you're watching the station that works for you good morning maryland at 4:30. the secret service scandal is back in the spotlight. new details revealed. the man suspected in the disappearance of a maryland woman in aruba in trouble again with the law. what police found gary giordano doing in a park lot. >> a businessman is accused of selling $20,000 of stolen good. >> all that straight ahead but we begin with a traffic alert beginning tonight, lane closures affecting parts of maryland 295 at west nursery road begins at 10 delaying traffic through 5 a.m. thursday morning. crews are going to be restriping the road and installing a concrete barrier. drivers are encouraged to use 95 or u.s. 1 as alternate rods.

race at rosecroft raceway around 2 tuesday evening during a race. two of the drivers were fren to shock trauma. the hourss were not hurt. the drivers are injured but are expected to be okay. police arrested the owner of a store in howard county accused of trying to sell $20,000 worth of stolen merchandise. jose molina told our sister station that he doesn't care he got the goods illegally. store is is in elk ridge and some of the items includes razors and air freshers in and some have the target labels on them. a rockville company is recalling food products because of a possible salmonella contamination. indonesia food mart.com announced the recall of yeast and super starter yeast. the products were distributed nationwide and comes in sealed clear plastic packages and several illnesses have been reported. the story that rocked the secret service agency in the news today. >> yeah a panel hearing begins

further examining the actions of agents who were in colombia. sherrie johnson joins us hike with preview. >> reporter: -- live with a preview. >> reporter: today there will be a public hearing on the prostitution scandal involving u.s. military and secret service agents in colombia. agency heads are expected to testify today. they were in colombia ahead of the president's trip last month for the summit of the americas. hearing comes as three drug enforcement administration agents are also under investigation for hiring prostitutes in colombia. we have learned one of the three dea agents under investigation in the scandal may have had a long-term relationship with a colombian prostitute. the government investigators are trying to contact the woman to learn more about the relationship. maine senator says if this is true, it could have created a big risk. >> we don't know if they are associated with drug cartels,

whether they have been sent to entrap the agents or compromise them which could endanger the mission. >> reporter: the scandal involved 20 alleged prostitutes. so far 9 secret service members were dismissed three other agents were cleared of serious misconduct. four agents decided to fight the dismissals. sherrie johnson. to gary giordano the man jailed in aruba and suspected in the disappearance of a woman charged with indecent exposure and he and a tennessee woman were engaged in a sexual encounter inside a parking garage in annapolis friday night. two people saw something going on in the back of a black escalade and they immediately called police. >> you know, i think from late night people, but for the most part i felt pretty safe in and out of here. >> inside the suv they found

her and carol ann bock. this was a single mattress in the back of the suv. today maryland senator barbara mikulski will join other senators to discuss the pay tax fairness act in washington, d.c. and they are expected to convene at 2:30. the act is being considered to expand the scope of equal pay act to address the disparity between male and female incomes. bge is trying a new way to save consumers money but customers are not buying it. they want to take out old meters that require meter reader visits and replace them with new automated digital smart meters. the replacements could be dangerous because radiation into the home that could cause potential fires. bge says meters wouldn't cause more radiation than other household appliancer. according to a pole a. new group of voters are giving mitt romney a boost. >> who they are and why his wife may have a lot to do with the boost of support.
