at on the internet. those who show signs of depression browns the web more randomly and they say that

happens between several applications. now, the study followed 216 students and followed their patterns as well. this is the place where you hope you never have to take your child. it's the baltimore child abuse center. a safe haven for kids of sexual abuse. this center provides all reported victims of sexual child abuse support. medical treatment, and crisis counseling. they need -- the need is greater than ever right now. >> this year alone, they have seen over a thousand kids which is a huge increase from the past. we think that's due to the response and it's quicker and less people are falling through the cracks. but it's a really important issue. a lot of people don't want to talk about it and this is the safe haven for them to talk about it. >> to raise funds they are holding a family friendly spring festival sunday at cory lake at green spring starting at 11 going to 3. and admission is $25 per family.

clear skies prevailing. we see clouds off towards the south and west. and also back off towards the east. and what that translates into is cooler temperatures here in baltimore around 50 degrees. under the mainly clear skies and then we get quite mild as we head down to the south and east with the cloud cover acting as blanket across the area. we look at high pressure building in throughout the day. what it does is slides off a towards the east. we have this area of low pressure off the coast. this is the one that's going to try to get its act together and bring us showers going into the latter part of the weekend of the we will get a northeastern flow in between the two. that's an onshore flow and what that will do for today is bring a few high clouds across the area. check out future trend. it's going to pick up on what he's going ongoing into saturday. looks like we could get a little bit more cloud cover out there. but it locks like we stay dry. that's what we -- looks like we stay dry. going into sunday, we could get a few showers trying to work into the picture earlier in the morning. more clouds and then that trend will stick around as we head into the beginning of the week into the middle of the week.

but your hour by hour forecast is nice for today with the temperature coming in right around 77 degrees. get out there and enjoy it. i think you will like it. but, we look at the preakness forecast and a lot of you are going. i have a facebook question on my facebook and it's about whether i should go to preakness. this is my first time i would get. i got mixed reviews. a lot of people said yes. i haven't gotten any nos yet. 78 degrees and gorgeous. dry and times of sunshine and clouds. and the winds will be out of the northeast at 5 to 10 miles an hour. let's break down the 7-day forecast because i think you might like what you see especially through the weekend. starting out with today, which is black eyed susan day. it will be gorgeous with the temperatures at 77 degrees. we head to saturday and we are looking at preakness another nice day and dry day right around 78 and looks like we hit the slots as we head into sunday and monday but the bigger story is we have the wet weather moving into the forecast and that will continue into your thursday as of now.
