latest. >> antiprotesters marched through chicago sunday, one of the largest demonstrations in years. we have new video. this shows how things got out of hand. see the man trying to get in front of the police van. the situation got tense when a group of demonstrators tried to force through the lines to get to where the president was hosting the summit. officers hit them with batons, 45 people were arrested and four officers were hurt. one was stabbed in the leg. the protest focused on a range of world issues mainly war related. inside at the summit, the hot topic was the war in afghanistan.

this is the first time it's held in a city other than dc. linda so, abc 2 news. clues in to a fire after officers say someone through a molotov cocktail in to a home. one perp is injured. federal law in place since 1996 defines marriage for federal purposes as a union between a man and a woman and that creates financial challenges for same sex couples who work for the government or eligible for federal benefits. a maryland couple, they are thrilled when the president declared his support for same- sex marriage. under existing laws, same sex couples aren't allowed to file federal taxes meaning they miss out on deductions and don't have access to retirement, survivor or other benefits through their spouse.
