cameras will be installed to help keep a lookout. >> people are invited to the church but not to tear it up. >> people are going around and just, you know, seeing easy targets like a church that you don't have a lot of people here at night. >> the -- >> reporter: now church leaders tell us that the frequent damages make it difficult when it comes to insurance. multiple claims and the chance of getting dropped. sherrie johnson, abc2 news. news time 6:32. concerns this morning about closing rec centers in baltimore. there was a protest last night at city hall where demonstrators say they are not happy about the city's 19 million dollar plan to restructure recreation centers and use sponsors to keep some of them open. organizers do say the city is taking centers away from neighborhoods that need them the most and it's important to kid in the communities to have input. federal investigators are looking into whether engine trouble caused a small plane to crash in southern california.

the cessna 210 went down in the neighborhood in glendale downing power lines and avoiding homes. the pilot was able to free himself from the twisted wreckage and was taken to the hospital without injuries that are not considered life- threatening. 6:33. and disturbing video caught on camera a potential parental prank could have ended up tragically. a dad picks up his kid and toss him into a washer headfirst and slams the door. shock turned into horror when the machine begins running. and then it is full fledged panic when the door is lock and the tumbler the kid is stuck inside and they can't get it open. the attendant noticed what was going on and turned it off. the child has a few bumps and bruises but is otherwise expect to be okay. more video this morning of a rescue in washington state. a teenage was hiking with his family when he fell down a water fall. a search and rescue unit stretched a lad are across the river that drops 270 feet.

summit and curfew city wide. he says the mayor is absent without leadership. he says she is engaging in cover-up type policy. he says criminal acts and violent behavior has been reoccurring in the inner harbor area. last week he asked the governor to declare the harbor a no travel zone until it is safe. he he also sparked outrage over the comments about black mobs. he says the inner harbor could be safe with the proper leadership and a solution summit and city wide curfew. he also says the mayor is forcing out her two top public safety advisers at the worst possible time. mcdonough says the mayor is pressuring the resignation of police commissioner fred bealfield bealefeld and last week the mayor refused to comment on the black mob comment and her spokespeople said it's disrespectful to the police department and the efforts to lower crime.

to sign a bill that could make maryland the first state to ban an arsenic additive in chicken feed. a possible date is set for the special session to be considered for the possible expansion of gambling in maryland. if a work group reaches a consensus, the session could be held the week of july 9th. the group will consider gaming expansion and issue a study and propose a legislation the general assembly could consider. work group is going to be meeting three times in the next month. tomorrow the senate homeland committee will hold a hearing. the acting inspector general will testify. this incident involved agents and happened more than month ago. it involved roughly 20 alleged prostitutes so far 9 secret service members have been let go. and all new a study showing that congressional speeches are now writen at the 10th grade level down a grade level from
