corner of baltimore county. you can see the storms popping up on the visible satellite view. the movement is north, and also north, northeast. eventually three get close are and -- closer and closer. you can see it north of westminster. again, there is a watch in this area moving out of taneytown north. then another cluster west of meyersville. this is a large thunderstorm here. this one is a severe thunderstorm with potentially damaging winds, multiple lightning strikes and potentially hail. watching the storms carefully to the west. the rest of the evening, keep your eye to the sky, particularly the western sky. we'll have the very latest as we go through the evening. back to you. good news tonight when you make your drive to work. tomorrow you'll be happy to see there's no more emergency

roadwork. now all lanes, both north and south are open. they were first closed down in mid-april. but thanks to workers pick up i decisional shifts, the work has wrapped up sooner than exectd. the question, many wonder who would shoot a 10-year-old boy. he was one of others shot. police are looking for suspects in the case. folks in the neighborhood are looking for answers. abc2's roosevelt leftwich has more. >> police are trying to figure out what prompted someone to shoot at a 10-year-old. they also want to know what prompted a rash of violence in the area over the past few months. one bullet hole. >> he was shooting at the car and ran all the way down to the little chinese place. >> reporter: two bullet holes.

>> i heard seven loud shots. when i heard the shots, we dove to the floor. we were afraid oar are four people shot, including one 10-year-old boy. >> that touched me a lot when i heard about the 10-year-old child who got shot. >> reporter: about a dozen police officers out, some going door to door. the bullets flew through the window of a barber shop. this happened in the lock block about -- 2300 block of hoffman about 9:30 last night. early this morning a fourth victim walked into the hospital with gunshot wounds. all of the victims were shot bloat waist. police so far have no motive and no suspects. >> kind of used to it, though. >> why do you say that? >> they shoot you a -- all the time. >> reporter: it was a quiet

spot. now they say over the past year a lot of folks from outside the neighborhood are bringing their mess right here. they want it gone and hope if anything can come out of this, they can finally get help. >> we have nice neighbors. we just can't control things when we're in the out here. usually we stay indoors. >> reporter: now at this point police are still looking for suspects in the shooting. if you have any information, police call baltimore city police. roosevelt leftwich. right now homicide detectives are working on another shooting. this one on miter tell avenue, near pennsylvania avenue. one man was shot and rushed to shock trauma. we have more information on a suspect or a possible motive. tonight two men face charges stemming from a stabbing in glen burnie. police say he got into an argument with his girlfriend.

apparently it became violent and police say he stabbed her and her 18-year-old son. the son's friend reportedly fired a gunshot into the air while we were outside the apartment building. they were both treated at area hospitals and released. an early morning fire in harford county leaves the family homeless and the state fire marshal investigating. he saw the blow of flames. the family's dog didn't make it. neighbors disdhooferred -- discovered that a candled pour -- powered balloon was nearby. they said evidence suggested

something else and found no seen of arson. this afternoon the debate on the proposal that would make baltimore city fire trucks rolling billboards. it would allow them to spell advertising. opponents are saying they don't want city fire trucks to look like nascar cars. supporters say it's a way to keep fire companies open without including fees. baltimore police officers in the eastern district will have a new tool. they will be armed with the quality assessment. it's 13 questions that will help officers determine if a domestic violence victim is in need of immediate help from the house of ruth. we have more on how it benefits

victims. it's on our website. maryland's same-sex marriage law is one step away from ending up on maryland's ballot. the alliance submitted signatures more than twice the number needed to put the issue on a referendum. the group which opposes it in maryland only needed about 56,000 signatures by june 30th. >> every poll is n but propaganda. what we're seeing is countless, thousands have marylanders wan to see marriage go on the ballot but they also want to see it defined and upheld between one man and one woman. >> the selection of those signatures does not reflect the growing momentum. the truth is it has lost ground. we know that 57% of maryland

has extended farther east, reaching down into montgomery. so a slow steady shift of our severe thunderstorm watch. tremendous amounts of lightning, gusty winds. now the other cluster is moving out of northern carroll county. so commuter unless this direction facing that cluster. back to the west this is the more impresssive lib -- line. you can expect this line to arrive in your area in the next 15 to 30 minutes max. they're getting east. through the day toot it was a clear sky over ocean city.

blue skies. hot conditions, staying very, very muggy. temperature wise, look at the numbers, central and east. mid-80s now but earlier today well into the 90s. right now with the dew point, there was that measure of moirchlt humidity level up around 70 on the dew point. it feels like the mid-90s still. this type of heat and humidity is what can fuel thunderstorms beyond the sort of afternoon window well into the evening. storms could continue to fire in central maryland and the eastern shore because there's enough heat and humidity around, enough available energy or available convective energy to keep the storms going. we'll watch for them to continue at least on a scattered basis well into the evening. as we look at the pattern, very hot conditions. cooler air on the march. this is a prefrontal line. the main cool air won't arrive until another 36 hours or so as we go into thursday but still

the chance for showers tonight and still toward 2 a.m. storms could rumble with all that heat and humidity in the air. as we look at the everall setup it stays clear. all eyes are left on berl. indications are this will redevelop into a tropical storm off cape hatteras. overnight 71 with thunder showers tomorrow. hot, upper 80s, still a chance for a hit or miss shower. the seven-day forecast, temperatures trending cooler. that is the main weather story. now as we look at next weekend, we keep the chance for a shower storm in there. could see a disturbance or two passing through the area. we're confident that this tropical storm will head out to sea, so maybe just some big waves rolling into maryland but not storm itself. >> we'll keep an eye on that. >> have you ever wondered that the crabs that you ordered were
