a man passed out on the streets in new york is robbed and it's caught on tape. apparently the man passed out in someone's yard in port chester. some men noticed him on the ground. they didn't call limits instead, they started going through the man's pockets. and at one point took his shoes off to check his socks for cash. no one stopped to help. wow. check out this. the plaza hotel in texas coming down. now just a pile of rub belt demolition crews brought down the seven-story building today. there was a spectator area. developers plan to build apartment and retail space there. this is the sun like you've never seen it before.

nasa captured these pictures of the sun's surface. it was shot over a 24-hour period. and it is raining hot dogs. the american coney island restaurant teamed up with a local radio station to drop 955 hot dogs from a helicopter. people on the ground rushed to pick them up. the person who scooped up the most won a lifetime supply of coney hot dogs and $1,000. the hot dogs was in celebration of the restaurant's 95th anniversary. don't worry. the hot dogs did not go to waste. they were donated to a dog shelter. it can get tough for veterans, especially when the tour of duty is over. how the country is trying to help them get back on their feet. >> mitt romney lays out his first day in office and democrats mock him for it. i'll have the details coming up.

the national unemployment rate is near hexic levels. that rate increases when veterans return home from deployment and retire from the military. today there's a job fair to help those vets get back into the workforce. abc2's lamont williams has their story. >> reporter: it was filled with veterans of the battlefield. this targets veterans of the united states military. many are returning home there deployment. >> the number that initially gets out, that number is higher. the minute you're out of the military you're considered

unemployment. >> i'm a veteran myself. >> reporter: making job serks feel at ease having someone who can identify with their needs. >> i know what it's like to be away for long periods of time, separated from your family and going through all the stresses that are associated with those types of employment and to come home and have to be worried about being unemployed or looking for a job adds to the stress. anything that we cran do to help them transition we're all for. >> reporter: earl cooper served in the army in the early 80s when his country was in need. >> preparing individuals for deployment. >> reporter: earl says he's been feeling left out and bond during a time he is in need. >> we do need help. so this is a within consider itful thing that needs to be continued and with more and more

idea. beach forecast this weekend. 75 at the beach tomorrow. it's going to be refreshing. that wart temp is 6345 -- 65 degrees. bethany beach, you name it. maybe pushing 80. fantastic weather because of the cool ocean breeze. i have a feeling they will have a record weekend. 79 in baltimore. 70 at the beach. winds are light from the southeast. humidity is high. in question about that. the humidity around 50% but the dew point numbers are north of 65. that ibd indicate -- indicates it's muggy. so relative humidity can be misleading. with we do see is drier weather to the west and that's going to be our story friday and saturday. high pressure cell. this will bring in hot weather for the weekend. in the meantime one more day or so of this where we have a weak area just enough to generate

pop-up showers and storms the rest of the evening, perhaps in the much for the immediate baltimore area but some in the mid-atlantic region. as we go from friday into friday afternoon nothing more than a stray shower to the west. dry saturday, a lot of sunshine, maybe hazy at times. the dry slot will mean good weather for weekend. variably cloudy. tomorrow enjoy it, mid-80s. after this it will get hotter. tomorrow down to 68 and the seven-day forecast again. each day getting hotter. chances for rain getting slimmer and slimmer. we will put in the chance for a few afternoon thundershowers both sunday and memorial day monday. so for all those key parades, especially in the d.c. area, maybe a pop-up storm. dress light, hot near 90. >> and keep your water handy. >> keep hydrated. now to democracy 2012 news. it's all about the number one
