be here, probably hit and miss stuff. take a look at the hour by hour forecast. a carbon copy with hit and mills showers. let's get you into maryland's most powerful radar. you can see the rain on and off, mainly to the west right now. so for the moment central maryland, downtown baltimore, relatively rain free. shower action to the west. we've seen the bulk of the active weather now clearing to the west. we may have partly to mostly clear skies for a few hours. that would be perfect for the game but there will be wet seats at camden yards. there will be more rain when this ends. let's take it over to northeast baltimore where a man suffered burns on more than half of his body after escaping a house fire. it happened in the 7100 block of mcclean boulevard. you remember the dutch village. that was hit by a tornado two years ago. brian kuebler reports on what

neighbors say was a rude awakening. more than a few neighbors in this northeast townhall community described it as a scene out of a movie. >> i seen flames, ran up and was telling my family and stuff we need to get out. i know these fires can spread fast, so and this was just -- it was like a movie. >> reporter: her main concern was her baby boy and father, all three making it out to scribe flame -- to describe the flames. a man had first and second degree burns on more than 60% of his body. his neighbors watched as he was transported to hopkins bay view. >> he was covered in black smoke and everything. >> is that really tough to see? >> yes, especially this close, next door, a couple doors down. >> reporter: pat didn't waste

group does the same. they said all americans are being denied civil rights. they're the nation's oldest civil rights group and they're taking a stand. the naacp said this supports same-sex marriage in the united states. >> civil marriage must be provided equally to all. >> reporter: naacp president benjamin jealous said it's about protecting every american from discrimination, plain and simple. of the six states including maryland that recognize the same-sex marriage more than 30 have laws that jealous says discriminate. he said this wasn't too long ago that there were laws preventing interracial marriage. he talked about his parents' own marriage in 1966 which was illegal in many states. >> had to return to baltimore,ed

the perception -- and the perception was mistaken for a funeral procession. there were cars with headlights on having to go from one city all the way to the next just so they could have a part after they got married. >> reporter: all the board's vote was unanimous, the board said it was not without dissent. in the end they united. >> i don't think the board was thinking about influencing the outcome in various states. i think that we were deliberating on the fact that we cannot discriminate when we're asking everybody else not to discriminate. >> this is a moral issue and we have crisscrossed, crossed up the moral with the civil. >> reporter: a minister and lifetime member of the naacp said this is not the right stance for the civil rights group to take.

burns who has been pan outspoken opponent on the seam seam in marriage said it diminishes the naacp because it's taking a stance on an issue that does not sit with the group's original purpose. >> we taught that there must be quality between homosexuals and heterosexuals, no they're not going to be satisfied until they move people into their persuasion. that's what this is all about. >> reporter: burns said the group is i'm mean ate -- i'm lenating -- alienating its base. we have a big recall. chrysler recalling jeep wranglers because the vehicles can catch fire. they affect the 2010 model year that have automatic transmissions and that were made before july the 4th of 2010.

you can see four miles is about 40% of our normal visibility to the west. it's an active weather map. a lot of rain offshore. line of showers to the west and tennessee valley, more rain here. there's active whergt moving in from -- weather moving in. we have a lot of active weather to the east. what's left of tropical storm alberto and low pressure hear right over eastern virginia generating rain even offshore. several different disturbances impacting our weather. cold front coming in. low pressure over virginia and the shenandoah. hit and miss showers will be a very good bet, almost as good of a bet as i'll have another was on saturday but hit and miss showers continuing on and off through the day tomorrow and wednesday. so keep that umbrella handy. again, a hit or miss shower will be possible.
