traffic with loren. good morning, we continue to follow a police involved accident in harford, bel air, continuing the shutdown route 1, between hickory and route 543. if you are traveling in the area, you will want to use conowingo road. we will bring you updates as they become available. if you are headed to 695, dealing with a disabled car at the francis key bridge, speeds at 35 miles per hour. as we check in and look at the west side, liberty road, traffic is picking up, no significant delays as we make the drive from liberty road towards 95. for those of you using the harrisburg expressway, hunts valley, shawan, up to speed. once you get onto the jfx, the construction has finally cleared, construction workers finished the project earlier than expected. all lanes re-opened.

we have an update on breaking news following for you this morning. crews are battling a house fire in harford county, on dixie lane. linda so joins us with new information and video. >> we have new video from the scene that came in to the newsroom. see smoke and firefighters using a ladder truck to spray water from above. this is a 2-alarm fire that started in a home around 4:30 this morning on dixie lane in forest hill. neighbor says a dog died in the fire, they tell us the family that lives there is a multigenerational household. the call came in as an entrapment but we are told no one was hurt. one neighbor says the family believes the fire might have started from a outdoor grill used yesterday and left out. reaction in the death of a towson university student. >> police say a drunk driver killed chaz wick. she sherrie johnson is live

with more. >> reporter: the school year has ended here at towson university, now students and faculty preparing for summer school and mourning the loss of 22-year-old matthew chess wick. according to the tower light he was a student at towson university. the howard county native died after he was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver while trying to cross the highway. the driver of the isuzu drove off. the witnesses followed the suv until police arrived on the scene to arrest the driver who has been identified as diego, of virginia. >> you see the kid on the floor. the car struck him. everything started running towards him. >> i'm a momm my concern was actually, what the mom would say that he son was here having a great time, and his life ended because of a drunk

new video, outside detroit. look at this, this is what happened when storms barreled through the rlier this morning, crews say the fire started after power lines fell on to cars. we are told 3 vehicles were destroyed, others were severely damaged. let's get to lynette charles for a check of the steamy forecast. we had severe weather across michigan. they will get a ruined for today's as this pushes towards the east. i will show you that in a second. let's start with tropical depression beryl. we can see it is lessening a bit. the winds sustained 30 miles an hour, still dumping lots of rain across georgia and florida. it will begin to strengthen back to a tropical storm as it moves over the warm waters of the gulf stream. the way it stays away from us, maybe some high waves and surf across ocean city.

things looking good for us in terms of beryl. right now, temperatures are quite warm this morning, 74 degrees westminster. mount airy 72. good morning chester town, 75. 73 aberdeen. these temperatures are well above average and they will continue to be so this afternoon. the weather pattern sets us up on a hot humid day as we look off towards the west there of the cold front. this is what is working in as we go in too the afternoon. we will get the clashing of air masses that. we could see thunderstorms popping up in the forecast for us. along with the fact some could be on the strong side. gusty winds, also large hail. i put future trend in to motion, you can see what i'm talking about. be careful, it could be a little bit dicey. wednesday morning, still showers in the forecast, but those get out of here, we will get sunshine on wednesday lingering in to thursday. for today, once again, it is going to be hot and humid with

the temperature coming in around 91 degrees, feeling more like we were the upper 90s and also maybe the triple digits like we had yesterday. a check of the seven-day forecast, breaks it down for you. as we slowly begin to drop the temperatures off as we go in to wednesday, 87 degrees, not as humid. cooler as we go in to thursday, around 78 degrees, by the weekend, temperatures coming in below average, nice and cool in the low 70s. a police involved accident cleared, route 1 re-opened at the hickory bypass. if u traveling 895, police activity is blocking southbound lanes. 95 will be nice and clear. if you are using the jfx in to the city, the construction has been finished. no delays yet as you travel downtown to east fayette. disabled car cleared from the inner loop at the key bridge.

as we take a look at the west side, notice inner loop moving slowly, continuing towards green spring and outer loop not bad as you travel down to 95. bap that's a look at your time saver traffic. supposed to be a fun day for an 81-year-old woman, going sky diving for her birthday. now the video of her nightmare has gone viral. >> her knees gave out and she managed to get out of the plane but things went from bad to worse. >> some think she is forced out of the plane. >> no. i don't look at it that way. he knew i wanted to jump. >> the parachute opened and she landed safely. her harness wasn't secured properly. >> they are detached in the process. this is scary for anyone who wants to sky do i have tandem.
