also humid. temperatures in darlington coming in at 63 degrees. 65 in davidsonville. and easton at 63 degrees and look at the rain we have picked up. so yes, we have got the rain yesterday. overnight good rains coming down about 3/10 of an inch in darlington and close to 2/10 of an inch in easton and davidsonville. at the airport, we picked up over a half inch of rainfall. we will have more of that going into the afternoon. but once again, the big story this morning, reduced visibility. we have the patchy fog out there. only 3 miles of reduced visibility now in easton. let's check the abc timesaver traffic with lauren. good morning and do we have accidents because of the fog. >> reporter: no accidents just yet. but speeds are picking up. traffic is starting to pick up on the west side of the beltway. if you are use the jfx, we are up to speed. no concerns traveling southbound at cold spring lane. a high of 59 miles per hour. traffic will remain clear heading through the fort mchenry or harbor tunnels. heading out to the south side

of 95, here's what it looks like north of the beltway. no concerns if you are traveling down south toward 495 or heading north up toward the fort mchenry tunnel. for the beltway a live look in pikesville at green spring avenue. no real concerns but once you make the drive towards liberty road that's where traffic will pick up. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. your tacks are going up. and -- tacks are going up and hundreds -- taxes are going up and hundreds of laws will be on the books as they head to the governor's desk for his signature. sherrieionson joins us with what -- -- sherrie johnson joins with us what more is change. >> reporter: the governor will sign 300 bills. he will sign the budget and tax bills approved in special session. those bills include an income tax increase for people earning more than $100,000 and households earning more than $150,000 a year. governor o'malley is expected to sign a bill that would make

maryland the first state to ban an arsenic additive in chicken feed. they passed the bil banning the use of a chemical used to help the birds grow and fight parasites. it would go into effect january 1st. the governor will sign a bill requiring public schools to keep ep friend on hand in case of a life-threatening allergic reaction. the complete list of bills is about 93 pages long. for more information, head to abc2news.com to read over the list of bills. the story is on the home page. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. a possible date for a special session to consider the expang of gambling is announced. if a work group reaches a consensus a special session will be the week of july 9th. the group will consider the expansion and studity issue and -- study the issue and that work group meets three times next months. in health news this

morning, a report out ranking large cities on fitness levels. and baltimore is in the top 20. we are number 19 overall out of 50. the study by the american fitness index gave our city high marks for farmers markets in the area and parks and high levels of the state requirement of gym classes. the study says on the negative side, the city has a high number of smokers and people with die bite yes. head -- diabetes. the healthy iest area minneapolis st. paul, dc and alexandria virginia. a law that labeled all pit bulls as vicious will change. it is a stronger look at behavior. it establishes three categories for labeling a violent dog of any breed. the law in our state labels pit bulls as vicious and advocates hope we can have a similar law to ohio's. it was supposed to be a hike in the woods but ended up

being a terrifying rescue for a washington state teen who waited for hours to be pulled to safety. look at this because it's incredible. it's from a search and rescue unit as they stretched a lad are across the wallace falls a snow fed ranging river that dropped 270 feetch the bridge eventually led the rescueers to a 13-year-old named william hickman who was there. he is on the right barely above the falls. >> i would say he was in a very, very dangerous spot. >> i will say. after eight hours of sitting on the ledge, rescuers escorted him out and camped with him until the chopper could pick him up in the morning. disturbing video caught on camera. a dad picks up the child and tosses him into a dryer headfirst and slams the door. now it is part of a joke but then the machine starts running. panic sets in and they couldn't open the locked door. and that toddler begins to

now "good morning maryland." anyone is welcomed. well, anyone but those responsible for destroying a church in middle river. more vandalism at the orems united methodist church and now there's a move to protect thechurch. sherrieionson has more. >> reporter: we have -- sherrie johnson has more. >> reporter: we know a local

business will dedicate four security cameras for the church. they are going up the 8:30. the latest vandalism took out 7 windows and the welcome sign. right now, church members are dipping into their pockets to make repairs on this church. vandals bashed in 7, six-foot windows and it's not the first time they hit the church. they hit in april and the ac unit has to be fixed. several months ago the basement windows were targeted and new one were put in and now there's holes there. four ac units were taken from the building and this morning new security cameras will be be installed to help keep a lookout. >> people are invited to the church but not to tear it up. >> people are going around and seeing easy targets like a church that you don't have a lot of people here at night. >> now church leaders tell us that the frequent damage is making it hard when it comes to insurance. multiple claims and the chance of getting dropped.

sherrie johnson, abc2 news. today the baltimore county school superintendent says he is going to seat record straight about class size in his district. dr. joe hairston will aggress misinformation about local media outlets at board of education meeting tonight. he says he will directly address an article publish in the baltimore sun paper that claimed classes in the high school had more than 30 students or more and that 700 classes had been dropped in an effort to preserve administrative jobs and cut the budget. safety advocates hope to teach students about dangers of texting behind the wheel. a simulator will be set up during the high school lacrosse finals at the university of maryland baltimore county campus. state and local driving safety advocates will speak out about the dangers of distracted driving. after a staggering 2 billion dollar trading loss, federal officials will testify at the first hearing in the recent jp morgan chase fiasco.

the ceo is not scheduled to be there but has promised to testify before the senate panel next month. jp morgan suspending the plans to buy back the stock ten days after a massive loss. also this morning, a big recall to tell you about. chrysler is planning to recall about 68,000 jeep wrangler because of the vehicles that can catch fire. the recall affects the 2010model year that has automatic transmissions of the jeeps similar to the one here. this was made before july 4th of 2010. the debris can get caught between the plate and protecting the transmission sparking the fire and no one has been hurt yet. the chrysler will fix the problem for freebie replacing the plate with a bar. owners will be contacted by mail. congress is dumbing it down big time. senators and members of the house of representative now communicate slightly above the 10th grade level. that's a full academic level lower than what it was reviewed last which was 2005. a study by the sunlight

the mild side. we can see the 60s by acally everywhere across the -- basically everywhere across the board. lows should be around 53 or 54 for this time of year. we have a coastal flood advisory and that goes in effect at 6 and lingers until lunchtime today. it's for the areas here shaded in the bluish color. we are looking at harford county and southern baltimore and also anne arundel county. even d.c. is under the coastal flood advisory. we are looking at high tides and also that onshore wind which will help some coastal flooding of low lying areas. now, the weather pattern brings this cold front closer to us but what's going keep nuts chance for showers and storms for today is this trough of low pressure and we have another area of low pressure. this once used to be tropical storm alberto. and it's tropical depression alberto staying away from us not affecting any type of land. more showers and thunderstorms pop up on future trend. continuing as we head into wednesday and also thursday. but much drier times ahead. but not for today.

the temperature coming in right around 76 degrees and we will be humid. let's check of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren. >> reporter: good morning. fog is really limiting visibility this morning. be extra careful heading out. turn on the low beams. heading to 95, in the northeast core a dore, no concerns -- corridor no concerns in the white marsh area. looking at travel times, travel southbound -- traveling southbound, a 15-minute ride from the beltway to downtown baltimore. as for the beltway, here's what it looks like in parkville at harford road. everything up to speed. a 9-minute ride on outer loop from 95 up towards 83. as far as the west side is concerned, traffic is starting to pick up here at liberty road. but still, no significant delays just a 13-minute ride on outer loop from 795 down towards 95. using the jfx to get into the city, ongoing construction but we are looking at a high of 56 miles per hour southbound at cold spring lane. that's a look of a your abc2
